Chapter Twenty Two
Third Person Pov
Liam watched as his sisters, Jessie and Cassidy walked into the living room with bored looks on their faces. They were the last to arrive as Tyler and Corey had already arrived earlier. He had a feeling that there would probably be an argument in this room by the time this meeting was over and he also had a feeling that this impromptu family meeting that Tyler called was going to also concern him in a lot of ways.
"Well, I guess we're all here now," Tyler said as soon as Cassidy and Jessie were seated.
He had invited his siblings to his place because he felt that I needed to talk to them and also sort things out because of how messed up the situation with their family was at the moment.
"Before I start to say anything, I'd first like to thank you guys for coming here today cause I know you must have had other things to do and I had suddenly just called you all out for a meeting," Tyler started, trying to contain his nervousness cause he usually never gathered his siblings to talk to them.
It wasn't as if he and his siblings weren't close but even the youngest one was already an adult so he definitely couldn't always advise them on what to do when it came to making their life decisions and he also didn't like situations where he would call them together and they would start fighting over the most ridiculous things.
"No offence Tyler but you threatened me to come here today because left to me, I wouldn't even be here to talk about God knows what but since I'm already here, how about you just get to why you called us here today so that we can wrap this up and all go home," Corey said and Tyler wasn't even surprised by his brother's reaction. He found it most difficult to get Corey to agree to join the meeting because usually, Corey liked to treat himself as an outcast and he always said he had no reason to interfere in anything that concerned the family.
"If you can be a little bit patient, I was just about to get that Corey. Anyway, the reason I called you all here today is that I feel like we need to talk about what's happening to our family and how we haven't been getting along in the last few weeks. I understand that we're not exactly to blame for what has been happening but I just felt like I needed us to talk about this so that we don't end up dragging this on for way too long and then not being able to talk about it later on,"
"I know some of you here feel like mom is entirely at fault for absolutely everything that is happening and I'm not exactly disagreeing with that but I also feel like we all have our parts to play in all of this and that is why I want you guys to talk about how you feel about the entire situation and what exactly is bothering you so we can find a common ground to solve things," Tyler explained watching out for the looks on their faces.
Corey could honestly care less about anything that concerned the family because as far as he was concerned, he had been ousted from the family affairs a long time ago and he didn't think that whatever was going on with them was any of his business anymore. He knew that the entire family was falling apart at the moment all thanks to their mother and also thanks to Liam but he didn't want to have any involvement with the situation because he just didn't care if everybody ended up going their separate ways.
As for Cassidy and Jessie, they both completely blamed their mother for everything and while Jessie couldn't care less if things got resolved or remained the way it was, Cassidy didn't mind trying to resolve things because she didn't like the fact that her family was falling apart over issues that could have been avoided. She certainly blamed their mother for everything because she felt like their mother was being very selfish and inconsiderate towards them and she also felt like their mother just didn't care if she was hurting their feelings with her actions.
Liam on the other hand had a feeling that he was also partly to blame for all of this. He knew that his mother was being selfish with her actions but at the same time, he couldn't help but admit that he was also being selfish with his and for that reason, he couldn't completely blame her for everything. Anita was only being desperate because her company was in danger of being sold to another fashion company and Liam could understand why she was being desperate to avoid losing large shares to a rival company.
He certainly didn't agree with her decisions at all and he would not take her side but since he was also being selfish at the moment, he didn't just want to blame it all on her and not accept his fault in the situation.
"So how exactly are we supposed to start this? Do we just start venting or what?" Cassidy asked.
"Well, if you feel like you have things you want to vent about you can go right ahead. What I had in mind was that anyone could just talk about how they feel and what they think is the root cause of everything that's going on," Tyler replied and Jessica scoffed.
"You have to forgive me for my reaction Tyler but did you just insinuate that we do not all know the root cause of what's going on? Who else is the reason behind all the fighting that has been going on between all of us in the past couple of weeks? As far as I remember, the person who has been insisting that Liam marries that ugly purple-headed bitch Hannah as being no one else but mom and that makes her the root cause of everything," Jessica hissed, and no one was surprised by her reaction.
"I agree that mum is the biggest problem that we have because she's making the wrong decisions out of desperation but do you think she's the only problem?" Tyler asked and Jessica rolled her eyes.
