Chapter 15 You Like My Sister
Nicholas and John are not cut from the same cloth.
But —
John's face is also enough to cause trouble.
"Olivia," David sat on the edge of the bed, stroking her hair.
Olivia looked up.
"Try to have less contact with your boss," David advised.
Olivia didn't understand, but she knew her brother was always right.
Seeing that she had agreed, David didn't intend to stay longer. "I won't disturb you while you watch your show. Get some sleep early; you've got panda eyes."
"I know, I know. Why are you like Mom?"
The way he nagged made it obvious that he was her real brother.
After finishing the series, it was already ten, but Olivia still couldn't sleep.
Oh, how she wished to go traveling.
Olivia drifted into a half-sleep state.
"John, I really want to visit the Alps."
The man's voice was deep: "I'll accompany you."
Olivia could see the metal buttons on his shirt and even his hands clearly, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't see his face.
John? Who is John?
Olivia didn't sleep well again.
The next day was the script discussion meeting.
Olivia arrived at work on time. Outside the company, many fans were waiting, mostly for Nicholas.
Last time, she had met the original author in person.
"Game of Thrones" was a suspenseful and supernatural work, not overly scary, but if you followed the reasoning, it would send shivers down your spine.
Especially the final murderer, who was completely unexpected.
Also unexpectedly, the author of the book was incredibly cute.
It was a charming contrast.
When they arrived at the conference room, a few young actors had already arrived. They greeted each other, and Olivia found her seat with her name on it, then opened the script.
The producer glanced at Olivia. She had heard that John had personally picked her as the lead actress.
Everyone had been favoring the rising star from Starry Entertainment, who had both popularity and acting skills. No one knew why John chose this newcomer.
Nicholas arrived soon. It was Olivia's first time attending a script meeting, and she had scenes with Nicholas, which made her nervous.
Nicholas was surprised to see her.
His agent had told him that Olivia, the new signing from Jones Family Entertainment, was the lead actress for "Game of Thrones."
But he didn't expect Olivia to be the girl who came to his pottery shop to learn.
Nicholas smiled at her, and Olivia waved slightly in response.
The script meeting ended.
Olivia left, with Nicholas following behind her.
"That cup is very nice," he remarked.
The man's voice was deep, making Olivia's heart race.
"That's because you taught me well," Olivia replied.
As soon as Olivia finished speaking, both of them were taken aback.
Nicholas asked, "How did you get here?"
"By car."
Olivia regretted her words. Why did she say she drove? If she hadn't spoken, she could have hitchhiked a ride back.
Mainly because seeing Nicholas from such a close distance had made Olivia overjoyed and confused.
She really liked Nicholas a lot.
"This is for you," Nicholas handed Olivia a small box, smiling, "As a return gift for the cup you gave me last time."
Olivia got into her car and couldn't wait to open the gift.
Nicholas had given her a sparkling bracelet, stunningly beautiful.
Olivia knew the brand; this bracelet was at least worth over $20,000. Olivia bit her lip; this gift was too valuable.
Her cup was worthless in comparison.
...
After Nicholas got into his car, his agent handed him a water bottle.
"Do you know Olivia?"
Initially, they thought the rising star from Starry Entertainment would be the lead actress. She was famous, had many rumors, but also had many loyal fans and a good reputation among the public.
It was originally a win-win situation, but unexpectedly, the lead actress was Olivia, who had no fame at all.
The agent was somewhat frustrated.
Nicholas was quiet, especially when it came to girls.
Seeing him actively talk to Olivia just now, the agent felt like the sun had risen from the west.
"Yeah, she came to my brother's pottery shop."
Nicholas finished speaking and closed his eyes.
The agent scratched his head; was that all?
The air conditioning in the car was sufficient, so the agent took a blanket and covered Nicholas.
Nicholas's eyelashes fluttered.
The girl's eyes were clear and pure. That day, while making pottery, he had been distracted.
He thought for a moment and turned to ask, "What's Olivia's contact information?"
The agent: ?
...
Knowing that she had signed with the Jones Family, Donald was upset. To please his parents, Olivia went back home.
She cooked several dishes herself, put them on the dining table, and went to the study to invite her parents.
Olivia stood behind Donald like a lapdog, massaging his shoulders.
"Dad, look how amazing your daughter is. Jones Family Entertainment is very selective, and I was able to sign a contract right after graduation, which means I have the potential to succeed in this industry. Mr. John is a big boss with a sharp eye, right?"
Donald snorted.
"Dad, you've worked hard. It's time for me to earn money and take care of you both."
Donald snorted again.
The Taylor family was wealthy; how much money could Olivia earn from acting for eight years?
