Chapter 30
"Please tell me everything is on track," Munya said as he looked at the screen watching.
"Everything is right on schedule. Nyasha is with her and she has no idea, but something has come up that we need to attend to," Marcel said in a worried tone.
"No problem at all just as long as I am married to that woman in front of God alone I have no problem, I don't even care who will be there as long as she is there," he stated.
Marcel chuckled at his friends' words before hanging up.
Looking at the images the planner had sent over she smiled. Their home had been turned into a wedding getaway and all Rudo knew was that it was being renovated as they were staying at his father's palace.
————
"Now I will give you four of my best men, they will be under your charge. I have other matters to attend to. They are experts at what they do so you should have no problems at all," Marcel said as Nyasha sat beside him drawing patterns on his arm.
Turning to look at her she turned to face him as she simply smiled.
"My wife and I still have not received information on the target exactly but do let the men know. We don't normally do this but because of our tight schedule they will deal with everything," he said.
Neil walked into the room with his wife looking at Simba as he scoffed.
"Play nice," his wife whispered as she placed her hand on his chest.
"The boy is a womanizer and always stirs trouble where he goes. He can't even take care of his own mother. What type of man cannot take care of his own mother," Neil spat.
Looking at his wife he looked for help from his sister but saw no hope there.
"Forgive me love," he whispered taking her hand in his as he brought it up to his lips looking at her with a pleading look.
A slight head nod had him smiling at his wife.
"We should be leaving," he mumbled as Marcel nodded his head in agreement.
Standing up Simba was the first to exit the house.
"Make sure some fruits are packed for the young queen, she is rather picky with her food these days," Nyasha said to a young girl as they walked out of their house leaving for the wedding.
—————
"How is your day my love," Munya said with a smile.
"It going perfectly. Nyasha should arrive at the palace soon and I found a dress for tomorrow's party," she said with glee.
He smiled in triumph knowing she knew nothing of what was happening.
"Did you tell the designers what you wanted," he said having made sure she had some input.
"I did. They sent over the venue colours I just love everything. You know what, if becoming a king and business mogul becomes boring you, you should go into interior designing," she said.
"I'll take your word for it love," he murmured. "Are you coming over to the office?" He said softly as he walked out of his office coming across employees fighting.
"Munya what's happening?" She asked in a worried tone.
"It's nothing love just two grown men acting like children," he said becoming angry as he stopped in front of them.
As soon as they saw Munya they separated looking ashamed.
"Please don't be too harsh on them. It must have been something serious is they had to use their fists," she said in a pleading tone.
"As you wish my love," he said with a sigh.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too, see you at lunch time, the driver is on his way," he said.
——-
"Did you find out who the target is?" Neil asked his sister.
"Not yet. I'll have the men looking into it."
"Tell them to be fast I don't like that little prince. He always stirs trouble," Neil mumbled gripping the armrest in anger. If he had known his sister and brother in law had made business arrangements with Simba he would have stopped it before it even began.
"Calm down darling," he heard as he slowly relaxed turning to look at his wife.
"I just don't like it, that's all," he said as the captain announced they would soon be landing.
———
"I must thank you for taking me out for lunch this afternoon," Rudo said softly.
"Always a pleasure dining with you my dear wife," Munya said with a smile that she couldn't see. "I am sorry I had to leave right afterwards the emergency is being handled as we speak."
"What happened?"
"A water pipe burst and there were some employees close by luckily they did not get hurt," he said.
"Oh I hope they did go get a check-up at least just to make sure they are indeed well," she said in a concerned voice.
"Yes they did love. I have to go now but I'll see you tomorrow. I shall head back home so don't be late. I know my mother will try to keep you away from me," he said as she sighed.
"I shall try to not be late."
"Good night love," he said.
"Good night my king," she giggled hanging up as she heard his protests.
