CHAPTER SIX

Ysabella POV I swear, through out my entire life, it is the first time that i felt attracted to a guy. He's so handsome and sexy. The way confidence was pouring out of him and the way he delivered himself was so manly. Too bad! His personality just sucks! He's just like others. People like to judge you without knowing anything about you or what the truth is. He is is one of those people.He did not try to know my side of story or if I was happy or forced into this marriage. He had already made an opinion that i am a gold digger, even before we met.After he blasted off on me and left the restaurant. I walked out too and drove to my favorite place. My mom's grave. I know it's dark but when I feel down. I always come here. It is the only place where there is no judgemental eyes following me and I can spend some time in peace. I hugged my mom's grave and couldn't control my tears.My mom was my rock. After her death, everything went downhill. Dad changed completely and married another women for money. And he is marrying me with someone just for money. "Mom! Why did you leave me? Ever since you are gone, no one care about my feelings, there's no-one to listen to me.My job is the only light in this dark tunnel. It is the one thing That keep me moving in this life. Everything seems so wrong. When will my happiness come?" After crying my eyes out, i was just sitting there in peace. Then my phone rang and I quickly answered it. One thing that i learned being a doctor is that you could be called anytime to the hospital for an emergency, so always pick up your phone. "Yes?" I answered "Doctor belle, you are needed in the hospital.There is an Emergency." A nurse responded. "Ok I will be there in 10 minutes". I drove fast and reached there in exactly ten minutes.Doctors and nurses are busy. Looks like we have some major emergency. "Good evening doctor belle. " A nurse greeted me and I nod in response. "Hey you are here! Lets go,I think this is some VIP patient. Just look at how many doctors and nurses are here. Rich people know how to make things work in their favour " Came a sarcastic comment from my left.I know who it is without turning in the voice's direction Meet my best friend Emma Lawson. She has a hardcore hatred for rich people. She hated me first too when she found out about me and my family's status. But slowly she came to know my situation and we became best of friends. I rolled my eyes at her comment and went inside the operation theatre with her. The scene inside is weird.The nurses and doctor are just standing there doing nothing but ogling the patient. "What is happening here?" I asked in an authoritative voice. "Sorry doc!" They answered in unison but the whispering and murmuring never stopped.I can still hear them going La La on my patient. "My gosh is it Xavier Knight?". " He so handsome. Even with those cuts and bruises, he is still looking like a greek god" Emma cringed and I shooed them all out. Xavier has lost a lot of blood but we were able to save him. The broken glass got stuck in his chest but luckily it missed his heart. We were able to pull that out easily but the only problem is his head. He has hit his head very hard, that why it has deep cuts and bruises. There is no internal bleeding thankfully but a bit of swelling. Hopefully he will not undergo amenesia. Xavier's family doctor came and we explained the whole situation to him. After the surgery, I did not bother to go home. I went to doctor's quarters and slept there. Emma is in charge of the night. I came here after bidding good night to her. Morning cane and I prepared myself for a long day ahead of me.I took a shower and changed into my spare clothes that i always keep in my locker.I went to the nurse station only to find Emma with a big frown on her face.It looks like she's in a bad mood or may just tired from the night shift. "Good morning." I greeted her with a smile. "Morning!" She replied frowning again. "Hey what happened?" I asked her. "An irresponsible doctor called the director lat minute to tell that she can't come today."She replied looking tired and angry,"Now I have to work on extended hours after my last night's shift.You know I am not against her but if she can't do her job properly then she should quit." "So it means you will be working with me, yay!!" I said trying to cheer her up. "Yup because I have to work two shift.Thank god! I performed only one surgery last night or else my energy would have been completely drained by now." "Come on, you are working with you amazing best friend, be happy". I tried to make a joke. Emma is a happy-go-lucky person but this tiredness is mixed with some worry, i can sense it. What she said next confirmed my thoughts."Hahahahha funny. I am just worried about my sister. She really needs a kidney transplant and I am just trying to save enough money" "Emma I have savings you can borrow it." Was my instant reply. "No way! It's your money! And you will be in trouble if you lend your money to me. What if your sister ask for money from you huh! " I tried to persuade her"But you need it! She is just gonna use it on useless stuff.I can tell them that I don't have money left in my account. Come on just take it ok?" But she is so stubborn regarding these money matters. "Ok ok I will take it if I can't find another way. But as of now, let's get to work" she dismissed the topic and we went for our rounds. Our first patient is Xavier Knight. I have already read his report paper that he has gained his consciousness. Thats a good thing because his head injuries were swear. We knocked on his door room and went inside for regular checkup. "Good morning" we greeted in unison but there was an interesting scenario in front of us.A woman and Xavier are kissing like there is no tomorrow. They seem to not care about their surroundings. I faked a cough just to get there attention. They let go of each other and look at us. "We're here to check the patient" I said. The woman did not move from her position and just sat there staring at us . "Excuse me miss! You can sit down in the couch for now. Let us check the patient first" Emma gave her an irritated look. The woman dramatically stomped her feet like a small kid and walk to the nearby couch. "How are you Mr Knight?" I asked first. "I am good! Just my body is little soar and my head is hurting" he answered but kept staring at me like he is figuring something out. Emma and I did our regular checkup. I noticed the whole time he was secretly winking to Emma and trying to flirt with her which made her ever more irritated than before. Diverting his attention towards me is spoke about his condition "Mr Knight! You were brought here on a right time last time, thats why we were able to save you. Your state last night was far from worse. Little delay would have taken your life.We have keep you under observation for a couple of days and then you are good to go" "You will still undergo some tests regularly to keep an eye on your vitals and your entire system. As for now take plenty of rest" I continued." Any questions?" "Your look familiar to me." He pointed to me. "what's your name", And then he looked towards Emma and asked ,"and your's too miss beautiful"sending Playboy smile to her not caring about his girlfriend inside the room. "We are your doctors. I am doctor Yasbelle and she's doctor Emma. "I answered him since Emma is not interested in talking to him at all. "I knew you are that girl!"He exclaimed. Before i could ask him what does he mean by that, door to his room opened and in came the last person I want to see as of now. "Archer! My friend!" Said Xavier excitedly. Oh boy!!
