CHAPTER TEN

Ysabella POV Tonight is one of the worst nights I ever had as I have had my fare share of worse nights since my mom has passed. But tonight was just next level. First I was threatened and accused by my said fiancé. Also he thought that me and his grandpa has a thing going on between us. Disgusting!! Secondly my dad slapped me infront of everyone including Archer. Third and the most horrible thing, grandpa announced that the wedding will take place as early as next week. How did my life turn into all this? I don't have control on it anymore. I am just being dragged into situations and just going with the flow where it leads me. Only good thing that happened tonight is that grandma and that jerk, Archer told me to stay in their house for tonight. I really don't know what would have happened with me if I went back with my family to our house. Now I am standing in the guest-room in front of a mirror. My eyes are swollen from all the crying and I have a hand print on my cheek.I really wish I could end my life. "Dear are you ok? Do you want something?" Grandma knocked on guest-room's door and came in. "I'm fine Grandma."I replied turning towards her. " Dear I know you are not fine but do not dwell on negative thoughts anymore."She said and came near me. We both sat on the bed and she continued,"I promise you, we will get you out of all this. Your father can never hurt you anymore. Your grandpa told me that Archer threatened your father that if he ever hurt you again, he will have to pay for it." She said while smiling at me. I don't know what to feel. Should I be happy that Archer stood up for me?? But he was also the one who threatened me before this whole incident. Seeing me sitting quite, grandma tried to assure me ,"You know Archer is a good guy at heart. It's just that he had never believed in love.I don't know what made him like that. But I know, one day he will realize how lucky he is to have you as a wife". "Grandma...!" "I love that you have started to call me grandma on my request."She had a big smile on her face. "Grandma I do not wish to marry your grand son. I don't love him nor does he love me. It will be a completely loveless marriage. It will not work!" I said in a pleading voice. She held my hand."Trust me he will come to love you and so will you. We are not trying to force you guys for nothing. We know there is something, some spark between you too, as I can tell when I see you too. Just give it a try my child!" She said smiling. "But grandma... !"I started in hope to make her understand that her grandson hates me, that might be the spark she is talking about. But she interrupted me. "Shhhhh... No more buts! I will always be behind you for the support. I really really like you. Your the best daughter-in-law anybody could ask for and a best daughter too. Your father is a jerk not to realize it" "Thank you so much grandma. I really don't know what I have done to deserve so much love from you and grandpa. But I wanna say thank you from the bottom of my heart" "Awe..! You are such a sweet child!! And I forgot to tell you, Archer is staying here too." "What?! Why??"I stumbled upon my words. "Your Grandpa asked him to stay the night. His room is across from yours. Don't worry, he will not bother you."I nodded with a little hesitation. I don't want to have anymore interactions with him, atleast not tonight. "And here dear, your pyjamas. I hope they fit you. I also have more clothes for you in the closet. Please don't hesitate to use them. I bought them cause I wanted to give them to you after your wedding!" She informed. "Thank you grandma! And good night!" And I kissed her cheek. She smiled in return and went outside. I changed into the pyjamas that grandma gave to me and went to bed. I had no energy to stay awake anymore and slowly drifted to sleep. _ TIME SKIP_ I was woken by the loud knocking on the door. I got up and went to open it. I was still in my sleeping state and do not know what time it is.My eyes shoot up when I saw who was at my door. Archer! "Breakfast is ready. Come downstairs " then he left. No greeting, no other words, nothing. He is such a jerk. But I don't time to curse him some more as I am already late. "Shit shit! " I mumble while pulling my hair. I ran to the washroom and I saw my face. My hair is a mess and eyes is swollen. I brushed my teeth with the spare toothbrush kept on the shelf, washed my face and went down stairs. "Come dear.. sit down!" Grandma said when she saw me. She was seated beside her husband. "Thank you grandma! And morning grandpa and grandma!" I heard a cough from behind my back. I went near the dinning table and took a seat beside grandma. Archer came and sat opposite to grandma. While we were all eating, Grandma kept talking about different things.Grandpa was responding to her well but me and Archer were just nodding or one word answers. "How about you dear? What are your plans for today?"She asked me casually. "I am just gonna go to work after breakfast" I said slowly while looking at her. "Skip your work today." Archer butted in,"Didn't you hear what grandpa said last night. We are getting married next week. So I think you should buy your wedding dress today and do other preparations" I turned to look at him only to see him already staring at me. I quickly adverted my eyes. Before I could say anything in reply, Grandma replied enthusiastically. "Oh yes that's right! We should go to a boutique dear. You can select your wedding dress and then we can go on a little shopping spree. I'm so excited!" She said with dreamy eyes. "Hahahaha... Beware dear your grandma is a shopping addict. She will drag you to every store she will see!" Grandpa said smiling. I smiled in reply but I am kind of scared seeing the look on grandma's face that shows how much she loves shopping. "Shut up Luciano! That's not true. Don't believe him dear. He's a jealous old man because he can't have good time with her daughter in-law.!" She said glaring towards grandpa and he pouted in response. They have such a cute bond even in this age. I don't think someone will ever look towards me with so much affection and love in their eyes like these two have for each other. I just shook those thought away and said"Then I will just go upstairs and prepare grandma. I need to make a call to the hospital to inform them about my absence. I will be ready in 20 min."She nodded in response. After I made a call to the hospital. I called Emma as well to inform her that I am not coming today. "Hey you why are you absent huh?"she said without any greetings, typical of her. "Good morning to you too Emma.!" I replied laughing as I have a hunch about what her reply would be. "What's good in this morning when I had to see that jerk. I had to do his regular check up because you are absent today." She took a pause and then continued," And speaking of him. He was shoving his tongue down a nurse's throat when I opened his room's door. He is such a man-whore!!" "You are jealous. Aren't you?" I asked laughing at her expense. "Me jealous? What are you talking about. I wanted to strangle both of their necks if only I could!" She said. My laughter was out of control now. I can picture her with a red face.I will take to her about all this and also what's going on with me when I meet her.For now I have to get ready. "Emma I need to get going now. I will explain everything to you tomorrow. Bye!"I hung up before listening to her reply. Then I began rampaging the closet and saw some simple but elegant clothes. I grabbed one of them and went to take a bath. I got ready and went downstairs. Grandma was already sitting in the living room looking pretty as always. "Let's go grandma!" I said when I reached near her.She smiled and stood up. "I will take you both to the boutique and mall.Let's go!" Archer said coming down from the stairs. What is going on in his mind now, why all of a sudden he want to come with us ?? I am already anxious due to grandma's excitement, now my anxiety will be higher then ever. "Archer son!! Thank you. But I know you must be busy. So we will take my car and Efren will drive us" Grandma replied making me inwardly sigh in relief. He nodded and then looked at to me. "Here take this! Use this for your dress and other necessities!" He tried to hand me a card but I did not grab it. I don't want even a penny from him. Today he himself want me to use his card and then he will taunt me some other day. "It's ok! You don't have to!" I said to him while shaking my head as a sign of no. "Just take it! " Then he grabbed my hand and forcefully kept the card on it. Without saying anything or waiting for me to say  something, he left. "Oh this boy and his ego!" Grandma said rolling her eyes at Archer's back. I sighed and tried to hand over the card to grandma. "No no! He gave it to you, so use it as you like dear!" "But grandma I can't.It is his money!"