————
"Will you calm down for goodness sake? She will be here soon. It's not every day a king throws a surprise wedding. I must say you pulled it off well. Making her think she is attending a formal ball and not her own wedding," Marcel said with a smirk.
"You know me I do not stick to the norm and when it comes to Rudo I am going to make sure the very ground she walks on is worshiped," he said straightening his tie.
"I'm happy for you your highness. You deserve her," Marcel said.
Heading to the great hall where the wedding would be held he walked down the aisle seeing numerous family and friends, ambassadors and royals sat waiting to witness his union to Rudo.
————
"Nyasha hurry up!" Rudo said as she walked towards the door.
There was no mirror for her to see the handiwork of the stylist who had worked on her appearance.
"Did he have to pick a dress with a long train," she huffed as two young maidens walked towards her to assist her.
"You are a queen my dear, own the title," Nyasha smirked as she led the way out of the palace. She had told Rudo that his highness had requested she wear the dress.
Reaching their destination in record time she gasped at the opulence before her. It seemed everyone was already inside as they got out of the car.
"You need to put this on," Nyasha said as she held the veil nodding at one of the young maidens to assist.
"Why do I....oh my gosh...," she stopped speaking realizing what was happening. "Oh my gosh," she said shaking her head in disbelief. "This can't be," she said as Nyasha quickly dabbed at the tears that threatened to ruin her makeup.
"Stop crying and go in there and get your man or should I say your king," she smirked as she nodded for the doors to be opened.
Walking down the aisle she saw only him forgetting about the other guests. Nash stood at the door wearing a tux as Nyasha put her bouquet in her hands.
"Come on sister. Munya has been waiting for you," Nash said taking her hand in his little one.
Making their way towards Munya she was surprised to see his eyes glistening with tears as she wore a smile on her face.
Stopping in front of him Nash handed her over to Munya a right her own father should have fulfilled but he had lost that privilege long back.
The priest began to speak but it was clear none of them where paying attention as he asked Munya to say his vows as people began to murmur amongst themselves.
"Your highness," Munya heard Marcel whispered from behind him.
Snapping out of his trance he looked at the priest who looked worried.
"Your vows my king," the priest said.
"Forgive me," he said as he turned to look at Rudo once more.
Speaking clearly he proclaimed his love for her before the church as tears rolled down her cheeks. He reached out to brush them away as he held her hand.
Speaking form her heart she too professed her love as he smiled at her. A smile she only seemed to bring out of him as he looked into her eyes.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your queen my king," the priest announced as the crowd roared into shouts of joy and clapping. Looking at their entwined hands he brought her hand to his lips as he kissed her ring finger that was now endowed with his ring.
"I love everything," she whispered as they walked down the aisle heading to their room to change.
"I hope it's everything you wanted for a wedding."
"It's so much more," she said stopping to look at him as their security came to a halt.
Pulling her into his arms he smiled at her as she reached out to him as he leaned towards her.
"Thank you," she murmured against his lips as she showed him how thankful she was.
Pulling away from her slowly he took a deep breath before he said, "let's hurry everyone is waiting for us," he said.
Changing into a different attire he left her knowing she would need more time to prepare. Nodding at Vimbai he stepped out of the room as she entered closing the door.
Heading to attend to their guests he smiled at Marcel and Nyasha thanking them for pulling off the prefect surprise wedding.
"Where is your wife your highness?" Nyasha said looking behind him expecting to see her.
"Still getting ready," he said with a content smile. "Ladies require a lot of time to prepare.
"Yes she is a lady but if I know my friend very well she is time conscious," Nyasha said with a frown just as her brother showed up.
"Something is wrong," he whispered maintaining a smile on his face as though everything was well.
"The men you sent with Simba are dead," he said as Nyasha cursed underneath her breath. "The target was the queen," he said.
"What do you mean the target was the queen?" Munya growled.
"Exactly what I said," he said as Munya turned on his heel pointing to the captain of the guard and three other men to follow him.
