Thea 'Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to Thea! Happy birthday to you! "Happy birthday, our little angel!" My mom and dad said it in unison. "You're getting bigger now, honey; that means we're going to call you our big angel." My mom got me a cake on the table and brought it in front of me. "Make a wish and blow the candles." My mom said "Okay," I said. I close my eyes and put my hands on my chest, then make a wish. After I'm done, I open my eyes and blow out the candles. We clapped our hands, and then my dad hugged me, and then my mom did it too. "Happy 10th birthday to you. Remember that we always love you. I hope you stay healthy and beautiful, Thea." My mom said to me "Thea, I hope you have a good life when you're big enough, and remember, don't get a boyfriend until you're 30 because I don't want to lose you too early." My dad said "Stop that, Simon. Oh! We have a present for you. I almost forgot that." My mom ran inside the kitchen and walked back to the living room with a box that was wrapped in red ribbon. "Look what we've got for you!" "Wow! What's this?" I ask excitedly when I got the present. I askedn it and sequel in happiness when my parents got me the set of the storybook that I really want. I openedys twith I like this book and now I got it. "Oh my god! Mom dad thank you so muchwanted. eand Dad,y book, you both!"haveran and hugged both of them. "That's a relief that you like it. Okay, now let's say good bye to the camera and eat the cake." "Byee!" Three of us said it together. **** That's it. The end of the video of my 10th birthday celebration says that my parents did it for me. The tears come down my cheeks when I watch the video. I keep replying to the same video for the fifth time because I always dream that my parents will come to me and surprise me with cakes and presents. Today is my birthday. I can't believe its been a week since I stay here. Because today isit's birthday, I will gI've beenvisit my parents. I miss them so so much. Do you ever feel the feeling that you want to hug someone but you can't, you want to kiss someone but you can't, and you want to spend the most quality time with someone but you can't? I'm wearing the black dress that stops at my knees. I put my hair into a neat bun and wear a bit of makeup, but not too much, just light makeup. Then, I wear my black pumps. I take a look at myself in the mirror, and when I'm satisfied with my look, I smile, then take a breath before leaving the house. I call a cab to pick me up because it's quite far if I walk. The cab came a moment later, and when I was in the car, I told the driver to bring me to the flower shop. After a few minutes, the driver stops at the flower shop. Ummm, can you please wait here for a bit? I promise it won't be long." I said, and the driver nodded his head. I get out of the car and quickly walk into the flower shop to get white roses. I pay for it and walk back to the car. The driver dropped me off at the place where my parents are. I pay him and get out of it. Before I walk into that cemetery, I take a very deep breath because I don't want to cry in there. When I walk in, I can see a few people who also visit theirs. I searched for my parents because I actually kind of forgot where they were. After a moment of walking around it, I finally see my parents grave. "Hey mom, dad. It's me, your daughter." You said that and kneeled to be more close with them. "I know it's been a few years since I last visited you two, but I never forget about both of you. Every day I will remember our memories, and sometimes I get a dream about the car accident." I put the flowers near my mom and dad's names. "I know you two must know today is my birthday. So I'm here to celebrate it with you." Just then, my tears fell to the ground. I don't even realise I was crying until now. Mom, dad, I've been living a happy life now. I got a job at the big company, and it makes a good income every month. Also, I have two best friends, one at work and another one in Los Angeles." I said to stop for awhile. "Dad, I still remember that you said that I would have no boyfriend until I turned 30. I watched that video and am still thinking that you are here with me. Let me tell you something, mom, dad, well, like a few months ago, I got myself a boyfriend. He's my boss, and his name is Joseph. Joseph Sanchez. He is a good guy who really takes care of me, especially when I have a nightmare." "But do you both think that if someone kisses him, is that called cheating? We broke up a few weeks ago. Oh, wait, no, I said I needed space, but I think it was like a breakup. Did I really make a good decision to leave him and stay here?" I wipe my tears. I really love him, but I realise that too late. I think he's already happy with someone else. I miss him, mom and dad. What should I do? I do everything to make me forget about him, but I can't; besides, I just end up getting hurt myself." I said, and my tears didn't stop coming out. I don't know what makes me sad now, but I just feel like I want to let it all out. "Mom, dad I miss you, guys. I want to hug you and do everything that family can do together. I still can't believe I'm the one who survived that accident. Why God didn't take me with you guys too I don't like being alone. Besides, this world is too cruel, and I don't like it. Mom, dad, why can't you take me with you? I don't have anyone else anymore in this world. I want to be with you guys." I sob and wipe my tears with my palm. "If you're going with them, I'll be alone then." I heard a voice say that. I immediately turn around and see him standing in his