Chapter 11: Unhappy

Marco and Divina's good relationship has now become tainted these past few days due to Alfredo's arrival. Divina noticed how Marco had been intentionally avoiding her at all costs. Even though she is sad by this, she is forcing herself to become used to this kind of set up. They're almost not talking with each other anymore and everyone around them had noticed this sudden change between them too. They all wondered what happened as if they have had a very big argument and weren't able to make up yet. But all their questions had been answered when they all witnessed a handsome man waiting for Divina outside the school when they were all about to go home. 'Divina, you should introduce this good-looking guy who has been waiting patiently for you.", Maria teased but was really curious deep inside. Divina nodded and she introduce Alfredo to her workmates. 'This is Alfredo… my lover.", Divina said and everyone cheered for her happily. 'At last! There's someone who has captured your heart, Divina!", Maria teased again. 'I think no one had captured Divina's heart from the start except me. We had been loving each other for a long time already.", Alfredo smiled in a charming way. Everyone stared dreamily at the couple, wanting to have a sweet man like Alfredo for themselves too. 'Such a conceited guy.", Divina laughed but her smiles vanished away when she saw Marco passing by them. She felt sad once again, their bond seems to be long gone already, no trace of how close they were once. Maria followed Divina's eyes and understood why her friend suddenly looked sad. Maria thought of an idea and is planning to do it as soon as possible. The next day… 'Divina! Hurry! Everyone is waiting for you in the music room already!", Maria said to Divina as they hurriedly ran to the music room. 'What's with this abrupt meeting? It's time to go home already. Alfredo's waiting for me, he might get angry.", Divina complained but still continued following her friend. 'This won't take long.", Maria commented as she opened the door to the music room, and with a blink of an eye, she suddenly pushed Divina inside and immediately locked the door from the outside. 'Hey! Maria?! What are you doing?!", Divina yelled as she tries to open the door. 'I'll leave you there! Bye!", Maria laughed. 'Maria!!! I told you, Alfredo's waiting for me! He'll get angry! This is not funny!", Divina yelled angrily as she bangs the door… but no one answered. She sighed and fell silent for a moment. 'You don't want to be with me anymore, do you?", Marco suddenly said behind her. Divina was so shocked to see him there. 'M-Marco!", Divina was surprised. It was their first time to be together again. Marco looks different, he seems to have become serious and seldom smiles anymore. She too had changed because most of the time, she only follows Alfredo… what she must say, what she must wear, what she should eat, or how to behave… everything is decided by Alfredo. It was only a short span of time but they had become distant from each other, their gap widens each passing day… and so they change too. 'Do you want me to play you a piece?", Marco asked. Divina nodded in awkward silence. They were both quiet as Marco played the piano inside the music room. He played his own composition but just like everything has its own end, so does his music. Divina couldn't help herself when suddenly her tears fell from her eyes. She cried. The music made her cry. 'Why are you crying? You're with Alfredo already…", Marco sadly said. 'Marco…", is what all Divina could say. Marco looked at her tears then to her eyes and went over her. He touched her cheek and wiped his tears with his thumb. 'You should be happy, right?", Marco asked. Divina couldn't answer, she doesn't know what to say, she is too confused and too overwhelmed with emotions. 'My poor Beloved…", Marco sadly said and bent over to hug Divina. Divina cried harder when Marco hugged her, she hugs her back tightly. She misses him so much but they both know that they could no longer return to the way they were used to be. This is their goodbye. A goodbye to their three years of happiness together. As Maria hurriedly runs away from the music room and left Marco and Divina inside so they could talk with each other sincerely, she saw Alfredo waiting outside the school near the gate. Maria secretly laughed at him because he looks irritated and impatient while waiting for Divina. However, she was surprised to see he is with a beautiful woman and she was even more shocked to see that this woman suddenly kissed Divina's lover on the lips. After a few moments, the woman slapped Alfredo on his cheek and left him alone. Alfredo stayed in his position for a few minutes and then looked at his watch. He realized it's getting late already and maybe Divina had gone home already, so he decided to leave the area too. Divina must know her lover's infidelity even though it might hurt her., Maria thought and felt pity for her friend. Though she doesn't want to be judgmental but Divina is a kind woman and she doesn't want her friend to end up getting hurt by a cheater. She decided to tell Divina when the time is right because she doesn't want to look like she is maligning her lover. Sometimes, when a person is too in love with someone, they might turn a blind eye to their lover's wrongdoings and at times it even ends up in broken friendships when one doesn't want to receive the good advice. She doesn't want that to happen with Divina. It has been a few days already when Divina and Marco had last talked with each other in the music room but it didn't help to mend their close relationship with each other. In fact, it just simply closes their ###Chapter, it's like there had never been a Marco and Divina bond at all. There are no traces left of their closeness. Marco is elusive even though Divina still steals glances at him at times. Divina felt heavy in her heart every time she looks at Marco and she fully understands that he is no longer with her anymore. She feels regretful and hurt but she knows this is the right thing to do because she already has a lover. However, she hasn't fully accepted it yet but Marco had seemed to move on with her already. He has erased her in his life already. 