Without knocking he barged into their room only to find Vimbai passed out on the floor. It was clear she had put up a fight and from the state of the room so had his wife.
"Prepare the men. Alert none of our guests. We are going hunting," Munya said as he removed his shirt walking into their closet.
"Keep everyone entertained," Munya ordered his mother and Neil as Nyasha spoke on her phone.
She was out for blood just like Munya was.
"You take the helicopter I will send you coordinates once we locate her," he said as he used a back entrance to escape the party.
"Neil inform the guests we have left for our honeymoon," he said looking at the ground seeing the footprints.
"Very well your highness."
——
"Please let me go. If it is money you need I can pay you," She whimpered as she tried to catch her breath.
Crying out in pain as the man twisted her wrist yanking her forward.
Tearing the beaded necklace from her neck she made sure they would not see the trail she was leaving.
Sadly one of the man saw her dropping a bead resulting in her being knocked out cold.
"You fool now we have to carry her. She is going to slow us down more than before," he spat before instructing the man to carry Rudo.
———
"Good girl," Munya smiled seeing the beads.
Raising his hand he stopped as the trail ended. Kneeling down he looked at the trail they had used. Two shoe prints where now visible as he realized her trail had been discovered. He looked up at the full moon that provided them with light as he prayed no harm had come to her.
Informing the men behind him to split up he knew they knew what to do when they found her first.
Following the path it became narrower as he used the tracking skills he had acquired during his training.
Taking a deep breath they moved silently listening for her.
———
Waking up she found herself flung over a shoulder as the man carried her with ease. Praying that the one chance she had would prove useful she cried out Munya's name as loud as she could before she was thrown onto the ground seeing the blade glistening before her eyes as the man dared her to make another sound.
————
Fear gripped him as he heard his name. Taking out his radio Munya spoke to Nyasha as he turned on the tracking device.
Running in the direction on the sound he stopped in his tracks as he saw the numerous man who had made camp right in the middle of the forest.
Their laughter was audible as one of them spoke to Simba.
His hand curled around the machete he was carrying. Handing over the blade to his man he nodded to his man to get into position.
A bird-like whistle signalled the others who had circled the camp by now to prepare themselves.
————
Gripping his spear tightly he handed over his firearm to one of his men before he stepped out of the bushes.
"Simba!" He called out as the man stopped chattering looking at Munya.
His eyes scanned the crowd looking for her. Seeing her strapped to a pole, her mouth gagged as tears ran down her cheeks she shook her head no seeing Munya alone fearing for his life more than her own.
Simba smirked seeing his brother.
"The mighty king has come to save his bride," he chuckled as he moved towards Rudo untying her from the pole. "Come get her," he smirked as the men raised their firearms.
"You never do change do you Simba? Always hiding behind other man like the coward you are. Now I have a proposition for you gentlemen," Munya said as he held his ground not at least worried that several guns where pointed at him.
"You see the woman you have there is the queen of the very land you are standing on. The one who harmed her is surely going to die by my hand. The one who harms me will die by hers this I am certain. And of course, if any harm comes to either of us then they have a nation to fight if our blood is spilled," he said looking at Rudo.
She had stopped struggling and looked calm.
"This is just a taste of who you will have to fight," he said raising his hand as men slowly moved out of the bushes revealing themselves. Each man had a partner. One had a shield in front of him whilst the other had a gun aimed at the threat.
They visibly paled stepping back as they realized who indeed it was.
"You told us she was a maiden. Not the queen of this land," one of the man snarled facing Simba.
"Well either way I paid you good money so finish the job," he spat.
It was clear they were afraid but if they surrendered death would have been a better option for the man before them was far worse than the most ruthless of all mafia's, he was a man whose wife had been taken away from him, a man whose pregnant wife had been harmed.
Taking a step towards his wife Simba tightened his hold on her arm making her cry in pain as she tried to get out of his firm hold.