black suit, looking at me. "H-how?" That's all I ask. "It's Alexa, but don't blame her because I'm the one who forced her to stand tall. Where were you? I can't believe you've only been four hours away from me for the past few weeks. I'm searching for you like crazy." He said that, and I just stayed quiet because I didn't know how to respond. "I know you didn't want to meet me here, but I can't do anything. I can't even focus on my work. I need you again in my life. You know, I've never felt so lost like this. So please come back to me, and we can open the new chapter of our lives." I was still kneeling on the ground and didn't move a bit. "Thea, don't just be quiet. If you don't want me in your life anymore, tell me so that I can at least try to accept it." I stand up and look at him. The face that I've been dying to see all this time "I-I'm scared." "Of what?" "This might sound childish, but I'm scared someone will steal you from me, like... Your ex." I look at the ground. "Thea, no matter how hard she tried to steal me from you, I will always love you only. I love you." I looked at him when he said that. "Are you really meaning what you said?" I asked, and he nodded his head, making me smile and cry in happiness. "I love you too. Why is it so late for you to say that?" I hugged him, and he hugged me back. "I'm sorry to realise that just as you disappear." I release myself from the hug and look at my parents grave. "Mom, dad, this is Joseph, the guy that I told you earlier." I said. Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Morris. I'm Thea's boyfriend, and I promise you two that I'll be the best to take care of your daughter because I love her. So much." He kissed the side of my head. "I'm going now. I'll visit you very soon, then. I love both of you." I said I would walk with him to his car. Actually, I want to stay there longer, but I don't want Joseph to feel uncomfortable or anything. That's why I decided to go. I told him my address, and now we're at my house. "This house looks so cosy." He said that when he looked around my house. "Well thanks." Oh, wait here, I'm going to my car for a bit." He told me to walk out of the house. I shrug and walk to the kitchen to drink some water. I don't know that I've been sitting at the cemetery for three hours because now it is nearly 3 o'clock. I went there at noon, I think. I drink my water until I finish and wash the glass. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to my dear, happy birthday to you." I looked at Joseph's surprise when he came in with cake in his hands. "Make a wish before you blow out the candles." I smile and close my eyes to make a wish. Then I blow it out. "Happy birthday, my love." He said to me: "How I mean you-" "I know everything about you, even though I don't remember your hometown, but I still know lots about you." He put the cake on the counter and kissed me slowly. I kiss him back. I really miss his lips on mine. We kiss passionately, and the kiss becomes faster. He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I just put my hands on his shoulder. The kiss lasts for a minute, then we break apart. "I miss you so much. Don't do this again next time." He said this while caressing my cheeks. Well, it depends on the situation, then." I replied. "Let's celebrate your birthday today. I bought this cake special for you. Now let's put the cake here and have some time together." "But I want to eat the cake. I-" He cut me by giving me a peck on the lips. "We can eat that later." Na-uh, I want it now." I walk to get a plate and cut the cake, then put it on my plate. Fine, you win. We still have the whole night together." I looked at him and felt weird when he said that. I just ignore him and sit at the dining table to eat the cake. **** That night. It's already 10:15 p.m., and I'm already in my nightdress while Joseph is still in the bathroom taking a shower, or I don't know. I left the room and went downstairs to watch the TV. After a few minutes of watching the random stuff, Joseph came in with only his boxer. Oh gosh, why does he only wear that thing, though? He sits next to me, and we watch TV together. I don't know why, but I feel this is so awkward, like really awkward. "Dear, I'm bored." He said it, and I still feel awkward as hell. "Then what're you going to do?" I ask. "Let's do something that we both can enjoy." I looked at him and raised my eyebrows. "Like what?" "Like this." He carried me from the couch. Joseph, what are you doing?! Put me down or I swear you're going to regret it!" He laughed and brought me upstairs. What the hell is he going to do to me? When I'm in the middle of nowhere in my mind, he lays me down on the bed and immediately kisses me. I kiss him back, and the kiss becomes faster and full of lust. Our lips are never leaving each other as he continues to leave kisses down my neck and near my collarbone as his hand travels down to lift my night dress up, leaving me to lean my head back, eyes closed, while I wrap both of my arms around his neck. Our eyes are staring at each other as we breathe heavily, feeling each other's skin against one another. "I love you." I whisper in his ear as he kisses down my neck, biting softly. He leans back to look into my eyes again and says, "I love you more, dear." Just like that, he starts to leave kisses down to my collarbone and my stomach, leaving me to lean my head back on the bed. My heart feels like it's going to thump out of my chest with the way his lips and tongue are doing their magic, as well as the movement of his fingers, leaving me to grab onto the sheets, gripping hard.
