CHAPTER 38: FUTURE SISTER-IN-LAW

Rian's POV: After a lot of congratulations that we received from both of our families, we finally found an excuse to free ourselves from their 'babies, babies, and babies conversation. "What's the name again of your fiancee, Dani?"  I turned to my brother while holding Alex's hand. "Sophia."  He answered while looking at the few people around. I can't help but to ask myself again. -'Sophia? why do I always encounter that name?'- "Are you searching for her?" I asked him again. "Yes." I rolled my eyes with his one-word answers. "Can you at least form even a single or a simple sentence, Dani? God, you're so annoying!" But he also turned to me----irritated. "And how do you want me to answer your questions? Her name is Sophia. Yes, I'm searching for her. Is that what you want?" A chuckle escaped from my lips. "Yes! That's exactly what I want. See? You can form a sentence and you somehow completed your answers." "Tss!" he sneered and continue to search from the crowd. Alex and I both chuckled with his reaction. But in the back of my head, I can't help wondering... is this really how he hates his fiancee and this engagement?  What is his problem? Why is he so affected with this, it's just a one-year agreement? And he's a man, forgodsake! But what keeps me more wondering was the real reason of his bride to be, why did she accept to be in this agreement? "I found her." He pointed with his finger the lady in a purple dress. Her back is facing us, so I can't see what's with her face that Dani hates the most. Is she that ugly, having bad breath or what? And my eyebrows crunched. -'Wait! Number one--- Sophia, number two--- purple? What a coincident!'- She's talking to some of their guests. And on my way towards her, the more my eyebrows knitted together. "Oh, God!"  I gasped and covered my mouth when she turned around. I also stopped in my trance and looked at the face of my confused brother who's now looking at me. "A-Are you sure.. she's your fiancee, Daniel?" "Yes. Why?"  He asked furrowing his eyebrows. I know he's a bit intrigue with my reaction. But I didn't answer him, I turned to look again with his so-called fiancee. I can't believe what my two eyes are seeing right now. My friend, my mentor, and now my dance instructor is the same person my brother is going to marry with. And she's going to be my sister in law two weeks from now. I love how fate is playing with our life and marriage. "Belle?" I called out her name, ignoring the confused stares of my brother and my husband. "Rian?"  Her eyes finally meet mine. Her mouth formed an 'A' then 'O' shape at the same time. It's clear that she's also surprised with this meeting. We walked towards each other and hugged the life out of us. "What are you doing here?" She asked first after kissing each other's cheeks. I bite my lip as I looked to Dani. "You know each other?" He asked the two of us. "You know him?" She also asked moving her eyes from me than to him. "Uhm.. he's actually my brother." I answered biting my lip again. I can feel how awkward this situation to her. "Ohh..." she said still in her surprised look. And then no one else dared to talk, until Dani asked the two of us with a raised eyebrow. "How did you two meet each other?" With that question, i smiled and take Belle's hand. "We came from the same university. She's actually my mentor and she's the one who introduced me to my band." I answered him repeating the exact sentence I explained with Gavin. "Mentor?"  Dani's eyebrows almost kissed each other. "Yes, it's a long story, Dani. And don't ask me on how, why and what because I know you're not interested." Now that I finally meet his so-called fiancee, I won't let him insult or judge her without even knowing her reasons why she agreed to marry him. I didn't miss the glare he gave me, but I choose to ignore him. He won't bite me.  I turned to my husband. "And hubby, she's our dance instructor. Our coach, she's the one I'm telling you the last time."  I completely ignored my brother but I didn't let go of Belle's hand. "Really?" Alex's asked in surprise. "Yes. By the way, hubby this is Belle, my most beautiful mentor in singing and now in dancing.. and Belle, this is Alex, my husband." I smiled as introduced them to each other. Dani is just watching us. "Wow! You're so talented, Belle. Nice to finally meet you." Alex offered his hand for a handshake and she accepted it. "Thank you." she smiled in her most charming smile. "Belle, welcome to the family." I told her with my most sincere smile. But my smile disappeared when I heard my brother's voice. "Why are you calling her Belle?" he asked totally out of place in our group. I rolled my eyes on him. If it's just happened that his fiancee is not in front of us... I'm gonna make him eat his words the last time I called him. And I will say.. -'I thought you don't care about her? And you're not interested with her.. with her life, with her background? I asked you about her family name and you answered.. you don't know and you don't want to know. Now, you're asking why are we calling her 'Belle'? Haha.. if you just set aside your pacific ocean's ego.. you know at least her full name!'- But...of course, I won't tell him that. There's a right time for everything.  "Ohh.. my dear big brother.. tsk.tsk.tsk. I'm calling her Belle, because that's her real nickname. And you know what is her real name? It's Sophia Ysabelle Del Mundo." I smiled sweetly at him. Her phone beeps, and the new notification appeared on the screen. But that's not what really caught my attention. On her phone screen... I saw the color yellow cartoon character.. 'Spongebob Squarepants'. I chuckled at the thoughts that popped up in my head. This is going to be amazing. I looked at Dani. A scowl never leaves on his face. After she read the message, I asked Belle. "You also love 'Spongebob Squarepants' Belle?" I smiled naughtily as I asked it a bit loud, enough for the two to hear. And I looked at them at the corner of my eyes. "Uhm.. yeah. It's kinda cute." she also smiled, having no clue with why I am smiling. "Spongebob Squarepants.. uhmm.. yeah, it's kinda cute." now I looked at the two and their face dropped. "Belle, can I talk to you in private?" "Sure." "I have a secret, and I want to share it with you." I smiled ear to ear. And guess what.. Alex's face turned sour while Dani's face looked so horrified. Poor Dani. "Let's go." I pulled her arm and we're about to stepped when they shouted my name in unison. "Rian!" that's my husband's voice. "Arrianna Angela!" ohh.. that's my beloved brother's voice. "What's your problem boys?"  I turned around.. acting annoyed with both my hands on my hips.  "I just want to talk to my sister in law in private! Do you have any problem with that? If you want you can watch TV and search for your favorite Spongebob Squarepants to lessen your foul mood!" I heard Belle's chuckle and I pulled her again. Actually, I just used the Spongebob topic to get her away from the crowd and to talk to her. I want to know everything. Whatever her reason or reasons, I will understand her. After knowing that she's my brother's fiancee and soon to be wife, the more my instinct kicked me that money is not involved with her decision of marrying my brother.
