Chapter 1 Consent to Divorce
"Miss Jenny, the examination results show that the blood clot in your skull oppresses the retinal nerve, so your eyesight will get worse and worse. If you want to restore your eyesight, you must have surgery as soon as possible." The doctor looked at the report card in his hand and looked solemn.
"Operation?"
Jenny repeated it in wait for a while.
"Yes, Miss Jenny, there is another situation I need to inform you in advance, because the congestion area is large, the operation is difficult, and the risk probability of cranial nerve damage is extremely high. If the cranial nerve is damaged, sequelae will occur. There are many specific clinical situations, and the most serious one is amnesia." Seeing Jenny's eyes vacant, the doctor pointed to the X-ray in his hand and explained further.
"Amnesia?" Jenny blinked. "What if there is no operation?"
"If you don't have surgery, your eyesight will continue to decline until you become blind." The doctor can't bear it, but it is necessary for him to make it clear to the patient what he should say.
"Blindness!"
Hearing these two words, Jennie's emaciated face suddenly faded, leaving only a pale face. She shook and couldn't imagine what would happen if she lost her sight.
However, if the eyes are cured after surgery, it is very likely that she will lose her memory, which is even more unacceptable to her.
She sipped her lips and asked in a low voice, "How long can my eyes last without surgery?"
"If it is fast, a few months, if it is slow, a year or two."
"That is to say, if you are lucky, there will be a year or two, if you are unlucky, no matter how fast, there will be a few months, right?" Jenny asked anxiously, staring hopefully into the doctor's face.
The doctor nodded. "You can say that."
"Good, that's good." Jenny's eyes shone and her mouth rose slightly.
Out of the hospital, Jenny took out her mobile phone and dialed the phone number she had not seen for a long time but remembered.
"What is it?"
The long-lost voice from the other end of the mobile phone made Jenny's heart throb.
She took a deep breath and calmed down. "Willie, come home today. I have something to tell you."
"Say it on the phone, I am very busy!"
Willie's tone was very impatient, Jenny didn't care, still slowly said, "Didn't you always want to divorce me? I think clearly and agree to divorce, but some specific details need to be discussed. Before 12 o'clock this evening, it will be out of date!"
Jenny finished speaking and hung up the phone without waiting for Willie to respond.
She was not afraid that Willie would not come. For nearly two years in a row, he went home once a month and gave Jenny a divorce agreement. As long as Jenny didn't sign it, he couldn't beat it every month. Now, Jenny's divorce agreement can be bound together.
In the evening, Jenny cooked a table of Willie's favorite dishes and waited for him to come back.
Once upon a time, Willie liked her cooking best. Whether it was good or not, as long as Jenny cooked it, he always ate it all. But since two years ago, all this has changed.
Jenny looked out of the window. After a while, a car came in the yard. She got up and picked up the bowl on the table. As soon as the meal was served, Willie opened the door and came in.
"Come back, wash your hands and eat quickly."
Jenny looked at Willie like countless caring wives and said calmly.
Willie looked at the food on the table and frowned. "No, I have something to do. I'll sign and leave."
"What's the hurry? After waiting for two years, why care about the time of this meal?" Jenny smiled faintly and picked up the chopsticks on the table to pick up the dishes.
Willie's sharp eyes shot at Jenny's face. After a long time, he unbuttoned his suit and sat down at the table.
Jenny ate slowly, and Willie seemed impatient. He just grabbed a few mouthfuls and put down his chopsticks.
Seeing Willie finish eating, Jenny got up gracefully, poured two glasses of water and handed Willie one.
Willie drank it quickly and couldn't wait to take out the divorce agreement from the envelope and hand it to Jenny. "Look, there's no problem, just sign it."
Jenny stretched out her hand and read it night after night. The content was the same as before. After reading it too many times, she could recite a general idea.
Estimating the time, she put the paper in her hand aside, got up and hugged Willie, and put her mouth on his lip. "Willie, want me!"
