Chapter 21 What wrong with Advaith!?
Following morning Aarohi woke up with the sight of Advaith's one leg entwined with hers', and herself perfectly caged in his arms in a back hug, quite tightly, leaving no option for her to escape without waking him up in the process.
And about the pillows!?
Then they were once again scattered mercilessly on the floor.
She could never understand that how most of the nights, the barrier of pillows between them surprisingly gets disheveled and how every morning she finds the same pillows lying on the floor, and herself caged in his arms.
Sometimes she doubts that whether it is accidental, or its Advaith's doing, purposely.
But then whole day his rude behavior with her proves that this ‘pillow on the floor every following morning' thing is just unintentional, may be owing to their sleeping habits at night.
Aarohi with great difficulty lifted his hand from above her and tried getting up only to fall back on him due to their still entangled legs.
Her sudden falling on him disturbed Advaith's sleep who opened his sleepy eyes and look at the cause of weight on him, only to come face to face with Aarohi's beautiful face.
His brown orbs concentrated deep into her doe shaped eyes which were wide open in shock due to their current intimating position.
Even before he could register, his right hand raised on its own accord and he slowly tucked her falling hair strands behind her ears.
'Advaith.", Aarohi leaned her head a little back, uncomfortable with both his gaze as well his actions.
Advaith withdraw his hands in realization, and Aarohi immediately tried maintaining distance between them, but may be destiny was really testing them today.
As soon as Aarohi tried getting up from above him, instead she once again fall on him due to her mangalsutra (nuptial chain) which was entangled with his heart shaped gold locket.
'I am sorry.", Aarohi whispered meekly as she tried detangling their neckpiece with fumbling hands but failed miserably.
'Wait, let me do it.", Advaith took their neckpiece from her hands and tried detangling them, but in all this he didn't miss to notice how she squirmed in discomfort when his hand touched her, and for some unknown reasons it hurt deep in his heart.
It hurted him to see her uncomfortable whenever he looks at her intensely, or when he accidentally touch her sometimes.
'Done.", Advaith said as he looked up at Aarohi whose eyes were deeply focused somewhere.
Following her gaze he looked at where Aarohi was looking and realized that when he was trying to detangle their neckpieces, his heart shaped gold locket got open revealing his and Aamira's romantic picture fixed in there.
Advaith kept looking at Aarohi's retreating figure who without a word went directly inside the washroom to get fresh, while here he grown in frustration.
He himself was confused about what exactly he wants.
Neither he want to loose Aamira, nor he could stop himself from getting more and more close to Aarohi with each passing day.
~~~~~
Advaith after taking his bath came out of bathroom half naked just with a towel wrapped around his waist, when he saw Aarohi keeping his coffee on side table, yet oblivious to his presence in the room.
'Thanks.", Advaith said to Aarohi who was going out of the room, without looking at him.
Aarohi turned around and looked up at him, only to widen his eyes looking at him half naked, but what caught her attention was the heart shaped locket which was not there anymore in his neck.
'Your locket?", Even before she could register, she asked him about his locket.
Advaith noticed her expression for a moment before replying, 'yeah it—it was pricking me so I took it off."
Aarohi looked at him for a moment and then nodded before turning to walk out of the room, but stopped as soon as she heard Advaith calling her, 'Aarohi!!"
'Yes!?"Aarohi asked turning at him, to which he replied, 'I am taking an off from the office so take out my casual wears."
Aarohi nodded and walk to the wardrobe to take out his casual wear, whereas Advaith started sipping his coffee while staring at her.
The way she carefully takes out his clothes, taking care of not to ruin its neatness. The way she chooses right clothes for him just the one which he needed. The way she knows each and everything about where his things are kept. All this small things now caught Advaith's attention when he observed her keenly.
Even sometimes he himself can't find his things in this huge wardrobe, but the way Aarohi was taking out each and everything accurately, was surprising for Advaith. It was as if she is staying here since years and now is aware of each and every nook of his wardrobe.
Keeping his things neatly on couch, Aarohi checked once more if something is missing, and after confirming that everything of his need is perfectly arranged there, she silently walked out of the room without even sparing a glance at Advaith.
But all this time, there was a small smile playing on Advaith's lips looking at how she was doing all this only for him, just like a loving wife.
