Chapter 108 Smashing Eggs
Withafter Emma said this analysis, Kimberly unconsciously relaxed her mind. "You're right. I have nothing to rush."
After Emma left, Kimberly sat silently in the house for a while. The more she thought about what had happened, the more uncomfortable she felt.
Kimberly exited the restroomrestroom. A case had just ended, and the courthouse was full of people, all heading toward the front door.
Kimberly recognized Laura's back immediately. She rushed up and violently yanked the other woman's wrist, "Laura!"
Laura turned back, frowning and looking at her askance with an obvious look of impatience.
Kimberly was furious at the look. She gritted her teeth in a voice only two people could hear, "You only won this time because of Anthony's charity. If there is a next time you will not be so good. ...... You'll be on your own from now on!"
Laura looked at her puzzledly and pulled back her hand unhappily, still patting it lightly as if she was afraid of getting something dirty on it.
The tail of her eyes swept over Kimberly and said, "What are you talking about?" Hadn't she won this lawsuit because justice had been on her side since the beginning?
Kimberly, however, only felt that she was intentionally provoking herself. She lowered her voice even further and warned, "Laura, I advise you to stop. If you don't give me an apology, I'll make it impossible for you to stay in this city in the future. I'll do what I say!"
Laura laughed.
She ignored the suddenly mad Kimberly and turned to walk out the front door.
"Laura!" said Kimberly as she ran after Laura.
She had just stepped out the front door when suddenly a black dot came flying through the air and hit her on the head in one fell swoop.
"Ah-" Kimberly screamed.
With her head full of egg and covered in eggshells, she glared hatefully at Dan, who was not far away, "What are you doing!"
Dan was crouching by the stone lion in the doorway. He shook the raw egg in his hand and said, "I'm hitting you with an egg, what? Can't you see?" Then he threw a few more eggs at Kimberly.
Kimberly was in a mess. She gritted her teeth, hating her to death in her heart, but because Dan was someone she couldn't afford to offend, she could only hold her tongue and say, "Stop it."
Suddenly, some of the onlookers recognized Kimberly and started taking pictures with their cell phones.
Kimberly was keenly aware of this movement and suddenly panicked. She covered her body and dodged, "Don't take pictures, please don't!"
Emma, who had caught wind of the incident, pushed her way through the crowd and grabbed her hand as she ran outside, "Quickly go! Ignore them!"
Watching them disappear, Dan turned the only two eggs in his hand and grimaced unhappily, "Just like that, huh? It's no fun."
He stood up and flexed his arm over Laura's shoulder, grinning at her, "Well? Were you satisfied with my performance just now?"
The corners of Laura's lips curled up, but she quickly forced them down again.
She purposely pursed her lips straight and said, "I'm not satisfied."
"Huh?" Dan's eyes widened.
Laura pretended to feel sorry for herself, "How can you smash it with an egg? What a waste of food. Next time you throw it in the trash."