"Let her go and settle your dispute with me," Munya said as he kept walking towards them.
The hired guns stood nervously their firearms pointed towards Munya as he came to a halt in front of one of the man.
"You dare point those barrels at your king!" Munyas' voice boomed as he looked at the other men who took a step backwards in fear.
"Get the car," he heard Simba yell as a young boy ran towards a vehicle.
Dragging Rudo with him towards the car Munya watched closely as he shoved her into the car.
"Lower your firearms or else," Munya said watching his brother rush to the driver's seat.
Doing as told the man threw their guns to the ground as the royal guard rushed forward arresting the man. As this was happening Munya saw Nyasha approaching them in a helicopter. Signalling her to guide him from above he gave a sharp whistle as Whisper ran towards him. He had already given instructions for men on horseback to follow with his horse as backup.
"Only two of you," he growled as he rode off leaving the rest of his men behind.
-------
Simba drove recklessly as he shouted at Rudo to stop crying. He did not see the fallen tree that was blocking the road thus his reflexes where so slow he did not have time to step on the car brakes as they slammed directly into the tree. Both not being secured in the vehicle where thrown out of the car. The sound of hooves is what he heard first before he heard his brothers' voice yelling orders.
Finding strength he reached for Rudo holding a blade to her throat as Munya and his men circled around them on horseback.
"I am going to say this only once. Release my wife before I cut off that hand," he growled coming to a halt in front of them looking at the blade on Rudo's throat.
Fear was written all over her face as she struggled to get free. Stomping on his foot he let out a string of curses as he released her pushing her to the ground resulting in her hitting her head against a rock before she could catch her fall.
As he was about to do far more damage the cord of a whip cut off his air supply as he reached for his throat.
"Drag him back to the palace," he said. "Make it slow," Munya growled looking at his brother before he focused his attention on Rudo.
"Love open your eyes for me," he whispered as he looked at the shard of glass stuck in her arm from the car crash. Blood trickled down her face as she looked at him trying to speak. Signalling Nyasha to move to a clearing he lifted Rudo onto his horse talking to her to keep her awake.
"I need you to stay awake love," he whispered into her ear as he pushed his horse to move faster. Moving towards the helicopter he was grateful when he found his physician inside thanking Nyasha for her forward thinking. Laying her on the floor of the aircraft he watched as his wife succumbed to darkness passing out before his very eyes. Grabbing a hold of the physician by the collar his next words had the grown man terrified.
"If anything happens to her you will beg to join your ancestors," he growled releasing the man as he quickly tended to the queen.
"Calm down your highness," Nyasha said.
"Calm down! You should have made sure you knew who the f**k your client was after!" he yelled as Nyasha remained silent knowing this was anger speaking.
"For that I am at fault," she said looking down at her friend. Her attire was blood stained as the physician tried to stop the bleeding where he had removed the glass.
Looking ahead he saw the tree house lights sighing in relief as they would soon settle her down. He took a deep breath trying to calm himself.
Nyasha came to stand beside him worry written all over her face. It was rare to see her in such a state.
"Forgive me," he sighed as he turned to look at her.
"Already forgiven Munya. It is I who should ask for forgiveness," she said.
With a simple head nod she knew all differences had been set aside.
"Tell her I'm sorry," she said before turning to leave. Watching as the helicopter carried away Nyasha and the physician he went inside their house. Climbing into bed he pulled her towards him resting her head on his shoulder as he listened to her steady breathing. Each time he closed his eyes he saw her tear stained face as she was tied to that pole. He thanked the Lord that she was safe in his arms and that their babies were also safe.
-----------
"Good morning," he said as she opened her eyes.
Looking around her she looked at him once more before responding to his greeting. Looking at her arm she frowned before looking at him as her hands went to her belly.
"You are fine love. The babies are fine," he said taking her hands in his as he placed his lips upon her open palm. Flicking his tongue out she giggled at his playful greeting.
