Chapter 36
"Why are you packing so early, you aren't leaving until the day after Christmas?" Faith asks as she looks through a rack of clothes
After breakfast my aunt Carolina offered to take us to the mall to pick out outfits for the 'Annual Christmas Party'.
Aunt Carolina's words, not mine.
"I am an extremely lazy person when it comes to packing so this is how I deal with it" I say with a small shrug as I pick up a short bright red dress
Eh.
I mean, it's not horrible.
Someones strong arms tighten around my waist just as the black haired girl leans down to rest her chin on my shoulder.
She has been really touchy with me all day.
I am not complaining though.
"That would look good on you" Aurelia says
Ugh.
Okay.
Now she just sounds like a broken tape.
"You have been saying that to everything that I pick up" I reply with a small laugh
According to her she already has an outfit picked out so she agreed to help me find a dress.
But she is just agreeing with everything that I pick up which defeats the purpose of me asking for her help.
"Because you look good in everything" she replies with a shrug
I roll my eyes at her compliment as I put the dress back on the rack and lean back into her warm hold, placing my hands on hers.
This feels nice.
"What are you going to wear?" I ask her hoping to get some inspiration
She smiles down at me, placing a kiss on the side of my head.
"I'm not telling you" she replies making me groan
"Why not?" I ask
I lean my head to the side and look up so that my hazel eyes meet her grey ones, giving her a childlike pout.
"Because it's a surprise" she answers with a cute voice
I furrow my eyebrows at the grey eyed girl.
"I hate surprises" I lie so that she will tell me what she plans on wearing
I am slightly desperate for at least a little inspiration.
"No, you don't" she says matter of factly making me pout again
She is right.
Of course, she is right.
"Hanna, how about this one?" My aunt Carolina asks
She holds up an oddly textured white dress which instantly brings a smile to my face.
"Sure, why not" I reply calmly
I am only going to wear the dress for two and a half hours, at most.
If I end up hating it in the future then I will either donate it or save it and pass it down to Isabella when she can fit into it.
-
"Stop it, Kingsbury" I whine out as she takes one of my french fries
Our friends are watching us with amused facial expressions as the black haired girl goes to grab another fry from my tray.
I successfully smack her hand away, taking a bite of my burger.
"You two are adorable" my aunt comments with a genuine grin making me blush with embarrassment
"Get this, they aren't even dating" Bailey exposes making me groan
Ugh.
Seriously?!
She is going to expose me right now?
Was yesterday not enough for her?
"Really? Tell me more" my aunt teases with an amused tone of voice
I take another bite of my burger as I watch the scene unfold with eager eyes.
"They met two weeks after Hanna broke up with Chadley and sparks immediately began to fly between the two of them" Bailey over exaggerates
She is making this sound like a fucking hallmark movie.
"That is not what happened" I state blankly
"Yeah, Hanna thought she was straight and used that as an excuse not to pursue her" Faith cuts in
Ugh.
"No, I was sitting at my desk and Aurelia was annoying the hell out of me with her 'I'm better than everyone in here' attitude" I correct them
"Ouch, princess" Aurelia jokes
I roll my eyes as I take another bite of my burger.
"Literally everyone in our school wanted to get with her, except for Hanna" Bailey says with an eye roll
They should be writing toddler books the way they are over exaggerating this story.
"What did she do?" My aunt asks curiously
"We invited Aurelia to sit with us and Hanna thought that it would be an amazing idea to run away" Faith answers
Ugh.
These two cannot tell a story for shit.
"I did not run away, she sat down and I excused myself so that I would not start anything" I state matter of factly, taking a bite of my burger
"A few weeks went by and this bitch got back together with her ex" Bailey ignores me
My eyes widen as I look over to the brunette.
Seriously?!
"And she started to avoid Aurelia" Faith adds on
Ugh.
I give up with these too.
My aunt Carolina seems to be very interested in this fictional story though.
"Chadley was being a sexist bastard to her while Aurelia was defending her and buying her skittles!" Bailey exclaims
I blush from embarrassment as I think about the time Chadley thought he 'put me in my place'.
Ugh.
I think that I was in denial.
"Then Faith and I's moody theater teacher forced us to make a short film with a 'twist' in two days" Bailey says with an eye roll
They are not seriously going to tell my fucking aunt about this?!
"Us, being too lazy, picked Romeo and Juliet" Faith tells her proudly
I do not know if that is something to be proud about.
"I'm not seeing the so called twist" my aunt cuts in
"Oh, we decided to use two girls instead of a girl and a guy" Bailey tells her
My aunt raises her brow with interest.
"So 'Juliet and Juliet'?" She questions
"Yeah basically" Faith says with a shrug
Aurelia attempts to take another one of my fries making me slap it out of her hand so that it lands on the table.
