Chapter 2: Framed
YASSY'S POV
This was my life living in our house with my step mom, Aunt Glenda. She hated me just like her daughter, Aubrey, my step-sister. My life turned upside down when my mom died. And to found out that my dad had a daughter outside, Aubrey.
Since they stepped in the Hanson Mansion, my life changed.
My dad was always in a business trip and whenever he was away, her treatment toward me would instantly change.
Jack Hanson, my dad, loved me same with Aubrey. He was fair to us. He might believe me but it was not in my vocabulary to break them. I didn't say anything to dad about on how they treat me when he was away. Because I knew and understand in myself that they were the new family of dad. So, I had to endure everything.
Dad met Aunt Glenda in the bar when he found out that my mom cheated on him. Sadly, mom's cheating was not true at all. Her relationship with his cousin who just came back from Canada was misunderstood. Dad had an affair because of it and mom never found it out until she died.
I entered my room and was clueless on how to start.
'How am I going to find that necklace?' I told myself.
So I just exhaled deeply as I held my aching arm.
I looked around, but there was no way the necklace could possibly be in my room.
I'd never consider stealing that necklace from her. First and foremost, I didn't need that and I knew that I could receive more than the beating from Aunt Glenda.
My dad once asked me to call her mom, I tried but I couldn't. I couldn't call her mom because my mom was incomparable. She was my one and only mother.
In any case, I was running out of time. It was not a good idea to think about it for too long. I looked at the clock and saw that I only had 20 minutes left.
Honestly, for now, they didn't give me a choice. I thought of running away instead. I want a quiet life. But, what about dad?
Ugh, I hope dad would come back early than the time he stated. Since King family was about to come for the marriage with my step-sister, he will come home.
Well, that marriage was decided by both parents of the family.
The Hanson family and the King family were had been partners since then and they were raising in to top of the wealthiest man in the city.
Sad to say, that was the reason my dad didn't see what was the real condition of mine with his second family. He was so busy in making his business grow even more.
While I was sitting on my bed thinking of what should I do, the door unexpectedly opened while I was packing my belongings.
"Oh, the thief, Yassy."
She entered and I looked at her
"I forgot to knock, I'm sorry. Wait a minute, I'll close the door and knock again. I'll show you some respect at least once in your life," Aubrey said as she closed the door.
I exhaled deeply and wished she'd leave because she was consuming too much of my time.
"Knock! Knock! Knock!" she exclaimed sarcastically as she knocked on my door. "Please, Yassy, the thief, let me in to your lovely room."
She walked into the room after opening the door. "How was it? Isn't it satisfying? Is it comforting to know that someone respects you?"
I simply stood up and pretended to be looking through the boxes for the necklace. I didn't say anything to her, which irritated her.
"You will pay that respect later on! Don't believe it was for free!" she said as she grabbed my clothes and pulled me closer to her.
"Are you finished?" I stated. This was the first time I had spoken back to Aubrey since then and her eyes widened in surprise. I didn't want fight, or any argument. Most especially, I know that she and her mom won't accept blame, to be wrong and be defeated.
She laughed and tried to hide her displeasure with my response. "Oh, you're brave enough to answer now, huh?"
"To be honest, this day will be the most embarrassing day of your life."
I thought if what kind of embarrassment she was talking to because I already experienced the extreme of everything from her and her mom.
She took her hands away from me and shook them off as if she were holding a speck of dirt then walked around with an evil smile inside my room like she was inspecting the things lightly to see if the necklace was there.
I was not bothered. I didn't care. I was just annoyed in my mind that she was intentionally taking my very short time.
But I felt a little strange when she walk over to my vanity mirror and smelled my perfume and sprayed it on her wrist.
'You have a not so good taste in terms of smell, huh," she said but I ignored it.
Her hand held everything then she finally took my small box of jewelries. She opened it and turned around and walk closer to me. And to my surprise, she pulled the missing necklace slowly in it.
My eyes widened together with my mouth because of exaggerating surprise.
How did that necklace went there?!
'W-wait! How did that happened?! How did that thing went in to my jewelry box?!"
'Oh… come on, Yassy. You just told us that you didn't take this necklace but… why is it here?" she said with a twitch in the corner of her lips.
'I-I don't know! I really didn't take that!" I said and I was telling the truth! If I was going to steal a thing, why would I going to put it in a place where it could be seen?!
F*ck. Someone framed me. I looked in to the face of Aubrey and I sensed that she had something to do with it but I didn't have any evidence. Besides, I was really not sure about it. What am I going to do?
'Liar! Mom has to know it now!" Aubrey shouted.
I was about to stop her but she went quickly with he necklace and left me inside my room.
What am I going to do? I'm sure enough that they would not going to believe me.
