Chapter 89
Winnie froze for a moment, then softly replied, 'Yes." Her eyes became slightly misty, and tears almost fell, sliding down her cheek and eventually landing on the back of Van's hand.
'Why are you crying so much?" Van gently wiped the tear from under her eye, his tone tinged with a hint of affection.
'I'm best at crying scenes," Winnie answered calmly, a faint smile curling at her lips. 'Who told you not to watch my movies?"
She pursed her lips and smiled slightly.
Van raised his hand slightly, his fingertips brushing her temple, gently gliding across her cheek. 'I have to catch my flight. I need to go. Rest well on the way."
Van got off the plane alone, and Winnie watched him leave, only seeing his tie fluttering in the cold wind, like the storm that had come with him.
The flight attendant couldn't resist teasing, 'Why didn't you kiss him goodbye? Are you embarrassed with me around?"
Winnie softly hummed in response, suddenly realizing she had forgotten something. 'Oh, I forgot…"
She then opened her phone and sent Van a message: 'Mr. Marlowe, you didn't kiss me goodbye."
After waiting for a while without receiving a reply, the flight attendant reminded her, 'The airline's network has no signal. You'll have to wait until Van lands to see the message."
Winnie couldn't help but feel a bit foolish and long-pressed to recall the message.
When Van arrived at his destination, he found that a message had been retracted.
The staff from Marlowe Group came to pick him up. He sat alone in the car, resting his eyes with a slight frown, seeming a bit irritated, his fingers lightly tapping on his knee.
The car sped toward the highway, and he finally took out his phone, opened Snapchat, and asked: What did you retract?
Winnie had just taken a nap and groggily replied: Nothing...
She took a deep breath, rolled over on the couch, and pretended to be weak: You'll laugh at me.
Van's tone was calm: I won't.
Winnie tried to act casual: I just wanted to say, you didn't kiss me goodbye.
Van's eyes darkened, and he softly responded: Wait for me.
However, his business schedule was already arranged, and it would be at least ten days or even half a month before she could see him again.

The plane landed, and Yulia and Wendy were already waiting for her at the airport. The airport was quiet, with no reporters or fans, giving it a somewhat desolate feel.
Yulia picked up her phone and continued to track the public opinion: As expected of Mr. Marlowe, this move is even more brilliant than sending a haute couture dress.
Although Yulia felt Van kept saying he didn't care about the fashion world, every time he took action, it was a powerful strike that left people in disarray.
'Winnie! Tell me, what real progress did you make in Europe?" Yulia began to gossip.
Winnie leaned against her neck pillow, pretending to be weak. 'What progress..."
'Did you kiss?"
Winnie coughed, looking a bit flustered. 'Well, there was..."
This wasn't what Yulia needed to know!
Yulia turned her head and asked, 'How's Mr. Marlowe's kissing skills?"
Wendy nearly exploded. 'Focus on driving!!!"
Winnie's face was already red, but she tried to act calm. 'Fine...I guess."
'Dinner's on you tonight!!" Yulia excitedly shouted.
But Winnie had no time to accept any invitations, as Anne's calls were coming in almost every hour, and her emotions were becoming increasingly fragile. Winnie could only rush to help her.
She went straight to Anne's studio, and as soon as she reached the car, she saw Elva's Ferrari parked in front of the door, the roof covered in small yellow fruits. It was clear the car had been parked there for a full twenty hours.
As soon as she entered, Elva warmly greeted her, taking her hand and saying, "Baby, it's been so long!"
She playfully kissed Winnie twice on the cheek. "I saw Becca's Instagram, I was so excited! So, how was the yacht? I heard there's a helicopter on it—did you ride it?"
Winnie smiled like a little kitten. "Yeah, but it wasn't anything special, since I had to rush back."
Elva's smile faltered for a moment before she said, "How could you? You didn't come to find me?"
Winnie didn't answer, just smiled faintly, and their eyes met.
Elva's smile froze. "Time's tight, let's not stand here."
"What time's tight?" Winnie raised an eyebrow. "I've already picked my haute couture."
Elva was stunned. "You've chosen already?"
Winnie smiled lightly. "Of course, it's Viktor's. Isn't it?"
This sentence left Elva frozen in place, and even she, along with everyone else in the room, was stunned.
'Viktor's couture line just reopened. With your influence and resources, it's really a bit of a downgrade to just help them with sales. However, Hayworth is also a good option. I heard you met with Reno; he personally called to ask if you'd wear one of their top pieces again."
'I like Viktor. It's simple and elegant, without all the complicated designs," Winnie smiled and said. 'You know me, I prefer clothes that are simple and elegant, nothing too flashy."
Winnie changed into Viktor's uniquely designed white, delicate dress. It was fresh and refined, perfect for her. As soon as she put it on, everyone around her had the same thought: if she doesn't wear this on the red carpet, it would be such a waste.