'Divina!", Alfredo waved happily at Divina when he waited for her at the entrance of the school. Divina noticed that even though Alfredo was smiling at her, he seemed to be exhausted. Divina smiled back at Alfredo as he goes to him. 'Let's eat first before walking you home.", Alfredo said. Divina just nodded without knowing that Marco is looking at them from afar. Divina and Alfredo were about to go inside an expensive restaurant when someone blocked their way. 'ALFREDO!", a woman yelled then suddenly attacked Divina, grabbing her by the hair. Divina was both hurt and shocked, she wasn't able to comprehend yet what is happening and what this woman is doing to her. Alfredo went over to protect Divina against the madwoman. 'IS IT YOU?! Are you that b*tch who stole my husband?! Divina Aljuego, you HOMEWRECKER!", the woman yelled so loud that she caught everyone's attention there. 'BELEN! PLEASE STOP ALREADY!", Alfredo also yelled at the woman who attacked Divina. Divina was so terrified, never in her thoughts, she had been expecting to encounter such an experience. 'Are you crazy?!", Alfredo yelled again as he tries to stop Belen from attacking Divina. Belen keeps on struggling to free herself from Alfredo. 'YES! I am crazy because of that seductress!", Belen yelled back and cried as she pointed at Divina. Divina was speechless but now she had realized the gravity of what is happening now. She looked at the people who began to surround them curiously. They were all glaring at Divina as they whisper at each other. 'Why are you here?! Aren't you done interfering and ruining my life already?!", Alfredo angrily yelled back at Belen. Divina remained silent and she just watches Alfredo and Belen yelling against each other. She was embarrassed and she felt so low. Never in her dreams, she had thought to become a mistress, a lewd woman, a seductress, stealing someone's husband. She is not this type of woman. She has dignity. 'Why?! Are you scared that this homewrecker would know that I am now currently carrying your child?!", Belen yelled again. Divina was so shocked at what she just heard. 'WHAT?! Are you delusional?! I never touch any part of you, not even your belongings because I hated you so much! I hate you and your despicable family!", Alfredo, still couldn't contain his anger. Divina was scared that he might end up hurting Belen in front of many people. Whispers around them had become louder. Divina is not used to this kind of attention. 'I am telling you the truth, Alfredo! You are the father of this child in my womb! I have no reason to lie!", Belen cried. 'Yes, you have! Because you're crazy! You're obsessed with me!", Alfredo continues to shout at Belen. 'Don't believe her words, Divina… she is lying. She is desperate and is determined to separate us.", Alfredo tried to explain to Divina but she couldn't focus on to him. Divina is too overwhelmed by what is happening and she just looks around the people glaring angrily at her. 'You must be kidding, Alfredo! YOU ARE MINE! If I can't have you then I will kill myself!", Belen threatened. Divina was horrified with Belen's words and she hurriedly ran away from them to escape the peering eyes of the people around her. 'Isn't she that teacher from the school near here?" 'Yes! She is actually a homewrecker!" 'So embarrassing! A teacher homewrecker!" 'An immoral teacher!" 'A teacher stealing someone else's husband!" 'You better watch your husband, she might end up seducing him from you!" 'Poor wife! She's even pregnant." 'That teacher is pretty, why is she even scared of losing men and had to choose someone who is already committed?" 'Pretty?! That face? She should be burned at stake! She's a witch!" 'DIVINAAAA!!!", Alfredo tried to chase after Divina but Belen stopped him. 'I WILL KILL MYSELF, ALFREDO! I WILL KILL MYSELF!", Belen once again threatened but Alfredo just brushes her off and tried to free himself from her grasp. 'Chase her and I will ruin that woman's life!!!", Belen continued to threaten Alfredo but he pushed her hard to free himself. Belen fell to the ground but it didn't matter to Alfredo because he ran to find Divina. What matters to him is only Divina. Everyone is shocked to see what had just happened. Divina found herself at the place where she and Marco had constantly met, under the big tree near their school. This is where they would talk, joke, and this is where she would seek advice from Marco. She cried when she remembered Marco. It was confusing because she was supposed to cry for his lover, Alfredo… but she was thinking about Marco. Why is she sad, not because of what happened earlier but because… Marco is no longer here? She can only run unto him but he is not here anymore. Divina felt really sad and down, she wanted to see Marco but she couldn't face him anymore because she is now being called a low-life woman with no dignity. She doesn't even want this to happen. Marco… Marco… you are right. I am indeed unhappy with Alfredo because I was only happy when… I was with you., Divina cried.