Indeed she was his wife but they didn't had that relation yet, and still she was doing all this like a perfect wife was something which Advaith saw today for first time. Or may be he see this everyday but only today he realized it with his true heart.
Taking the same set of clothes which Aarohi had taken out for him, Advaith walked into the closet to get ready.
~~~~~
'Bhabhi (Sister-in-law), mom told me that you are going to your home!?", Aashi asked Aarohi as they were having their breakfast.
'Yes, my father called me in the morning. Everyone is missing me there so—', Aarohi said, only to be cut by exciting Aashi, 'Wow, so I can drop you at your place. Anyways I am going to my college by that road only. I will also get the chance to meet your family. I haven't met them properly since your and bhai's (brother's) marriage. Mom-dad can I go with bhabhi (sister-in-law). I will go to my college from there only."
'Aashi, Your college is in opposite direction to her house. You directly go to your college. I will take Aarohi to her house.", Even before anyone can say anything, Advaith said, leaving everyone shocked in the room.
'Bhabhi (sister-in-law), is bhai (brother) ok??'I mean he is willingly going with you, that too when no one asked him to! Bhabhi (sister-in-law), What have you done to my brother in Delhi, that suddenly he started behaving so well!?", Aashi whisper asked Aarohi who herself was too shocked.
Is this the same guy who till yesterday was blaming her for every bad thing happening in his life?
'Aarohi, I am waiting for you outside. Come fast.", Advaith said and walked out ignoring everyone's shocked face.
~~~~~
'You don't need to come to drop me. I can go by myself.", Aarohi said as now she doesn't want to take any obligation from him anymore, knowing he might taunt her with the same thing later.
'Its ok. I was free anyways. By the way, do you want to buy something for your family on the way?", Advaith asked as he concentrated on driving towards Aarohi's house.
'No. You just drop me st my home.", Aarohi said before averting her sight outside the windows, lost in her thoughts.
'I know you are confused with my sudden changed behaviour. But remember I told you that I will try to be as good as I can with you? After yesterday evening conversation, I understand that no one is wrong here, neither you nor I. So I think there is no point of blaming you for this marriage of ours.", Advaith answered Aarohi's unasked question.
'Till when?", Aarohi asked with blank face.
'What do you mean?", Advaith frowned as he couldn't understand Aarohi's question.
'Till when your this changed behavior will continue? Something will happen again and you'll blame me again like before, right?", Aarohi asked as she was scared to hold onto any false hope, which Advaith later crushes under his feet very easily, without thinking about her emotions.
'You can go.", Advaith said with blank face and staring outside, but then sensing Aarohi's confused gazed on him, he continued, 'We reached your house."
Aarohi looked outside and realized that they are already outside her house. Silently she got down from car and was about to go inside, when Advaith called her.
'Call me when you want to go back home. I will come and pick you up.", Advaith said without looking at her, and before she says something he drove from there in full speed, leaving her standing back there.
~~~~
On the way back to his house, Advaith's mind was totally occupied with questions about his and Aarohi's conversation sometime back in the car.
He knew that somewhere she is right. He himself was not sure that for how long will he will be able to behave good with her, because at the end, he still somewhere blames her for this marriage where his wife might have been Aamira if he didn't had to marry Aarohi.
But then he was also aware that somewhere unintentionally he is developing a soft corner for her in his heart, and he fears that this attraction of his might turn into something more which he is never willing to.
His thoughts were disturbed when his cellphone rang with 'love" displayed on the screen.
Picking up the call, he talked to Aamira for few minutes, before taking u-turn and driving his car somewhere opposite to his house.
~~~~~
'Aarohi, Advaith did not come inside even today. It is already one month to your marriage and he still had not visited us even for once. Everything is fine between you both, right?", Mishti asked her daughter as they all were sitting in living room.
'Yes Aarohi. If there is some problem between you two then tell us and we will talk to him.", Abhoy, Aarohi's brother said, though since the day he went for first time to Khurana house for picking Aarohi for her paghphera rasam, he somewhere already noticed some problem between Aarohi and Advaith.
