Chapter 77 EPILOGUE
"Mommy, Jay took Barbie!"
Putting the flour aside, I turn around and sighed when I saw Cobie, my 8 years old daughter, bawling her eyes out.
"That's not true!" Jay, my 8 years old son and Cobie's older twin brother, ran beside her. Waving a very familliar small plastic figure on his hand, "Mommy, she's lying!"
"No! I'm not!" She pouted, before angrily pointing at her doll, "SEE?! MOMMY, HELP ME!"
I love my twins, really, I do. I thank Him every morning for having them but sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I can hire a referee for them.
Sighing loudly, I bent down and waved them to come forward. Walking in front of me, they crossed their arms and pouted.
They took my stubbornness but took their father's adorableness.
"What's the problem here?" I asked them gently.
"He took my Barbie." Cobie glared at her twin.
"Why did you took her Barbie, Jay?" I asked him gently.
"It's because she took Bumblebee!" Jay glared back at his twin.
Resisting to sigh frustratedly, I asked her gently. "Why did you took his Bumblebee, Cobie?"
"It's because he said that I liked Elliot!" She stomped her feet angrily.
Elliot Langston is Chloe and Reed's 9 years old son.
Sighing through my nose, I faced Jay and asked gently, "Why did you said that she liked Elliot?"
"It's because she said that I liked Riley!"
Riley Langston is Chloe and Reed's 8 years old daughter.
Pursing my lips, I faced Cobie and asked gently, "Why did you said that he liked Riley?"
"BECAUSE IT'S THE TRUTH!" She screamed angrily.
Why the heck is she screaming?!
"Cobie." A manly voice called out coming from the stairs.
Finally!
"Daddy!" She cried.
Adam kept his 'serious' face and asked her calmly. "Why did you shout to mommy?"
Her eyes widened, "Jay took my Barbie and-"
"So that's why you shouted at your mother?"
Tears brimmed on her eyes. Yeah, she's a daddy's girl.
"No, but-"
"No buts." Adam frowned, walking towards where we are right now. "She's your mother and you have no rights to do that to her."
Cobie sobbed before looking at me, "I'm sorry mommy!"
Ah, that's more like it.
I smiled before opening my arms. "It's alright baby, just don't do that ever again." She hugged me tightly, "Okay?"
"Yes mommy." She nodded.
"So... What's wrong?" Adam asked.
"She took Bumblebee!" Jay cried, running towards Adam.
Let me rephrase what I said earlier, they're both daddy's boy and girl.
See, even if Adam grew some stubble on his face and looks more mature right now, he is still the lovable and adorable bear I know.
Adam opend both of his hand, "Give me the toys. Now."
The twins gave him the dolls and Adam gives it to the proper owner -his jean's pockets.
"Daaaad!" They both whinned.
"Go back to playing now." Adam smirked, pulling me up and shooing them away.
"But daad!"
"No buts! Now shoo shoo!"
They mumbled incoherent words while leaving the kitchen.
"How do you do that?" I chuckled, putting my hands on my waist.
"It's a talent." He grinned, putting an arm around me and kissing my cheeks. "Hmm, what are you cooking, Mrs. Emerson?"
"It's actually baking," I smiled, "And I'm making the birthday cake for Charlie's birthday party later."
"He's turning 16 today, huh?" He breathed in, "Time flies by."
"It does." I chuckled while touching his forehead, "Well, let's just thank that this wrinkles aren't obvious yet."
His eyes widened, "I have no wrinkles, Em."
"Oh right, just the white hair." I winked.
"Em..." He glared at me which made me laugh. "I have no white hairs."
"Yet." I added which made him nod.
"Mommy!" Cobie called out, "Aunt Fey's here"
"Hey!" I waved at them when she entered the kitchen.
"Hey.Hey!" Fey grinned, crosding her arms and slumped next to a wall beside her. "What'ya making?"
"Charlie's birthday cake. Did you bring your presents?"
"Yup. It's in the car." She grinned.
"Nice, nice." I nodded before asking. "Where's Weston, Easton and Northon?"
Weston, Easton and Northon Delgado are Fey and Felipe's triplets. They're all 9 years old.
"In the car, wrapping those presents."
"Where's Felipe?"
"In the car with the kids." She washed her hands, "You should never leave 3 boys with scissors."
Fey and Felipe got married earlier than us. After Adam's resignment years ago, they got married after 3 months and they got busy immediately. -Fey got pregnant after a month.
Drying her hands, she faced me. "Are you almost done?"
"Yup." I turn around and took the cake out of the oven. "Just give me 30 minutes and this cake will be warm and there would be writings on it by then."
"Great. Good." She grinned. "Can I be the one to do the writings?"
"Mmm-hmm." I nodded and faced Adam, "Can you please dress up the twins now?"
Adam scowled, "But I don't know what they'll wear and-"
"It's already ready on our bed!" I said as I put the cake on the table.
"Fiiiiiine." He sighed. He pecked my cheeks before running to the other room and shouted, "IT'S TIME TO DRESS UP OR SHUT UP!!!" Then squeals followed it.
Oh Adam.
"You know, I think he grew immature instead of being mature." Fey chuckled.
"Oh, I know." I laughed.
------------------------------>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"-HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!" We all clapped our hands. I grinned widely when Charlie smiled awkwardly and blew his candle.
I couldn't blame him. It's clearly written on his eyes that he doesn't want to have this party. Oh well.
After a while, everyone started eating. The party mostly consist of Charlie's other friends, his parents, close relatives, Archel and Ivan.
"Arch, Chlo!" I called out when I found them seating on the sofa.
"Emily! Hey!" They greeted.