She couldn't believe that Tyler would even ask such an obvious question because anybody in their right mind would know that the person behind the entire issues they were having was their mother and she's also the only person that can put an end to it if she just stopped being selfish.
"I don't know what you guys are thinking or who you guys think is also a part of the problem but I can assure you that it's most certainly not me because I have every right to be upset with mom for trying to set up Liam with Hannah. I also don't think anyone else here is to blame for anything because we are all just victims of mom's long list of terrible decisions and as far as I'm concerned, she's to blame for everything," Jessica fired back and Corey rolled his eyes at her.
"Jessie sweetie, I get that you want to blame mom for everything because I agree that she is at fault for most of the things that are happening right now but I'm not going to just sit here and pretend like someone else amongst us isn't doing something wrong and also causing problems for the family right now," Corey chimed in and Liam let out a sigh as he already knew that Corey was coming for him.
"If you have something to say, Corey, how about you just man up and say whatever it is you have to say directly to whoever you are referring to instead of trying to act all smart by being indirect," Liam hissed and Corey scoffed.
"You know what I like about you Liam, it's that you are smart enough to read the room. I'm happy that you know that I'm referring to you because I know we all want to blame mom for everything and I'm not even disputing that she's at fault but please let's not act like Liam is a saint because trust me, he isn't," Corey stated and Tyler let out a sigh as he prepared himself mentally to deal with the argument between Corey and Liam.
Tyler wasn't a fan of arguing or fighting in any way but he knew that his younger brothers were always at loggerheads and he wasn't surprised that Corey had attacked Liam because he was honestly expecting it. He still couldn't understand why Corey and Liam didn't get along even after all these years and although it always seemed like Corey was kind of jealous of Liam in a way, Tyler didn't conclude it as just Corey being jealous and instead, he felt like there was something between both of them that caused them to just never get along in anything.
"Sorry to interrupt you guys but Corey, I don't understand why you would even blame Liam for anything because as far as I'm concerned, Liam hasn't done anything wrong and I see no reason why you should claim that mum isn't only one responsible for what's happening," Jessie said, earning a displeased look from Corey.
"I don't understand how you guys don't see him as a problem. Okay fine, mom wants Liam to marry Hannah because that was the offer that Garrison made to her in return for not sharing the shares. Jessica doesn't want Hannah to marry Liam and none of us here also want Hannah with him because Hannah has tried to kill Jessica before and we all detest that psycho. Now, the issue we're having with mom is that she's insisting on getting Liam to marry Hannah just because she's desperate and we all fault her for that. How about we do the same thing and point out Liam's fault?" Corey suggested and Jessica rolled her eyes.
"Corey, if this is another one of the problems you have with Liam just because you guys don't get along, then I suggest you just not say anything because I don't understand how Liam is to blame for anything that is happening right now. The main problem we're having and why we haven't been able to get along is because of mom's crazy decision to want Hannah to marry Liam and that is the reason why I left home and why neither one of us has gone home since that stupid dinner we had the last time. Now tell me, where exactly does Liam come in all of this?" Jessie asked.
"I agree with Jessie on this, Corey. I understand that you might have issues with Liam over something else entirely but this meeting isn't to sort out the issues between both of you but to talk about how we are going to get mum to snap out of the crazy ideas that she has in her head so that we can all find peace again instead of being like this," Cassidy chimed in.
"Thank you for seeing my point Cassidy but I don't think that we can snap mom out of whatever is going through her head because mom is determined to ruin this family and I don't think she's going to stop being crazy until she gets what she wants. I think the only way she's going to snap out of this is if the new collection ends up as a success and Garrison doesn't sell the shares to another fashion company," Jessie responded and Cassidy partly agreed with her.
"This is exactly why I said we shouldn't throw the entire blame on just mom. If we want mom to snap out of this, that means we need to make sure that the next collection is successful but here's the problem guys, even if we end up bringing out the best designs that the world has ever seen, there is an eighty percent chance that all our hard work is going to go down the drain and guess whose fault that's gonna be," Corey said, facing Liam directed.
"Now tell me, Liam, do you believe that you're not one of the biggest problems in our family?" Corey asked and Liam clenched his fists in anger.
