ALESSIA MORRETI
Bianca sat still on the armchair, her whole weight rested upon it like it was her only support in life. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, 'Vittorio Morreti's daughter, could this be true?" She had a flash of thought about her foster father, Carlo. 'Could he have known?" She asked herself. She thought of all the training he had given her, what was it all really about? Maybe she was being prepared by her foster father as a weapon to destroy their enemies. But why then abandon her? None of them made any sense to her, she just sat there thinking about anything possible.
'Knock knock…" came the sound from the door before Isabella threw it open. She had an antique leather-covered photo album in her hand. 'All the Proof you may need is in here." She said as she handed the photo album to Bianca.
Bianca opened the album, and it was a collection of photos of Vittorio Morreti and a woman. This woman had Bianca's waist-length black hair and deep, honey-brown eyes. As Bianca flipped through the pages of the album, she saw pictures of her supposed biological father and this woman, who looked weirdly like her, in various locations. There were photos of them standing in front of a grand villa, walking along a beach, and laughing together at a formal event.
Bianca's heart was racing as she turned the pages. She felt like she was uncovering a part of her past that she never knew existed. She saw pictures of the woman pregnant, playing with Vittorio Morreti on a beach. There were even pictures of the woman's birthday party, with Vittorio smiling and holding her. They were obviously in love with each other.
As Bianca reached the end of the album, she saw a picture of the woman standing in front of a hospital. The picture was taken from a distance, with the woman seemingly unaware. She felt a lump form in her throat as she looked at the picture. She had so many questions, but she didn't know where to start. She looked up at Isabella, who was watching her with a sympathetic expression.
"Who is this woman?" Bianca asked, pointing to the woman in the picture.
Isabella hesitated before answering. "That's your mother, Bianca. Her name is Alessia Morreti."
Bianca's eyes widened in shock. She never thought she actually did have a real mother.
"What happened to her?" Bianca asked, her voice shaking with emotion.
Isabella's expression turned grim. "She stole from Vittorio Morreti and escaped, she didn't want anymore of the mafia lifestyle. Signore Morreti was devastated by her betrayal, and he became obsessed with finding her and getting his revenge. She was pregnant with you when she ran away."
Bianca's mind was reeling with questions and emotions.
'So how do you know all these?" She asked, even though she struggled to speak.
'Carlo was the most enthusiastic about finding your mother," Isabella responded quickly as she went to sit on the bed. 'He hated her and wanted to kill her. So when he found her, she had already given birth to you, he confronted her, and in the heat of the moment…" she stopped and waited to see if Bianca would ask her to continue indicating her interest. And she wasn't wrong. Bianca looked up to her face and asked, 'Did he kill her?"
'Yes, yes he did."
Bianca's eyes blurred with tears. She held back and put herself in order.
'According to him, it wasn't intentional, and she had caused the provocation that led to the shooting." Isabella paused her narration for a moment and then continued, 'he also claimed he killed her in self-defense. He insisted that if he didn't kill her, she would've done him."
Isabella stood up and came closer to Bianca. 'He didn't tell anyone anything about her child. That is the worst part of it all. Maybe Vittorio would have taken you in, and you wouldn't have had to pass through everything you had to endure."
'Carlo told you all these?" Bianca asked again
'When he took you in after you went through so many foster homes, he revealed the truth to me because he trusted me so much and also believed I was going to change La Fratellanza della Morte." Isabella paused again and laughed out loud like a psychic that she is actually, 'and he is not wrong. I will change La Fratellanza della Morte. I will put everything right." He turned and faced Bianca, 'I need you by my side to make that a reality. To change La Fratellanza della Morte and bring the much-needed progress, I will need you."
Bianca just sat there looking at her, she was talking too fast and too much. She had not explained the basic things to her, and she was going on about changing La Fratellanza della Morte. 'How are you his daughter, did your mother also steal from him and run away?" She asked with a stern look. Her gaze was piercing.
Isabella chuckled, 'Well, No. My mom was just an assistant that happened to have gotten pregnant for her boss. She was sent away, as you'd expect. Signore Morreti had to send her away because his father was going to kill the assistant if he discovered she was pregnant with his son.