"The cake tastes amazing by the way. Thank you." Chloe grinned as she scooted for me to take a seat beside her.
"No problem." I grinned.
The people who designed my wedding was mom, Andy, Chloe, Fey and Archel. Archel or Archie is Chloe's best friend and through the years became mines too.
Andy's currently in Dubai with his boy friend, thus the reason why he's not here.
Fey walked towards us with a plate full of cake. "Where are the kids?"
Archie jabbed her thumb towards the other room. Following it, I saw her daughter, Vanchel, playing with my twins, her triplets, Riley and Elliot.
"Your daughter is amazing. She plays with them as if she's not older than them." I laughed as I complimented Archie.
It's not an everyday sight to see a beautfiul 16 years old girl playing around with toddlers, I mean, kids.
"Hmm.." She smiled, "I guess she's doing her job well. I mean, her part time job or something. She's a babysitter."
"She's earning her own money?" Chloe asked, taking a cake icing with her finger and licked it.
"Yup." Archie nodded, "She bought something for a certain someone's birthday." She winked.
"Hmm? I wonder who she gave it to." Chloe muttered with pure confusion written on her face.
Trust me, this girl is really oblivious. I wonder how her husband confessed his love to her.
"Mom, hey."
Turning around I saw Charlie smiling awkwardly, rubbing his hand behind his neck.
"Ah Charlie!" Chloe grinned at her son, "Happy birthday baby boy!"
Chloe...
"Mom..." Charlie's eyes widened awkwardly before clearing his throat. "Hannah's not here, can I go to her house?"
Chloe frowns, "It's a 20 minutes drive, Charlie."
"Fine, I'll walk." He muttered.
"That would take you an hour or something. Plus, it's your birthday!"
"It doesn't feel like one without her." He pouted.
"Why is she not here anyways?"
"She was painting her nails and it wouldn't dry until an hour."
Wha-? Who is this "Hannah" fooling with? Obviously Charlie.
"No." A voice came from behind him. Reed Langston shook his head, "You're not leaving."
"But dad-"
"Your best friend is here Charlie." He's talking about Vanchel.
"Yes, and I'm thankful about it. But-"
"No." Reed shook his head.
"Fine." Charlie groaned before running towards the other room where the kids are.
"My son is as blind as a bat." Reed frowned before sighing. "Hey hun, can you help me with something?"
"With what?" Chloe raised an eye brow.
"Elliot peed his pants." He frowned.
"What?" Her eyes widened before standing up and run towards the other room with her husband on her tow.
"Uhm excuse me..."
I looked up and saw Vanchel standing in front of us.
"Yes Vanch?" Archie asked her daughter.
"Can you guys please convince aunt Chloe to let Charlie go? He's really sad."
Oh Vanchel...
I would love to help her out, but...
"No." We all shook our heads.
I would never help some random girl who lies that her mani-pedi isn't dry yet so she couldn't go to anywhere.
"But... Charlie's sad and it's his birthday." She muttered silenly. "Don't we want him to see him smiling and be happy?"
Is that what we want or what you want? Ah, young love.
"Good bye Vanchel." Archie waved her off.
ARCHEL!
Fey's eyes widened while I gawk at her.
"Alright." Vanchel frowned as she walk back to the room.
"That was rude!" I gasped out loud.
"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't -but she's too head over heels for Charlie." She pursed her lips, "It's not a mother's dream to see your only child suffer by helping the one you love to earn another person's love." She eventually sighed, "I just want the best for her."
"I guess that's true..." I muttered.
------------->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"Mommy, daddy!"
Groaning silently, I raised my head from Adam's chest and watch as Jay and Cobie went inside of our bed room.
"Yes?"
"I have an assignment!" Jay grinned while waving a piece of paper.
"What's it about?" Adam muttered before sitting up.
"It's about my parents' grandparents!" He grinned.
....................... damn.
I smiled slighty remembering the memories of me and Franco.
Franco Sanders died 7 years ago on June 26. At least he saw my children before he passed away.
He was a good man. Turns out that he didn't leave my mother; she left him. When I asked about it years ago, she said it was to protect me. She said that the corporation was a curse made by her father.
She left everything about her father's past for me to have a normal life. But hey, is there such thing as a normal life?
The worst part is that he didn't die just because he's simply old, no, he was killed. He was assassinated.
We never knew who was the traitor inside Franco's hospital room after all these years. We never knew what caused him to have a seizure that day.
Our lives may be silent right now, but deep downI know that this is not the end for me, for us.
When mom married dad, he handled the corporation. And now that I married Adam, the 'curse' is passed into us.
But I believe that the corporation isn't a curse, the D.A.C is made to protect the people that needed to be protected and to elliminate the people who should be gone for good.
No, I'm not saying that Franco had the rights to kill those criminals, but he was willing to do the wrong thing to save the others.
He was a good man.
"Mommy?" Cobie asked, grabbing my hand. I was so cought up on my own thoughts that I haven't noticed my twins that they've climbed on the bed.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Did you love your grandpa?"
"... I did." I smiled before shaking my head, putting the sad thoughts aside. "So, what was the assignment all about?"
"Nothing." Jay shook his head, "We can just skip that part."
"But we do need this one." Cobie gave me her paper.
"How did your parents meet?" I read out loud.
Smiling, I faced Adam and saw him smirk at me. "Well, do the honors."
Rolling my eyes, I chuckled and did an indian sit on the bed. "Come on, seat comfortably. It's going to be a really long story."
They sat properly while Adam remained on his back, rubbing my back.
"Ready?"
They nodded.
"Alright, it all started when I was waiting for your uncle Andy..."
And then the story goes...
The End ♥