He didn't even bother looking at that amount of money.
Besides, girls from the Taylor family didn't need money; they just needed to live happily. Why go into acting?
"Dad, there's more. I'm in the same agency as my idol Nicholas."
This time, Donald finally stopped snorting.
He knew Nicholas; the person on the large poster hanging in Olivia's room was him.
"Don't you want to marry him?"
Upon hearing this, Olivia blushed.
She had indeed said that before, naively shouting with her best friend every day about marrying Nicholas years ago.
Thinking about it, she had liked Nicholas for a long time.
About seven years.
Seven years, and it had never changed.
"What children say doesn't count," Olivia touched her face.
Donald glanced at her; even her denial spoke volumes, didn't it?
"If you want to go, I won't stop you. But there's only one rule: take care of your health and safety. If you encounter any difficulties, don't suffer alone; tell me, understand?"
Olivia was moved to tears; her parents had finally given in.
...
David dropped Olivia off at home and turned to see Olivia in the passenger seat, her eyes wide with excitement.
He raised an eyebrow, "What's wrong?"
Olivia handed him her phone, "Brother, Nicholas added me on Facebook!!!"
"Why are you so excited? You're working together on a TV series; adding each other on Facebook is normal, isn't it?"
"..."
Olivia hugged her phone and accepted the friend request.
Her brother was quick to pour cold water on her excitement. She was just excited, not delusional.
Seeing Nicholas's profile picture, Olivia suddenly thought of John.
So she turned to look at her brother.
"By the way, brother."
"Yeah?"
"I scratched our boss's car last time. Can you help me pay for it?"
John had said it was okay, but how could Olivia like owing others?
David felt a headache coming on, "Don't drive anymore."
Olivia felt grievance; she was fine with everything except parking. But not driving was fine; they weren't short of drivers at home.
Nicholas rarely posted on Instagram. Within half an hour, Olivia had scrolled through all his posts.
Most of the content was related to dramas, and some were about his daily life.
As she scrolled through Nicholas's Instagram, Olivia wondered if Nicholas was also scrolling through hers.
Olivia's heart skipped a beat as she opened her Instagram to check for anything inappropriate.
As she scrolled, Olivia felt a mix of fear and excitement.
She had expressed her love for Nicholas on Instagram more than once. But then she thought, she had already openly called herself his fan in front of him, so it didn't matter if he saw it.
Apart from posts about eating, gaming, and loving Nicholas, her Instagram didn't have much else.
Olivia turned off her phone and hung her head over the bed, trying to clear her mind.
Since our meeting at the pottery shop, everything has felt like a dream.
Olivia curved her lips into a smile and curled up, kicking her legs vigorously.
Ohhhhh, she was so happy.
Although "Game of Thrones" was a suspense IP, the romantic subplots were also quite substantial, with plenty of kissing scenes!
Eeek.
Olivia covered her face, blushing like a lobster.
Would Nicholas' lips be soft?
The more Olivia thought about it, the more energized she felt. She sat up, picked up her phone, and opened the chat window with Nicholas.
She sent him an emoji.
Truthfully, she didn't know what to say, but she wanted to send him a message.
Yet, her brother was right; it was common for the lead actors of a show to add each other on Facebook. Maybe Nicholas had added every cast member in the crew.
Nicholas sneezed loudly, pulled off the bath towel, wrapped it around his waist, and walked out of the bathroom.
His phone showed an unread Facebook message from Olivia.
As Nicholas wiped his hair, he read it. The young girl had sent a cute greeting emoji.
"Do you play Dota?" he asked.
Since Nicholas had initiated the topic.
Olivia: "!"
"Yes!" she replied.
Nicholas: "Want to play together in ten minutes?"
"Sure!"
Nicholas smiled.
Olivia rolled around on the bed clutching her phone. Oh my goodness, she was going to play a game with Nicholas.
She wondered how good Nicholas was at gaming.
Olivia didn't go to sleep until 3 a.m. because she and Nicholas had been playing games together the entire night.
Nicholas was excellent at gaming, the best among Olivia's friends.
How could someone be so handsome, act so well, have such a great personality, and be so skilled at gaming? Nicholas was truly a gem in human form!
A month later, the "Game of Thrones" production held a kickoff ceremony .
After the ceremony, Olivia officially prepared for the shoot.
Before joining the crew, the company held a meeting, which was Olivia's first encounter with John after a month.
He had lost more weight and wore a well-fitted suit.
His hair was neatly combed, and his bone structure was exquisite, with eyes that were a bit intimidating to look at directly.
After the meeting, Olivia was asked to stay behind.
Alone with her boss, Olivia felt nervous.
