Chapter 26
I grab my backpack and swing it over my shoulder before exiting my fourth period class.
My mother texted me in the middle of class asking me if Aurelia was treating me well.
How do I even answer that?!
Yeah, especially when her head is in between my thighs.
Ugh.
Do they know how close she and I are?
"Hey, mini Wilder" Aurelia teases as I walk up to her
I look up at her face only to notice that she's watching me with amusement.
She's kidding, right?
"Ew, I hate that nickname" I voice my distaste as I scrunch up my nose
It makes me cringe and it sounds like something a family member would say to me.
She laughs as she holds her hand out. I smile as I grab her hand and interlace our fingers together.
"What's wrong with your last name?" She questions mischievously as we make our way towards the double doors
"Nothing, it just sounds weird coming from you" I reply honestly as my eyes land on Bailey animatedly talking to Faith in front of the school
Oh god.
I feel so bad for Faith right now, but I can't help but find their encounter funny.
"Oh" she says making me furrow my brows at her vague answer
"What?" I question curiously as she pushes open the door and allows us to exit the building
"If you're not happy with your last name, but like saying mine, why don't I just give you my last name?" She suggests nonchalantly
Wha-
I-
How did she-?!
Ugh.
Smooth fucking bastard.
I remain silent as a prominent blush makes its way onto my face.
"That's why you should take care of your- oh, hi guys" Bailey rants only to smile when she sees us
Thank goodness that she didn't finish her sentence.
"Why is Hanna's face redder than a Christmas ornament?" Faith questions as she looks between Aurelia and I with a suspicious facial expression
Ugh.
"Kingsbury just asked me to marry her" I reply with an eye roll making Bailey's eyes widen
"It was a joke" Aurelia says with a chuckle
Sure.
"Didn't sound like a joke" I mutter under my breath
"Y'all give a whole new meaning to the word 'lesbian', you guys aren't even dating yet" Faith responds when the initial shock of 'getting married' wears off
Aurelia shrugs her shoulders as Bailey's mom pulls up in front of us.
The four of us quickly pile into Ms. Harrington's car. Aurelia, Faith and I sit in the back while Bailey sits in the passenger seat.
I distract myself with the movement of the trees as her mom pulls away from the curb and exits the school parking lot.
"What type of cookies should we make?" Aurelia whispers to me causing me to turn towards the black haired girl
Faith is too busy looking out of her side window while Bailey has a conversation with her mom about 'school lunches'.
She's so random.
"I don't know, what's your favorite?" I ask genuinely
I don't hate Aurelia as much as I like to think I do.
Therefore, if I ever want to pursue a relationship with her in the future I need to know her on a more personal level.
"Besides yours," she jokes, eyeing me up and down causing me to firmly smack her shoulder
Perv.
I can't help but blush as my lower belly begins to stir.
"I like the ones with Nutella in the center, vegan Nutella" she answers honestly
Interesting.
"Same," I reply
I actually haven't had vegan Nutella before but I can imagine that it tastes similar to regular Nutella.
"I personally think that they taste way better when they're homemade" I say as she watches me intently
Why is she looking at me like that?
Like I'm her favorite movie or something.
"I've never had homemade ones before" she tells me making my eyes widen
What?!
"You're kidding, right?" I ask
I really hope that she's kidding.
"Nope" she answers making me smile
Oh.
I'm definitely going to be her first.
"We're definitely making them" I state, not up for any objections
"I can't wait for you to be my first" she smirks
I stare at the grey eyed girl intensely as she lifts my hand up to her lips and places a gentle kiss on it.
Aww.
I smile as I lean over and plant a peck onto her cheek.
-
"Can you hand me the cocoa powder?" I ask the grey eyed girl as I begin to tie my blonde hair up into a fan bun
We arrived here a few minutes ago.
We took off our shoes and got comfortable, Aurelia even changed into a pair of light grey sweatpants and a 'Calvin Klein' sports bra.
I had to use all of my self control when I saw her remove her shirt.
"Have I told you how cute you look right now?" She questions, loosely wrapping her arms around my clothed waist
I'm currently still wearing my clothes from earlier with the addition of my glasses and a bun.
"Cocoa powder" I state as I point towards the cabinet where it is located
We're making a homemade vegan Nutella.
Hopefully it goes well.
She groans as she tilts her head back, giving me the perfect view of her Adam's apple, before releasing me and walking towards the cocoa powder.
