Chapter 112 Probe
Laura froze for a moment in the face of Eric's sudden and unfounded accusation, and she looked at Eric breathlessly.
Eric, however, took Laura's pause as acquiescence.
His look became increasingly disdainful, "I'm telling you, it's no use you following me."
Laura: "......"
She grabbed a random bottle of body wash off the shelf, threw it into her cart, ignored him outright, and walked away.
As a result, Laura's footsteps lurched as she pushed her shopping cart forward as she came around a corner.
She looked at the man walking towards her rather unexpectedly and raised her eyebrows gently.
What a lucky day. She was surprised to run into two acquaintances, one after the other.
"Laura, how are you," Anthony nodded gravely at her as he carried a bag of stuff.
"Anthony," Laura winked at him.
At that moment, Eric heard movement around the corner, and he looked over somewhat surprised.
"Are you here to do some shopping?"
"Yeah." Laura pointed to the cart, "I'm done already."
The two chatted as if no one else was there. Eric, who was not far away, looked at them in surprise.
How could it be possible for a wild girl like Laura to know a celebrity like Anthony?
"Thank you very much for your help last time." Laura ruffled the hair scattered around her ears, "Why don't I treat you to dinner some other time when I'm free!"
Anthony pursed his lips, "Uh-huh."
Anthony was already a man of few words; the initial question was merely an intentional approach, but now he was suddenly at a loss for what to say.
After a moment of silence, he tentatively said, "Laura, do you have any favorites?"
When he asked this, Anthony was rarely a little nervous.
After all, no one gave someone a gift before asking them directly to their face what they liked.
But, remembering what his girlfriend had said, "Why are you asking me that? Every girl is different. You should ask her in person." Anthony gradually calmed down.
He even calmly found an excuse: "I want to give my girlfriend a gift. But I don't know what to get, so I wanted to ask your opinion."
Laura came to a realization and thought seriously, "If you're giving a gift, some food and fun would be fine."
Anthony continued to test the waters, "You're into food and games?"
"Yes." Laura smiled brightly, "I usually like to taste food everywhere, and a good dessert can cheer up a person's mood. You could try giving your girlfriend a cupcake~"
Anthony gets an answer, his tightly pursed lip line loosening slightly as he nods.
He then said, "Did you take a cab here? Do you need me to drive you back?"
After all, Laura was the love of her best friend's life, so she had to be taken care of.
Laura smiled, "No need. I can get back on my own later."
Anthony wasn't offended by the refusal.
He nodded his head good-naturedly, and after saying goodbye to Laura, he turned around and left.
