Chapter 42
The hall is crowded with people, Emma walks around everywhere greeting the guests present. The guests are seated around the circular tables on the either sides of the walk leading the podium. Pleasant strains of melody music drifts through the crowd. The walk path is arranged with blue and white roses in a row and straight on the stage stands Riley. He is in a black, single breasted, satin tuxedo with a white wing collar shirt. He adjusts his tie and rubs the back of his neck, his stomach feeling weird. He nibbles on his lower lip staring at the large door, waiting to see her. The smell of fresh flowers fills in the air. The music stops, and all heads turn to face the far end of the walk. The opening to the bridal chorus begins to play. The door opens and there she comes down the isle.
Everyone in the crowd stares at her, surprised. Aiden has worn a strapless white wedding gown with white embroidery on her bodice. Rhinestone and pearl beads are sewn on her gown. She also has worn a two, tier veil, her hair tied up to a tiny bun with a matching crystal head piece. She holds a bouquet of blue roses and Blake's holds her left arm. There awaiting her is Riley, her husband to be. His eyes fixed on her as she walks to him, unable to believe the reality. Her appearance seems surreal. He covers his mouth and turns around, smiling. He clears his throat and inhales a deep breath to calm his pacing heart which will break out the ribcage any moment.
The music fades when she stops in front of Riley. He turns around, his eyes meet hers. He bites his lip, nervous as he gazes at her up and down. Every girl looks different and special in the wedding gown but for Aiden it's something more. Her lips spread to a slight smile noticing him.
'What's wrong?," she asks in a low voice.
He steps forward a little closer to her 'I don't know what should I do?," he stares.
She furrows her brows, puzzled.
'I think I'm head over heels for you," he says.. 'I'm struck by your beauty," he cover his his mouth with two fingers below his chin, 'God , help me," he cries.
Aiden laughs, he freezes looking into her eyes, awestruck.
'You're driving me nuts," he says.
After the prayer is over, it is the time to exchange rings. Blake, dressed in a blue tuxedo walks up to Riley, and hands over the blue velvet box. The crowd stares at them in awe as Riley takes her hand, his eyes fixed on her face not even willing to look down and slips the ring on Aiden's finger. She feels shy for once that she cannot look at him, she lowers her head. He watches her as she takes the ring box from Lisa and takes his hand, she faces him with a shy smile. A hot blood rush above her neck hearing her skin, as her neck and cheeks spread a shade of red. She puts the ring on his finger.
'By the power vested unto me I now proclaim you are husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
They step forward closer to each . Every breath he takes smell like vanilla and for the first since he'd himself, he doesn't feel shy. But Aiden did. Heat rises from her stomach to her chest, her heart skips a beat as his divine smell hit her nostrils. He takes another step erasing the little space between them, their eyes meet closer. He wraps his arms around her as if no one else existed, it's only him and her. He moves his head closer to hers.
'Am I now your type?," he asks, his breath hitching on her skin.
She chuckles 'No," she replies without hesitation .
'But you're now my type," he captures her lips.
Their eyes close, as their mind black out only with the thought of the person in their grip. They kiss till they are out if breath, and once they are lack of oxygen they pull back, their eyes open at the same time.
Riley and Aiden leaves the podium, the smile never leaving their faces. They stops at the end of the walk way, the crown gather behind them. She throws the bouquet. They turn around to see who received it. Aiden's smile widens when she spots the bouquet in Lisa's hands.
