EXTRACTION DENIED
As soon as Gabriel had received the half payment from Luca, he was on the first flight to Philadelphia to get the mission on the way.
Gabriel moved through the shadows of Isabella's estate like smoke. The security was tight, too tight for a simple family home. Infrared sensors. Armed guards at every entrance. Motion-activated lights. This wasn't protection; this was a fortress keeping someone in.
'What kind of psycho lives here?", he thought as he disabled the third camera with practiced ease.
It was really not easy to identify Isabella's duplex in the estate despite the information Luca had emailed him.
He assessed the duplex through the back gate wasn't as hard as he had thought, the hard was now how to navigate through the compound undetected. Guards were patrolling the compound with trained security dogs who could catch a scent of him and put him in deep trouble.
He hid behind a hedge of neatly trimmed flowers, taking shallow breaths to avoid letting the sharp ears of the dogs catch the sound of his breath.
He observed the guards for a while and realized he would get a forty-five-second window between the turning of one guard to the next guard to assess the back entrance to the building.
He lay in wait as the guard approached and immediately he was clear past the point he could not see or hear him, Gabriel made a run for the door. On reaching the door, he discovered the door had a security lock, luckily for him, he had his security door breaching gears on him. So he got to work on the door.
By the time the door gave way, a guard was almost circling back to the back door. But it did give way and he quickly entered, quietly shutting the door behind him. He was in, now comes the hard part.
He began by searching the rooms on the down floor of the duplex, but when he was through with the down floor, he realized nobody was there. He went up the stairs as quietly as he could, with his gun in his hand, corked, and with a silencer on.
The first room he opened, he saw Bianca. She sat perfectly still in the oversized armchair, her hands folded on the table like she'd been waiting for him. He showed her his hands that he was not there to harm her and motioned to her to be quiet.
'Gabby!" Bianca exclaimed as she saw him. Her face tore in bewilderment. 'Luca sent me here to rescue you," Gabriel said as he approached her. Going straight to business that brought him there.
Bianca was shocked.
'He didn't tell me anything," she said, her face a canvas of confusion. 'Why would he send someone to me without letting me know. And I didn't tell him I was in trouble."
'I don't know what is going on between you two, I'm just here to do the job I was paid to do." He paused. 'So get up, and let's get the fuck out of here."
'No, that's not how it works," she said. 'Go back, tell Luca I will return to him when I know it's safe to do so. For now, he should wait on me and provide me with all the information he has at his disposal."
'I'm sorry Bee, but this isn't a negotiation," Gabriel said as his hands unintentionally twitched towards his now holstered pistol. 'Two hundred million dollars says I fucking bring you home. Now you're not denying me an early retirement Bee. Pack up let's move out.
'Woah… Gabby has it gotten to the point where you pull your gun at me?"
'I just want to get this job done and get my money. You're not going to deprive me of that are you?"
They both stood there, silent, watching each other.
'I don't what else you want me to say to you, but it is not safe if I leave now. It will only complicate things still further." Bianca paused and held Gabriel by both hands. 'Go and tell Luca I will come when the time is right, in fact, tell him I'll come back in one week." She said, trying to sound reassuring.
Gabriel stood still, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts. He was really going to lose out on an extra hundred million dollars because of Bianca. "You're making a mistake. He said and turned his back on her.
'Please, I beg you to understand me," she pleaded still.
The sound of approaching guards made them both tense. Bianca shoved Gabriel to a side of the room. "Now you will go before this gets messy."
Gabriel waited a little till her was sure the guard had passed before he opened the door and went out. As he moved into the shadows he dropped a few words for Bianca.
'Luca offered 200 million to get you and he knew you would resist. He's literally spinning away right now.."
He disappeared into the darkness.
