CHAPTER 56: FRANCINE's ESCAPE PLAN

Saturday afternoon, Alex and I were currently in the living room when I felt a sudden movement inside my belly. "Oh my God!" I said getting up from his lap. My eyes were big as saucers and excitement was written on my face as I hold my now round belly. I am now in my six months of pregnancy. But Alex took my reaction in an opposite way. "Why baby? Is there something hurts inside you? What.. What happened?" he asked startled as he immediately kneeled in front of me and hold my hands. "No, it's something like that." I said grinning while watching his concerned expression. "What?" "I felt his movement! He kicked Alex!" I stated excitedly, but he scrunched his eyebrows. "You felt his movement and kick? Who's he?" My jaws dropped after hearing his questions. "Oh God, Alex! Your child moved inside my belly! He kicked!"  And by that, his eyes widened. "Ohh..! Really baby?"  I chuckled as I nodded. "Yes. And he's now kicking again!" I said laughing with tears as I felt the excitement inside me and the light tickling in my belly caused by my baby's movements. "Can I hear it?" he asked with the same expression as mine and I nodded. He shifted himself and brought his ear to my round belly. And after that, I saw the tears from his face. "Hey, you're crying?" I asked as I cupped both of his cheeks. I can feel my tears formed in my eyes. He kissed my both palms and hold it both with his hands. He smiled at me and another tear fell from his eyes. "I'm so happy, baby." He said looking at me directly. "Thank you." "For what?" I asked barely a whisper. "For staying with me, for forgiving my mistakes, for accepting Dino and for loving me, despite of all the things I did, especially for having Dino." my own tears rolled down on my face. I smiled at him. "It's because I love you." "And I love you too, baby. And I promise not to do that same mistakes again. I will take care of you, our baby----" "And Dino." I added. "Yeah, and Dino." he smiled as he hugged my waist. His face is on my round belly. "Speaking of Dino, did Francine already contact you this week?"  It's been a week when she took Dino and we haven't heard anything from her since that incident happened. "No. I haven't heard anything from her, why?" "I'm just worried by the way Dino reacts in front of her." "What do you mean?" he asked as he seated again beside me. And I started to tell him everything that I noticed from Francine's behavior to Dino's reactions last week. "Why didn't you tell me immediately?" "I - I forgot. I'm just too occupied with my thoughts this last few days."  We are in that situation when he received a sudden phone call. "Yes, good afternoon...what? And you're only informing me that right now?" I straightened my seat when I heard his shouts. "When did she withdraw the money?.. Are you a fucking idiot there? You let her took all the money without informing me? And it fucking happened yesterday, but you're only informing me now?" I wanted to ask what's happening, who took all the money and who is that 'her' he's referring to? "No! He's not in the hospital! You know I can sue you for your negligence! Fuck!" he cursed after ending the call. "What happened? Who's that? And who's that 'her' you're referring that took all the money?" "It's the fucking bitch, Francine! She withdrew all the money from Dino's account yesterday, and this fucking bank manager let her took it all!" "What?" my eyes widened in shock. "H-How does that happened...I mean, how did she do that? She needs your signature first-----" "The fucking woman faked my signature and present a medical abstract to prove that my son is in the hospital!" When I heard the word hospital, my heart started to pound inside my chest. "W-What if it's true that Dino is in the hospital?" "Then why didn't she call me if he's in the hospital? And why does she have to withdraw all the money in his account? She could have told me!" "Why don't you call her now, so you can ask her personally?" He sighed in a frustrated manner and dialled Francine's number. I shifted my seat closer to him and rubbed his arm and shoulder to calm his tensed body. He looked at me and kissed me on my forehead. But after some seconds, he cursed again. "Fuck! She doesn't answer!" He tried to call her again but after of another try, he said she's now totally out of coverage.  We were both shocked and startled for Francine's actions. He called all his men to contact her and to look for her in her apartment. But after an hour, we felt panic and alarmed when they said she's no longer in her house.  I called Dani and Belle about the news and they're also shocked. We tried to report the incident to the police and they're now investigating the bank where she withdrew all the money from Dino's account. All Alex's and Dani's men including the policemen we're searching for her and her son for almost three days, but all the results were still negative. We also tried to ask all the people that involved with her life and Myla, her girlfriend or boyfriend whatever she may call it, but she can't also give a positive response. Because as of her, Francine already broke up with her a month before she showed herself in Alex's office. So that means she doesn't have a clue with her plans. But the police also took her and hold her temporarily until they find out where is Francine's location. The search and operations took almost a week, until we received a call from Bryan, Belle's friend about the location of Francine's car. And take note... Dani's face turned sour than the kiwi fruit when he heard Bryan's name came out from Belle's mouth. But because the news was so important, he just clenched his jaws and watched his wife talked to Bryan on the phone. But a piece of bad news faced us all after that call. Francine's car finally found in San Bernardino City, almost one