Chapter 3
Ingrid's POV
"Mom, can't I really come?" Raya asked me.
'Do you really want to? I will take you with me if you want," I said but she immediately think about it. She can't really go because she has a lot of friends and a plant to look after.
"But, Mom, can I come with my friends and my plants?" she asked. Irah and I both laughed at her.
"How can you take that there?" Sandro asked her with a laugh.
"All right. If you can bag that, bring it with you," my sister teased Raya who is now frowning.
"I will miss you, Mom," she told me before she tried to hug me. I couldn't help but smile as I hugged her back.
'I'll miss you too. Why don't you just come with me? Just plant another plant there, "I told her. She immediately pouted because of what I said.
"I will join on the field day, Nay," she said. He also didn't really want to come because of the org she joined with. It was plant day for the kids. She was the one who wanted to join there and I also gave in because when she was young, she was already taking care of some plants. She likes nature so much.
"Ate Jolie and I will follow you, Nay," she said so I nodded. Her hug tightened until she already want me to carry her.
"My baby is already 6 but still wants to be carried, hmm…" I laughed at her. Her Uncle and Aunt teased her but she ignored them.
'They were going to tease me here, Nay. I won't have an ally like you," she said so I laughed even more.
"Try to make her cry and you know what will happen…" I said, still narrowing my eyes at my siblings. My daughter doesn't really cry that much but she was easily annoyed.
I will go to Manila tomorrow for the workshop. After one year of just studying online. This time, I will be going to the workshop personally. It's a vacation from school again so I didn't really want to miss the opportunity.
I would really go to Manila with Raya but we decided not to. Raya wants to stay here for a while because she wanted to come to their field day while my sibling doesn't really want her to go with me since she's really everyone's a happy pill. They don't want to leave the house but after one week she will follow me to Manila. I will also not allow my child not to be with me for a month. I'll miss her immediately.
She's just really going to end the field day and be next to me with Jolie. Jolie really wanted to go to Manila so I gave in when she said she wanted to go there.
We went to Raya's room. My daughter is a heavy sleeper. She fell asleep in less than a few minutes. I just smiled as I watched her face. She really inherited a lot from her father. The long eyelashes, the dimple, eyes, and nose as well as curly hair. She only got my lips and my skin complexion. She's Indigo's daughter indeed. I bit my lip when I remembered Indigo again.
The last time I saw him was 1 year ago. After the shoot at school, I can't forget him. I thought I had really moved on but I only saw him for one day, I had already thought about him for another year. Well, that was also my chance to say that he had a child but in the end, I didn't really say anything which I really regret.
Maybe when I just go to Manila, I'll tell him about our daughter.
I looked at his business card which I never called. I'll call him maybe when I'm already there. He also deserves to know. I don't know anymore.
The next day I also do things early. I already had an apartment to rent in Manila. All I have to do is to bring myself there.
"I'll go now," I said. I saw Raya shedding tears. I can't stop biting my lips. It was as if I suddenly wanted to just stay here. I won't be able to see her for another week. I don't know if I can take it. I'll miss her so much.
"Uhm… be careful, Mom," she said to me while holding back her tears. I don't know if I laugh or what because she trying to stand like a big girl.
They just took me to the bus station. I just keep on reminding them about Raya. 'It doesn't matter if they hate me, I just don't really want them to forget those things my daughter needs.
While on the bus I immediately thought of Raya. I was just upset because I immediately missed the child. My trip was fast because I fell asleep right away on the bus.
I didn't bring my car yet because Dad will also use it for some stock at our grocery store. Also, I might just be late if I use it here in Manila.
When I arrived in Manila, I couldn't help but look around. Until this day, it is still the same. Traffic and smoky but my mind seems to be flooded with memories because this is where I grew up. Bitter and sweet. Like coffee. I couldn't help but grin when I went down.
In 6 years, this is the first time I set foot here in Manila again so I can't help to look around.
When I got to the apartment where I was staying, I just texted Jolie and Irah. They immediately called. Raya immediately opened up. I immediately got up from my seat when I heard her crying.
"Nanay, I miss you." Before I left, she said that she was a big girl. I pouted because this is the first time I really left her in our house. She always joins me even on a school trip.
"Big Sister, I'm sorry. Before you left, Raya acting so strong. But when you left, she just started crying," Irah said. I scratched my head before video calling them. I talked to Raya in depth.
"If you want to be with Mom, Ate Jolie will come with you here now," I told her.
"What about my field day, Nanay?" she asked, her eyes still puffed up.
