Chapter 3

'Gabriella, tie my tie for me."
'Gabriella..."
Jayden paused momentarily with the tie in his hands, then awkwardly tied it.
Since when had Gabriella stopped tying his tie for him?
It seemed to be after Sherry had appeared.
Sherry's phone call came in.
'Jayden, are you still coming to pick me up at the company today?"
'No."
Jayden hung up without hesitation.
'Gabriella, I rejected Sherry. Will you come back?"
He sent the message and then stared blankly at the screen.
Until the page was pressed down, he didn't receive a reply.
'She must still be angry with me."
Jayden picked up the car keys next to him and drove to the company.
Halfway there, he received an unfamiliar call.
'Hello! Are you Gabriella's family?"
'Her body is currently in the morgue and needs to be claimed by the family."
Jayden listened patiently to the other party finish and then hung up the phone calmly.
His hand on the steering wheel trembled slightly, and the car crashed into the guardrail without warning.
There was a loud bang.
Jayden came back to his senses.
It was only a minor injury.
In the hospital, Sherry was rushed into the ward.
'Jayden, are you okay?" She was so anxious that tears were about to fall.
Jayden pushed her hand away.
'I'm fine."
Sherry's face was pale, and she trembled as she tried to help him forward.
'Don't touch me!!!" Jayden's forehead was covered in veins, and his eyes looked at Sherry with detachment and indifference.
'I'm just worried about you,"
Sherry cried.
Jayden would have rushed over to comfort her if it had been before.
But now, a huge panic enveloped him, as if he had lost the most important thing to him.
The last time he saw Gabriella came to mind.
She was standing before him, smiling, her face haggard, as if she had been preparing for her departure for a long time.
Two days later, the phone rang again.
'Gabriella, have you had enough? Is it fun to play this game over and over again?"
Until he received news from Gabriella's colleague:
'Hello Jayden, Gabriella had an accident two days ago and passed away. You are the only relative..."
Jayden turned down all his work and went to the hospital.
He was led to Gabriella by the staff.
However, Gabriella was now a cold corpse covered in a white cloth.
Jayden walked forward shakily and lifted the cloth.
A familiar face came into view.
The face was as white as paper, and the large and small scars on it revealed what the owner had experienced before she died.
The person before him would never smile at him again, nor would she look at him tenderly.
Her eyes were tightly shut, and no matter how Jayden cried and begged for mercy, she never opened them to look at him again.

It took a long time for Jayden to come to his senses.
He asked the staff member next to him, 'Why did the car accident happen?"
'The police said that Ms. Tang's car collided with a truck, and Ms. Tang and the driver died on the spot,"
'According to the description of the truck driver and the surveillance video, for some reason, Ms. Tang's vehicle suddenly changed lanes, which caused the collision."
After Jayden left, the staff handed him his belongings.
A mobile phone and a necklace.
Jayden remembered the necklace.
When he and Gabriella first got together, they would deliberately take some time to hang out with her.
Once they went to the mall, Gabriella was attracted to this necklace.
But after looking at the price, she couldn't afford it.
So Jayden secretly bought it for her.
He still remembers Gabriella's delighted expression when she received the necklace.
'Jayden, will you put it on for me?"
He put it on for her, and it stayed on for three years, never being taken off until the day she died.
Jayden went to the hotel Gabriella had booked.
It was as if he could still feel Gabriella's presence.
The suitcase on the floor was wide open, and the clothes she had taken off were thrown on the bed haphazardly.
There was also a half-empty bottle of mineral water on the table.
Jayden went in and tidied Gabriella's things.
When he left, he found a piece of paper on the bedside table.
It was full of writing: 'I never want to like Jayden again."
Back home, Jayden opened Gabriella's phone.
He found that the night of the accident, he had called himself.
The last call showed 1 minute and 23 seconds.
So he took out his own phone again, and there were no call records on it.
He thought of Sherry.
'Hello, Jayden, what's up so late?"
'Did you use my phone to answer Gabriella's call before?"
'What are you talking about? I don't understand."
'Gabriella is dead."
There was a sigh on the other end of the line.
'How is that possible?"
Yes, how is that possible? A perfectly healthy person just disappeared.
The day of the funeral.
It was drizzling.
Jayden stood holding flowers in front of the tombstone. Sherry was also there.
'Get lost, Gabriella doesn't want to see you."
'Jayden..." Sherry burst into tears again. She was such a crybaby.
'I told you to get lost."
Jayden's bloodshot eyes were about to burst into flames.
Sherry was provoked by him and had a fit on the spot.
She coughed uncontrollably, coughing up blood. Jayden was beside her but didn't even look at her.
In the end, she was taken away by ambulance.
No one was in the cemetery, and Jayden stood alone before the tombstone.
It wasn't until now that he fully accepted that Gabriella had left.
In the days after Gabriella's death, Jayden didn't eat or drink.
Finally unable to bear it anymore, he fainted in the cemetery.
Chris took him to the hospital.
In the hospital bed, Jayden shouted in alarm, 'Gabriella, don't leave me."
When he opened his eyes, all he could see was white.
'You've finally woken up. It's just a lover who died, so what's the big deal?"
Yes, in everyone's eyes, Gabriella was just a lover that Jayden kept.
Only she silently regarded herself as his girlfriend.
And Jayden never admitted it.
Hearing Chris's words, Jayden angrily jumped out of bed.
He ignored Chris and pushed him against the wall.
'I won't let you talk about her like that; she was my beloved.