hour of drive from Los Angeles. We all rushed to where her car found but there's also a most shocking news that awaited us in that City. Dino and Francine met an accident based on the car's condition. We contacted the police department which covered the accident's area, and they reported that the persons involved in the accident we're now admitted to the nearest hospital. Sudden fear and anxiety covered all my body. I hugged Alex and tried to stop him from punching the hood of his car as he cursed loudly in rage. Dani helped me and talked to him while Belle hugged me and gave me a bottle of water to also calm my tense nerves. And after that, we drove in the hospital that the police told us where they brought the patients. And we didn't know that the big secrets were about to reveal in front of us. "Miss, where can we find the patient named Dino Joshua Imperial?" Belle asked the nurse in the reception area. "May I know what's your relationship to the patient, Ma'am?"  Belle turned to us, and Alex answered the nurse's question. "I'm his father!" I grabbed his tensed arm and I saw him sighed when he looked at me. "Patient Imperial is still in the emergency room, Sir." she politely said and pointed the way to the emergency room. "Thank you, Miss." Belle and I said in unison. Because we already know that no one from the boys will do that except us. When we reached the emergency room, the hospital staffs didn't allow us to enter inside, so we don't have any choice but to wait outside together with the relatives of some of the patients inside the emergency room. "Alex.." I patted his shoulder while taking a seat beside him. "He will be okay." I said with a smile even though deep inside, anxiety is already eating me up. "I'm sorry, baby." I crunched my eyebrows when he took my hands. "For what?" "For all of this. I made a huge mistake and now I'm dragging you again with this mess." "Alex.. we're a couple, we're partners here. Whatever your problems are, it's also my problems. And stop mentioning about those mistakes that you've done, it's in the past. We're now in the present and our future depends on this." He gave me a half-smile before he pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back. "Thank you, baby. I love you." he said kissing my forehead. I smiled on his shoulder. "I love you, too." I glanced up at Belle who's just watching us with a smile on her face. But when I looked at Dani, I noticed that he's not looking at us but to the face of his wife. He's staring at her with a different emotions written in his eyes. And my smile widened when Belle caught him staring at her. She raised her eyebrow but Dani immediately turned his eyes away and acted innocently as if nothing happened. "Relatives of patient Imperial.." We all rushed to the doctor who came out of the emergency room. "I'm his father." Alex introduced himself and we just listened to their conversation. "Sir, your son were suffered from severe injuries due to the accident." We all gasped from the news and I subconsciously hold Alex's hand. "And he needs a blood transfusion immediately because of the amount of blood loss from his------" "I - I am his father, I can donate my blood!" Alex interrupted the doctor. "Okay Sir, but we need to check first if your blood type is match to the patient." "I - I can also donate if my blood match with him." I said pressing Alex's hand.  "Oh.. I'm sorry Ma'am, but you're not allowed to donate and give blood while you're pregnant. And you will need to wait for six months after you gave birth before you can donate blood." "Ohh..." that's all I can say as I gulped the new information I've heard. "I'm not pregnant, you can also take my blood samples." All our heads were snapped to Belle. And I can't help myself not to chuckle when Dani's face turned sour behind her. "Okay Ma'am, please be ready. We will take your blood samples within five minutes." and the doctor entered again inside.  We waited for almost fifteen minutes for the results of Alex, Dani and Belle's blood sample if it's match with Dino's blood type. But the big news is now ready to arrive. "I'm sorry Sir, but your blood sample doesn't match with the patient's blood type. But the good news is, Miss del Mundo matched with him." We all turned to Belle and the doctor continued to explain all the types of blood and their matches, but there's one question swirling inside my head but I waited for her to finish her explanation. "How about Francine.. she's the mother of the child." I said after she finished talking. "We already check her blood type Ma'am, but like from the father, it also didn't match with the patient. And if it's possible matched, we can no longer extract blood from her because she's reported as dead on arrival before the ambulance arrived from the accident." "Oh, God!" I said covering my mouth. Tears welled up in both eyes. Yes, she's been a bitch lately but she still Dino's mother. I glanced up at Alex only to find him also shocked from what he heard. "Doc, how does it happened that both parents didn't match the blood type of their child?" "It also happens ma'am, but it's a rare case. And to tell you honestly I haven't handled such a case like that, because as I said it's a rare case. Most of the child gets his or her blood types either from his or mother or father. But in your case Sir, I'm sorry but you're not matched with your son's blood type." "Is it possible that he's not the father of the child?" Belle blurted out much to our surprise. "Oh, I'm sorry but I really can't answer that Ma'am. But I suggest you to have a DNA test both the father and the patient to know if they're really related." And after that, we just waited for the call for Belle to go inside. We were all shocked by the news, but we disregard it first as we need to make sure that Dino can survive this accident.