{Paghphera is a ritual in India where newly wed bride visit her own house at first day of her marriage.}
'Mom-dad, bhai (brother), It is not like what you are thinking. Yes, in starting there were some problems to adjust with each other, but now all is well. Infact he took very good care of me in Delhi when I was not well due to flight sickness. And even today he wanted to come inside but then he also had to go for an important meeting so he couldn't come and meet you all. But he had said that he will meet you all in evening when he will come to pick me up.", Aarohi said with a small smile, though only she knew that how much it was difficult for her to lie to her family.
'Sre you sure that there is no problem between you two, right?", Mishti asked once again, as she could see through her daughter's eyes, which were reluctant to look straight into her mother's eyes.
'Yes Mom, there is no problem!", Aarohi squeezed Mishti's hand with a small smile, giving her assurance that she is really fine at her In-law's house.
'Well before you guys ask anything else, I am going to my room to get fresh.", Aarohi said, and ran up to her room without giving anyone chance to ask anymore questions.
~~~~~
'Advaith, You came back yesterday and you didn't even tell me. Didn't even call once after going there.", Aamira said with tears, breaking Advaith's heart.
'Aamira, there is nothing like that. I was seriously busy there with meetings. And even Aarohi wasn't well.", Advaith said, trying holding Aamira's hand, but she immediately jerked her hand from his grasp.
'So it was your ‘WIFE', Because of whom it has happened for the first time in these two years that you have gone on a trip and you have not called me. And wait—you had told me that you have gone alone on the trip and your wife had not accompanied you", Aamira said with frowns, which somewhere irritated Advaith but he composed himself.
'Aamira, you are taking it all wrong. I was seriously busy there. And about Aarohi, she had definitely came with me but I did not give any special time to her. Infact we hardly talked with each other there.", Advaith said trying to make Aamira understand.
'I am not taking it all wrong Advaith. Earlier you would not pass a day without talking to me, but now you talk to me hard. You don't even call me. Even today if I hadn't called you, I probably wouldn't have even known that you are already back into Mumbai.", Aamira accused him. In real, she was just frustrated by her father's pressure, and now she could feel even Advaith is going away from him.
She never had someone to call her's genuinely, and now it seems that even Advaith is also going away from her. So her insecurities were kicking off.
'Aamira at least listen to me—', Advaith ran behind her calling her but she was already gone, leaving him frustrated back there.
~~~~~
It was evening and Aarohi was calling Advaith so that he can come and pick her up, but unfortunately neither he was picking up her call nor he was replying her messages.
'What happen Aru, Advaith is coming to pick you, right?", Arnob asked his daughter who was still busy messaging Advaith secretly about whether he is coming or not.
She would have already gone back by herself if she wouldn't have told her family that Advaith will specially come to meet them. Now if he doesn't come, she is sure her family, specially her mother will be sure about problems between her and Advaith.
'Dad, May be he is busy. He isn't picking up my call. I will call home and tell Aashi, she will send the driver.", Aarohi said, as tears threaten to roll down her eyes.
Once again her hope on him is crushed. May be she was wrong trusting him once again.
'Come, I will drop you to your home.", Abhoy said picking up car keys, to which Aarohi could just agree silently.
Bidding bye to her family Aarohi sadly walked out of her house followed by her brother.
~~~~~
'Boss, everything is scheduled as per your plan. Soon we will be having our first meeting with Khuranas.", Mike informed Asad, who was busy puffing his cigarette staring at nothing particular out of window.
'Good.", Asad replied with a smirk, thinking something deep in his mind.
'Boss, are you sure you are doing right?", Mike asked a bit nervously. Though he was the only person close to Asad, still he was yet to cross that one wall which Asad had made around his heart.
'Mike, you are the only person who knows me in and out.", Asad said with a smile as he turned and looked at Mike, before changing his expression in seriousness as he continued, 'But don't try to intervene in my personal space. And never dare to question my doings."
'Sorry boss.", Mike immediately apologized sensing Asad's rising temper.
'You know Mike, since my childhood I only had one dream, and that is to destroy Abhiraj Singh Khurana and his oh-so-happy family. I want to destroy his peace. And I can do anything to get what I want, by hook or crook!", Asad said with gritted teeth and tighten jaw as he crushed the cigarette under the heels of his shoes, as if not crushing cigarette but some person's life.