"I'm not seeing how this involves Hanna and Aurelia" my aunt teases with an amused laugh
Oh god.
I cannot watch this scene unfold.
"We chose them to be Romeo and Juliet, Aurelia wearing the pants for obvious reasons" Bailey informs her, side eying me
My jaw drops as I turn to face her.
Excuse me?!
"What is that supposed to mean?" I question
"I think it means that you're a bottom, Hanna" my aunt answers, trying not to laugh
Ugh.
I silently take a bite of my burger as I glare at the storytelling duo.
"More like a pillow princess" Bailey says
Faith and Aurelia burst into laughter while Bailey smirks amusedly at my wide eyed facial expression.
I am going to give her a very interesting gift for Christmas if she continues this.
Spoiler alert, it will not be pretty.
"Anyways, when the day came Hanna couldn't get her dress on because-" Faith begins to rant only for me to cut her off
"Shut up, Faith" I tell her with a glare
How would she feel if I said that she got topped by Bailey, our best friend, just from goddamn a kiss?
"Filming took forever, but it was worth it when we got the 'A'" Bailey shrugs
I still cannot believe they got away with the whole 'sex scene' thing.
Though we weren't naked it still seems odd.
"You should have seen their faces after they kissed" Faith says with a gossip-like tone of voice
Oh no.
"Scratch that, you should have seen Chadley's face when he caught his girlfriend kissing the girl that he hated" Bailey one ups
I was hoping that they would skip this part.
This is kind of embarrassing.
"Oh my goodness" my aunt comments with a shocked tone of voice
"Yeah, he bitched about it and broke up with Hanna" Aurelia says nonchalantly
Seriously?!
Her too?
I thought she was on my side!
"Like how the actual fuck did he not notice a huge ass camera?!" Bailey exclaims
A few people glance over at us with wide eyes.
I roll my eyes at the middle aged lady glaring at Bailey.
Ma'am, there are kids younger than us doing way more than cussing.
"Hanna locked herself in her room and avoided all our calls so Bailey and I came over to prevent her from repeating past scenarios" Faith says, thankfully not mentioning what the 'past scenarios' were
Hopefully their version of my apparently overly dramatic, fictional life story is coming to an end.
"She had the audacity to ignore Aurelia but open the door for Chadley!" Bailey says with an eye roll
Seriously?
We are doing this now?
"I didn't know who was at the door" I state
"Yeah, sure" she replies
Ugh.
I bring my hand up to slam again my forehead.
"Hanna and Chadley made up" Faith explains with an eye roll
"Then that same day I, being the bestest friend in the world, surprised her with Miss Kingsbury here" Bailey says proudly
She did not just-
"You bursted into my bedroom, forced me downstairs and locked me out of my house" I list off with an incredulous tone of voice
My aunt and Faith begin to chuckle at the two of us.
"Yeah, but I did it out of love," the brunette says placing a hand on her chest
I shake my head at her.
"Anyways, The lovebirds made up" Bailey says happily
I begin to tune out my friends who practically catch my aunt Carolina up on everything that happened in the past few months.
"Are you going to be busy on your birthday, like at night?" I nervously ask the black haired girl
She turns her attention away from Bailey's animated story explanation and towards me.
She smiles at my nervousness gently taking my hand in hers and interlocking our fingers. I smile as my hand lands on our intertwined hands.
"No, why?" She asks curiously, using her thumb to softly rub circles on the back of my hand
Great.
Then my plan might actually work.
"Do you think that I might be able to spend the night at yours, it is going to take me awhile to set up your presents?" I tell her
Her eyebrows raise in surprise as she removes her hand from mine and moves them up to her hair to put it up.
Is it hot in here or something?
"Sure, I don't really mind," she replies making me smile gratefully
She is going to be in for the shock of her life.
"I however am really interested in these 'presents' that you speak of" she teases
She finishes tying her black hair in a ponytail before bringing them back down to my empty ones.
"They're a surprise, therefore you have to wait" I tease her with a small smirk
She glances down at my lips biting hers in the process.
Fuck.
That is hot as fuck.
Ugh.
Now I am horny again.
"You and I both know that I'm not good at that" she whispers so that the three gossipers at our table do not hear us
I adjust myself so that my right leg is now over my left one.
Not so effectively dulling the throbbing in my core.
"Just kiss me, Kingsbury" I tell her with a small laugh when her eyes continue to stare at my lips
She does not object, bringing her soft hands up to rest on my flushed cheeks.
Barely three seconds go by before her magical soft pink lips are firmly planting themselves down on my eager ones.
"Ew, there are kids watching" Bailey pretends to gag as she throws a balled up napkin at us
I reluctantly pull away from the grey eyed girl with a sigh.
I turn to face the brunette, silently flipping her off.
This is a cruel punishment.
Okay, I am just being over dramatic.
But I am upset.
