The Revelations (Part 2)

Nicole Jane's POV I was stunned for a moment. I blinked several times. But he was still standing in front of me, looking directly into my eyes. I admit that I felt a little scared of them at first. We're talking about vampires here! There's a possibility that they might drink my blood until I die, and I know I can't do anything about it because they're too strong. But somehow, I feel safe and protected with them as well. I don't know why, but even if I try to deny it, I know within myself that I can trust them. That they're not like the ones I see on TV shows or the ones believed to be evil vampires by other people. 'I... I..." I swallowed. I didn't know what to say or how to react because of what he confessed. I averted my gaze. I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement. News flash! Nicole Jane Parker knows how to blush all because of a vampire prince! Because whenever he looks at me like that, I feel like melting. And then he tells me things like that. Well, that just drowns me in even more excitement. Earlier, I almost fainted from nervousness. Now, it seems like the excitement might make me lose consciousness. My heart is racing, and I can feel my cheeks turning red. 'You're so cute when you're blushing," he teased, grinning. My eyes widened, and I playfully hit his shoulder. It's so embarrassing! I was about to speak again when Miley suddenly appeared out of nowhere. 'Kyle? Nics?" She looked back and forth between the two of us, puzzled. Reiri, who was beside her, did the same. Kyle let out a deep sigh. 'She already knows everything." Both their eyes widened. 'What? How? Why?" I almost jumped in surprise when someone else suddenly shouted. When I looked behind Miley, Vince and Hiro were there, mouths agape. Meanwhile, Kira stood quietly on the side, hands in his pockets. I didn't even notice him coming. The surroundings were filled with a deafening silence. But after recovering from the surprise, Kyle began narrating to them everything we had talked about, even his confession of feelings for me. It was embarrassing, especially when Miley, Reiri, and Hiro started teasing me. I felt giddy, but of course, I didn't want to show it. They all knew that we were mortal enemies. Then suddenly, in an instant, our relationship level escalated. But I couldn't help but feel uneasy whenever Vince gave me a piercing look. I don't know why. Right from the beginning, it seemed like we had bad vibes towards each other. I didn't even consider the fact that he was a vampire, that he could attack me whenever and wherever he wanted. Miley was about to tease me again when I noticed something sticking out of her pocket. As I looked at it closely, I gasped. 'Miley! How did you get that?" Surprised, I pointed at the necklace Dad gave me. She turned even paler because of my outburst. She quickly took out the necklace and handed it to me. 'Sorry. Honestly, I got it from your room earlier. I was just curious about how you got it. Kyle also has something similar," she mumbled, as if afraid of being scolded. 'Well, my dad gave me this when they brought me here. They told me to take care of it and always wear it. I only saw this necklace at that time," I explained to them. Kyle took the necklace from my hand and carefully examined it. 'Yes. It's exactly like the necklace Mom gave me. Wait, let me get it from my room." He handed the necklace back to me. In the blink of an eye, he disappeared from my side. All I felt was a strong gust of wind. Wow. I still couldn't help but be amazed at their extraordinary abilities. Not too long after, he returned with a necklace identical to mine. Even I couldn't help but wonder. 'Woah. Why do the two of you have the same thing?" Vince took the necklaces from us and placed them side by side. 'It's really puzzling. That necklace was made for vampires only. From what I overheard from Mom's conversation before, there are only two vampire families who possess such a thing. The two most powerful pureblood clans," Kira stated. I bit my lower lip. Because of what I learned about them today, I almost forgot about my own problems. 'Guys, you told me that I'm not one of you. But what if I am?" I hesitantly asked them. They all exchanged glances. Then Kyle looked at me with confusion on his face. 'What do you mean, Nicole? You're a human. We don't sense anything unusual in your blood," he assured me. But I could sense that he had doubts too. 'But I'm getting confused as well. Why do I have abilities similar to yours? Why can I do things that you can do? My wounds heal on their own. I also feel like I'm getting stronger. And there are times when my every movement becomes quick. Not to mention the clarity of my vision in the dark. Even my senses of touch and hearing have sharpened. Why? Why do I experience all of that? And why do we have this kind of necklace?" I felt like crying again, and the fear in my chest is starting to well up once more. I know who they really are, and I accept that. But I still don't know who or what I truly am, and whether I can accept myself. Reiri held my hand tightly. Worry was evident on her face. 'Honestly, we've also noticed those things about you. That's why we thought of entering your room to look for things that could give us clues about who you really are. But aside from the necklace, we didn't find anything else. We're just as confused as you are." We all fell silent. But after a while, Kyle suddenly stood in front of us. 'To be honest, there's something else you need to know." We all looked at him, stunned. Seriously? There's more? He began to unbutton his shirt, causing me to cover my eyes, although it had holes, and I let out a scream. 'What are you doing? Don't undress in front of us!" 'Yeah. It's gross!" Miley chimed in, joining me in my disapproval. He gave us a disdainful look while I could hear Hiro and Kira chuckling softly. 'Shut up, all of you. I just want to show you something that might help us. So, if you don't want to see it, then it's up to you," he said with a scowl. We fell silent and just looked at him, even though it still felt somewhat awkward. I gulped when I saw his bare chest. I thought he would unbutton more. But I was disappointed because that was as far as he went. My eyes widened with what I was thinking. I immediately shook my head. What am I even thinking? This guy is such a huge temptation! But I was interrupted in scolding myself when... 'You have the red mark too?" I covered my mouth, while others gasped He nodded. 'It appeared a few days after my birthday. Like you, I've been feeling something strange in my body since I turned eighteen. And not only that, I also found out that we have the same birthdate. The exact month, day, and year." Our jaws dropped at what we heard. 'Same birthdate, red mark, and necklace. How are all of these connected?" Hiro ruffled his hair. His face was contorted with frustration. 'Damn! Instead of finding clear answers to our questions, everything just became more complicated," he added. Vince rubbed the side of his temple. 'We couldn't go back to the library either. Someone caught us immediately." His voice sounded tired, and he looked exhausted. I didn't know what he was referring to, but I tried my best to ignore it and closed my eyes. My head was starting to hurt. It seems like it can't handle accepting all the information I've learned today. It's too much, and there's no longer enough space for some of it. What else do we need to know? Why is everything happening one after another? Can't we have a timeout for now? It's like feeling scared, then being happy, and then scared again. It's really confusing. The events have been too fast, and now I don't know what's true and what's not anymore. If it's all just a dream, and everything will be back to being normal again once I woke up. That all of this isn't actually happening in real life. But I opened my eyes when I suddenly felt him hugging me. His scent was surprisingly familiar to me. 'Don't worry. Everything will be okay. We're with you in finding the truth. I promise that we will not leave you alone. I won't leave you." His words made my heart flutter and brought me a sense of relief at the same time. Even though I still don't know what I truly feel for him. All I know is that I'm happy to be in his arms as he whispered soothing words to me. Being this close to him makes me feel protected. His touch relaxes me. Hearing his voice is like music to my ears. Having this vampire man by my side, who has become my enemy and yet also has feelings for me, makes my heart race for the first time. So, for now, I'll just cherish all of these first experiences.