"Calie will make me jealous," she said, still frowning.
"It's up to you… I'll let you decide," I said.
'Can I think about it the whole day?" she asked so I laughed softly.
'Alright…" I said. The two of us just talked while I was getting ready. She also doesn't like to end it and I don't really mind talking with her even if she has so many questions.
After that, she decided that she'll stay for a week in Nueva Ecija first and after the field day, she will come here immediately.
I also didn't sleep right away that night. I just watched her fall asleep after we talked. She was in the middle of Jolie and Irah so they are really noisy too.
The next day, I was ready for the workshop. The excitement I felt was surreal. I was just wearing mom's jeans and a polo, I didn't button the first two.
When it was finally settled, I just took a jeep to the media star academy, where the workshops were taking place. I forgot that there are so many people here every morning. I'm used to Nueva Ecija where the jeep doesn't fill up or sometimes you can easily ride on the tricycle.
I felt I was already early in the morning. The staff just greeted me when I got there. They guided me to the docking room of the workshop. I was just carrying the camera that I had also accumulated. Somehow I also make money while editing.
I just sat in the middle part of the room. There are also a lot of people here.
I almost shivered in nervousness when I saw who was going to teach us. It's Indigo. So for 1 month will I really see him every single day?
"Good morning," he said. I almost shudder at the coldness of his voice. It's very far away from the Indigo I know. But you can see the playful smile on his lips.
I looked at those people beside me who were really thrilled while staring at the speaker Indigo. There's even a teenager who's shivering from excitement while looking at him. It looks like he's the one who she came here for. It is also undeniable that Indigo is really famous on social media as a hot producer. I feel that he is even more famous than other artists with the number of followers on his accounts. Wow, Ingrid, you're not obviously a stalker.
I just shook myself and just focused my eyes on the front. I sat up straight when his eyes look at me. There was a trace of shock on his face when he saw me. I smiled at him.
"Let's start." His face immediately look so distant before he looked around the room.
Then he also began to teach. I just kept quiet while listening. Even though I was distracted from time to time, I still tried to focus because it would be a waste of the money I paid for this, it's a pity if I won't be able to learn something.
.
'Mr. Cornel, what about you? What is your secret to why you are so successful now?" they asked. I heard a little laugh from Indigo.
'Hmm? I can't say that I'm already successful. I still have a long way to go," he said here. He looks intimidating by his look but casual and he seems to be just chatting while teaching. But you can say that you can really learn a lot from him because he is that good. He has always been like that. It's even much better now.
He only taught simple things today because the real class would start tomorrow.
We looked at a girl who smiled tenderly at Indigo when he looked at her. She's asking something.
'May I ask what I should do? I don't really know how to use this," she said, showing his camera. My forehead wrinkled slightly because of that. I thought this class was already advanced?
Indigo approached him. He even returned the woman's smile to him. I can't help but remember completely when we were in college. The time when he also teaches me things like that. Don't think about the past now, Ingrid. You will only suffer.
One after another, they ask things to him. I can't help but wonder there. I just shook my head and kept my eyes on my camera.
"It doesn't look like they went for the class, it looks like it's the teacher they really wanted to see," a man next to me said with a laugh.
"Hi," he greeted me when I didn't look back at him.
"I'm Jacob," he introduced himself, reaching his hand to me.
"Ingrid," I said with a smile. Shaking hands is no longer fashionable. I just close my eyes because he still doesn't take those off. I just accepted because I also don't want him to be embarrassed.
'Avoid talking to each other. Please listen as much as possible, it's a waste of what you paid for, isn't it? " Indigo asked while he was smiling. He's already in front now. You idiot, you're wasting our time teaching basic information that they should already know before they enter here.
Wow, why are you so angry, Ingrid?
I just shook myself and turned my eyes back to him. I almost jumped in shock when I saw that his eyes were already on me. He didn't even avoid my eyes. His eyebrows just rose up when I smiled at him. I winced when he turned to the others as if ignoring my smile again.
While listening to him, I can't help but be proud. He was really that good. He went through a lot. He deserves all of these.
When the lesson ended, I would have waited for everyone to come out before I went out to greet him but I also saw many students waiting. I just shrugged before walking outside.
"Ingrid, something fell," he said as I passed in front of him. I see my keychain in his hand.
"Oh, thanks," I said with a smile.
'Indigo," I called to him as he turned away from me. He turned to me in surprise that I called him.
'It took me years to say this to you but I really want to congratulate you. Sincerely, I'm proud of you, Indigo," I said smiling at him.