"What happened after...," she asked as he silenced her by placing a finger upon her lips.
"Don't worry about what happened," he murmured pulling her onto him as she looked down at him.
Slowly sitting up he placing his hands on her thighs as she rested her hands on his chest looking at him.
"You should be resting love," he said seeing the mischievous glint in her eyes as he looked at the bandage wrapped around her head.
"You could help me...." she said with a smile.
————
Waking up she found him not in bed reaching for the rose that lay in his place. A few seconds passed before he returned holding a tray.
"For my queen," he smiled kissing her head before sitting beside her.
"Thank you," She said with a blush.
"You cooked for me?" She said in excitement.
"Of course who else will I cook for if not you my wife," he said with pride as she held the sheet up to cover herself with her good hand.
Chuckling he stood up returning with a T-shirt for her helping her put it on.
"Eat up now. I need to change your bandages afterwards," he said softly as she twirled the pasta on her fork.
Feeding him as well she giggled noticing he had some sauce on his lip. Reaching towards him she pulled him towards her licking the sauce his eyes turning a shade darker.
"No, you must rest. Let's make a deal, once you are better we can take a vacation to any place you want. Then I can make love and f**k you into ecstasy without any interruptions," he said.
She gave him a questioning look with a raised eyebrow as a smiled slowly appeared.
"No interruptions?"
"None at all. I will be all yours to do with as you please. But right now we need to head back to the palace. Our guests should have left and Simba should be arriving right about now from his long walk back there."
Finishing up her food, they showered before the helicopter arrived to take them back home.
-----------
Walking into the throne room hand in hand he smiled at her as she held her head up high. He was impressed with how her confidence was slowly building up with each passing day. Everyone bowed before them as he helped her take her throne before sitting down in his own similar throne.
"Your highness," Matthias said bowing at their feet with two other man behind him holding the royal crowns. "We must finish the rights to your union," he said indicating the crowns. "You already wield the royal spear as a symbol of your power, but you are yet to give that power to her highness," he said looking down before raising his head to look at his king.
Standing up Munya took a single step down as he looked at Matthias raising his hand for the man to stand up. Doing so Matthias took the crown handing it over to Munya.
Turning away from them he looked at her asking her to stand up. With a smile he placed the crown on her head telling her what was expected. She slowly moved towards Matthias as he held out another crown towards her. Receiving it she turned to her husband who looked at her. Looking at him he chuckled as he bent his knees to allow her to place the crown on his head. Smiling in triumph he took her hand in his pulling her towards him as he leaned down brushing his lips against hers. Stepping away from her he turned to face his council members and heads of state.
"Your queen," he simply said as the man roared into a chorus of cheering and clapping.
He did not miss her slight sway as she stood beside him. Wrapping his arm around her waist he pulled her closer to him as she held onto him for support.
"Leave us," he said in a dismissive tone.
As the doors closed he scooped her into his arms carrying her to their room glad when she did not protest.
"Rest now love," he murmured as she held onto his shirt stopping him from moving away.
"Don't leave me," she whispered as he nodded his head in understanding.
Climbing into bed beside her she lay had head on his chest listening to the steady beat of his heart. Running her hands down his chest he stopped her from going further down.
"We had a deal remember," he said bringing her hand to his lips as he parted his lips taking each finger into his mouth as he teased her with his tongue and lips.
Stroking her back in a soothing manner he lulled her to sleep before untangling himself from her as she practically lay on him.
Leaving the room he made sure the guards were on alert as he also informed Vimbai to call him if anything happened. Walking towards the courtyard he found his brother lying on the ground as the afternoon sun scorched his back. A single wave of his hand had a man throwing a bucket of cold water on him as he woke with a start.
"Why did it have to come to this?" Munya questioned as his brother looked at him with so much hatred. "What crime did I commit against you that you would harm my heart," he said watching Simba stand to his full height, but still no answer came from him.
