Chapter95
Heather's POV:
Something was wrong somewhere. My body had strange reactions lately but I refused to believe it was something serious. Maybe I was just tired.
I entered the bedroom and quickly got under the sheets.
Minutes later, Ace brought the food up in a tray. I sat up. He sat down by me and watched me eat. I was just so hungry that it surprised me.
I finished the fries and chicken laps in a jiffy. I drank the coke all at once too.
When I dropped the huge plastic cup down on the tray, I noticed Ace staring at me in amusement.
"Wow," he chuckled, "That was quick."
I smiled shyly, blushing. He smiled back and got the glass of aspirin.
"Here," he gave it to me and I drank it. The taste was awful.
"Ugh! Eew!" I said, twisting my face. He laughed and collected the glass.
"Sorry."
"Eurk!"
"It'll make you feel better," he put the tray on the floor. I motioned him to come sit at the top of the bed so I could put my head on his lap. He did so.
"Remember when I gave you my teddy bear? So you could sleep with it?" I said in a low voice while he caressed my head. He smiled.
"Yeah, how can I forget."
"It was that awfully rainy night when you, dad and uncle Paul had returned from a bad hunt."
"Yeah."
"I'd been so worried. When I heard your voices downstairs and heard you come up to your room, I couldn't resist coming to see you."
He smiled and when I looked up at him, he'd reddened a little.
"And I slept very well that night. The teddy had that sweet peppermint smell, you had as a kid."
Ace's POV:
She giggled.
"It was the body lotion I used to wear. Can you..." she yawned, "Can you believe that I'd intentionally applied a little quantity on the teddy? " she giggled again, " I had planned to give it to you. I–" she reddened, "I'd hoped you would think of me as you slept," she admitted.
My heart skipped a beat when I looked down as her. What would I have become if she wasn't there, after my father's death? Or worse, where would I have been?
"I always had you on my mind, even a kid."
"Really?" she asked in a soft voice, her eyes closed.
"Yeah. And yes, I thought of you that night. I slept very well. Though the next morning, there was a frowning Sawyer by me," I chuckled, "She'd make me scream immediately I woke up," I laughed but Heather didn't.
"Heather?" I caressed her cheek softly and smiled to myself. Sleeping beauty.
She'd fallen asleep on my lap while I spoke. I carefully adjusted and put her head on the pillow. I kissed her forehead and left the room.
Ace's POV:
Heather slept heavily the whole day. She slept from two PM and it was already past eight PM. I had a feeling she would sleep till the next day.
Maybe packing out of her apartment had gotten her really tired. The plans I had for both of us were ruined. But oh well, If things had turned out different, it was fine by me. As I watched a movie in the living room, I decided to call Keith.
"Hey man," he said, "How's it going over there with Heather? Hope neighbors ain't complaining about noise," he chuckled and I laughed a little.
"Things turned out different. I think she might be a little ill. Long story. Guess who we met today."
"Who?"
"Sheriff Bates."
"Tell me you're fucking kidding me."
"Nope, I ain't man."
"Woah! It's a total miracle. What did you do? Did you talk with him?"
"I'll tell you everything tomorrow. Don't call Christina yet, wait for me first."
"Alright. Sure."
"Okay goodnight."
"Yeah. Same to you."
I hung up.
There was heat and I stood up, deciding to get a cool shower.
I dropped the remote and ran upstairs. I entered the room and beauty was still asleep. I undressed and entered the bathroom for a shower.
After long minutes, I walked into the room with a towel round my waist. It was past nine And I felt a little tired too. I got a sweater from my closet and put it on with some boxers and that was it. No shorts. The pullover reached my mid thighs. I was a little hungry and plus, I didn't want to feel heat so i decided to go downstairs like that and eat. I would wear a short later, before sleeping. I went downstairs and ordered a pizza.
Thirty minutes later, I had it. I paid the guy and locked the door. I went to uncle Victor's former house office, sat down, thought and ate.

Heather's POV:
I fluttered my eyes open, yawning. I'd slept so well. I looked around for Ace. He wasn't there. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Then I smiled to myself. I'd had a wonderful dream about a successful future with Sheridan, full of love. I looked at the time.
"Past nine?" I said shocked.
Woah. How tired was I? Oh my!
The wonderful day we were planning to spend together was ruined by me. I felt awful. I quickly got out of bed and went straight to the bath to shower.
Once done, I returned to the room and that's when I realised I'd forgotten my night dress. So instead, I wore one of my short and light dresses. Nothing else. I then left to go meet him.
I found him sitting and eating a pizza slice in his uncle's former office. He was backing me. I approached him and kissed the back of his neck.
"Hm, someone's finally up," he smiled as I walked to his front.
"Yup. Was so tired. Don't know why," I sat on the table opposite him, taking a slice of pizza.