I walk towards the refrigerator where I retrieve the almond milk and plant based butter.
I'm assuming that my parents recently bought these since we've never had this in our refrigerator before we met the Kingsbury's.
As I'm placing the ingredients on the counter Aurelia eyes me weirdly.
"Since when do you like almond milk?" She questions
Since forever.
But it's not like we've had a conversation about my milk preferences before.
I hate any type of milk that comes from an animal.
Cows, goats, you name it.
My reasoning for this is because their milk is for their babies. Their babies need their mothers milk in order to grow, just like we did when we were babies.
Whenever I see someone drinking animal milk I can't help but gag.
"I've always liked almond milk, but the recipe won't turn out right if I use regular milk" I state with a shrug
They should make more inclusive recipes.
I'd love to try out recipes that require rice milk or oat milk.
I feel like it would challenge me as a baker.
I hold my hand out only for her to place the cocoa powder in it making me smile.
This is going to be fun.
-
The time passed smoothly.
I combined and mixed the cookie base while Aurelia either loved up on me or pretended to be my sous chef.
So far she has successfully made me blush five times and safely prepared the homemade Nutella, which tastes extremely good.
"Get a spoon and drop some Nutella into these cookies" I tell her as I take balls of cookie dough and place them on a greased baking sheet
Aurelia silently complies as she walks over towards the silverware drawer and grabs a plastic spoon, not wanting to wash too many dishes afterwards.
She walks back over to me and grabs the Nutella spread before flattening my cookie dough balls and placing small spoonfuls of the homemade hazelnut spread on top of the uncooked dough.
She has a look of concentration on her face as she breezes through the task that I gave her.
If I'm being honest she looks extremely hot right now.
Calm down, Wilder.
She literally fucked you this morning.
Three times!
"Done" she says effectively breaking me out of my internal battle
I look over to the cookies and smile.
She did a really good job.
I take over and place more cookie dough over the Nutella.
Aurelia sneakily wraps her arms around my waist, from behind, causing me to jump in shock.
"What are you doing, Kingsbury?" I question as I continue on with my task
"Holding onto the love of my life" she mumbles as she leans down and places her chin on my shoulder
I scoff at this making her furrow her brows.
"We've barely known each other for two months, Kingsbury" I state
We met in the middle of August and it's currently the middle of October.
There's no way that she can be in love with me.
Especially since we're not even dating.
"I don't lie, princess" she says making me freeze as I finish the last cookie
I slowly turn around to face the black haired girl.
Her facial expression is serious, telling me that she's being genuine.
"Look me in the eye and tell me how I make you feel" I demand needing to know what I'm about to get myself into
The grey eyed girl removes her hands from me making my heart drop only for it to speed back up when she firmly grabs my cookie dough covered hands.
"Hanna Wilder, you make me feel insane," she starts off
"Your constant teasing and remarks keep me on the edge of my seat," she say making a small smile force it's way onto my face
"Your beauty is unreachable, from your long blonde hair to your various pairs of white converse you never fail to surprise me every time my eyes land on you," She continues making me laugh
I do have a ridiculous amount of white converse.
"I love the way to you care for your sisters and your parents even if they don't always notice," she takes a small break, a thoughtful look on her face
"So, how do you make me feel?" She rewords my question
"You make me feel like a starstruck preteen" she decides making me laugh
"A starstruck preteen?" I question curiously
"Yep, because whenever my eyes meet yours I'm instantly reminded of all the reasons I fell in love with you" She finishes making me pout
"Why do you have to be such a smooth talker?" I joke, trying not to cry at her confession
She smiles at this, leaning down to place a gentle kiss onto my forehead.
"So, I've been thinking," she starts again making me raise a brow at her
I already don't like where this is going.
"If you don't completely hate me, I'm hoping that you'll say yes to me taking you on a date?" She suggests
"Depends where we're going" I tease back hoping that she'll give me some more information
"That's a surprise, if you agree to the date of course" she states not wanting to force me into something I may not like
"Fine, I'll go on a date with you, if you tell me the dress code" I reply with a smirk making her roll her eyes
"Wear sneakers" is all she says making me nod
I remove my hands from hers since the dough is now warm and sticky.
"We should probably wash our hands before continuing" I say
"You're probably right" she agrees following me towards the sink
I hope these cookies come out decently good.
I've never made them with homemade vegan Nutella before.
