CHAPTER 119; ''What if you had died?"

Li Guang liked Theresa immediately " It's my pleasure meeting you Theresa Mo" he replied and gave her a megawatt smile. "Same here Theresa" Paula responded and smiled, waving a hand at Theresa Mo and clinging to her little nephews. But Luciana showed her dislike for Theresa Mo and snorted. She just waved her aside and looked away. An act that was disapproved by everyone else present. Junxie Li looked at Julia and the latter said " This is my wife, Rita and we are expecting a baby soon" Julia said, wearing a weak smile. Everyone looked at Rita's ring finger and saw a wedding band. Julia also wore one and that was the first time Julia wore the damn fucking ring. " Hello Uncle,Aunt and Paula," Rita said, smiling faintly. Li Guang answered her exactly like he did to Theresa with a smile. Paul waved and said Hi to her. But Luciana looked at her scrutingly and said "well, yours is better" and gave a grin. Carol Li shook her head and walked away. Junxie Li was not pleased with the way his aunt behaved towards Theresa. The other younger women followed Carol Li to the kitchen while the boys soon left Paula and returned to the garden. Paula also stood up and followed and the men were left alone except Luciana who sat down and didn't want to Stand up to join the other women. Junxie Li and Julia had a distance walk into the inner part of the garden catching up on old memories. They had gone to these places to play when they were younger. They went to the orchard, like two boys they climbed to the top of the guava tree and plucked a few fruits. When plucking the fruits, Junxie Li remembered what Julia said about his ex Fiancee and he smiled. He's glad Theresa's boobs weren't that tiny. He had never considered such a thing before until after Julia made a mockery of Yolanda. "Did you remember Junxie, that day we came here a few years ago. I was feeling sickly and you let me climb your back and you brought me home to mum? That day, you promised me that you will never let anything happen to me in this life. And true to those words, you have protected me several times and once fought with a Mafia when we were in college. I am grateful Junxie, for being true to your words. Last time you were shot by Brian Zu, it was because you protected me and took the bullet in my place. I haven't stopped thinking about what would have happened if anything happened to you that day. What if you had died? Would I be able to forgive myself in this life for pushing you to your death? I would have lost my super brother and how was I supposed to paddle through life without you. Your wife and kids will be my best buddy and we all will be happy together" Julia confessed. Junxie smiled. He readily remembered that day. They had come over for their routine walk in the garden when Julia started throwing up. He looked pale and like he was going to faint. He became scared and didn't know how to take him back home to their mum, so he asked him to climb onto his back. He had told him he would protect him and not let anything happen to him in this life. It was a mere childish statement. But he loves his brother and has always thought it was his responsibility to protect him from harm. Whatever he had done in protecting Julia, it was his responsibility and not because he promised to look after him. "It was my responsibility to look after you as my little brother" Junxie Li declared and saw a ripen guava a little farther and went for it. "Anyways, thank you" Julia appreciated. The two brothers started helping themselves to the various fruits that interest them. Julia plucked the best ripened fruits and told his brother he was taking it to his nephews. Next time, he would bring them along to experience the same thing their Daddy and brother experienced when they are growing. "How are you coping with Rita and the excitement of seeing your baby?" Junxie Li asked. Julia smiled. The smile was for the thoughts of seeing a baby of his own who would look like Tim and Lee. But the first part of his question, he would lie. He had asked Rita to Cooperate with him. He wasn't going to let the cat out of the bag. He said everything was fine and that he had accepted her. He hopes to love her like he used to do. Junxie Li said he would love her when the baby arrives. He would see her as the woman who made him a father and wouldn't even realise how affectionate and loving he would become towards her. Julia said he hoped so. It was quiet for a long time. Everyone is thinking about their own woman. " I know you love Theresa very well. But just this last trip that you had, I can testify to the fact that she loves you very much. I am glad that she loves you Junxie, because you deserve her love. Have you guys had sex yet?" Julia asked. He looked towards his brother and he lingered a little before saying " We had sex last night" Julia smiled. "Congratulations Junxie. She's become your woman wholeheart" he complimented. He wished he was fortunate to meet such a sweet woman. "Thank you. I have never been happier in my life. I just hope the engagement tomorrow becomes successful. I want to be serious and legal with her" Junxie Li declared. "Lanre is up to the task. He was so happy that his friend Theresa Mo was getting hooked. I am happy too and I'm sure the kids would be happier. Theresa Mo is pure for you Junxie. In and out, she's only made for you" Julia complimented. While Junxie and Julia were having two brotherly discussions, Cheng Li and his brother Guang were discussing their own lives and catching up on old times. Tim and Lee were playing computer games. Everyone seemed to have a brother as all the male species present have a partner. "Tell me brother, how did Junxie Li end up having kids out of wedlock, he is disciplined and I know it?" Li Guang asked.
