Chapter Eight
Gabrielle.
My eyes scanned the environment as soon as I parked my car and as much as I wasn't expecting anything worth looking at, I didn't expect the place to look so horrifying and disgusting. To think my silly rage and my thirst for revenge actually drove me here today just so I can personally teach that loud brat a lesson.
"Doesn't exactly look like a palace, does it?" a familiar husky voice says suddenly and I turn around to see Chris, one of my mom's hitmen who I had the misfortune of having to inherit.
"I wasn't exactly expecting to see a palace or anything but I'll be honest, it's worse than I thought," I confessed and he stared back at me coldly.
"It's actually the most decent one we have, trust me," he told me and I scoffed.
"Well then, I guess I should be thanking you for your kindness," I replied sarcastically and he rolled his eyes before leading me towards the entrance of the old warehouse where they had kept Katherine.
I know anyone who heard what happened would probably call me crazy for going as far as kidnapping a rude waitress who was only relaying her boss's instructions but if there's one thing that shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me anymore, it's my irrational anger and inability to tolerate disrespect especially if the person disrespecting me isn't even worth anything compared to me.
Katherine dug her own grave the minute she decided to look me in the eye and kick me out of a building I bought with my own money. Maybe if she were a little less impolite, I would have just brushed her off and focused on solely getting back at Gabriella for the embarrassment but no, she just had to talk down to me and that in my book, is unforgivable.
We finally got inside the place and I swear, if I thought the exterior of the place was disgusting, I had no idea that it was only a tip of the iceberg. The interior looked, felt and smelt like a place where hundreds of people had died in a not so good way and it sent a crazy, creepy shiver down my spine.
"I thought you said this is the best you've got?" I asked an unbothered Chris who simply glared at me briefly before looking away.
"This is no palace princess. Get that into your head," he replied rudely and I almost lashed out but kept my cool when I remembered who he was, where I was and how easy it'd be for him to just snap my neck in half.
We arrived at where Katherine was tied up and a weird feeling of guilt overwhelmed me for a split second seeing her haggard and in pain she looked being tied to a chair like that with a duck tape over her mouth and several bruises all over her face and body. It seemed the bitch struggled and got a good beating. Well, I'm not even surprised.
"What do you want to do with her?" Chris asked.
"Well, I don't know. I haven't decided yet. How long has she been out?" I asked.
"About an hour. Should I wake her?" he asked, I nodded affirmatively and he immediately picked up a bucket of what I assumed contained cold water which turned out to not only be cold but also dirty and threw it on her face to snap her out of it.
Her eyes slowly started to flutter open and when it finally did, she looked up with obvious fear and her eyes grew two times wider when her eyes met mine.
"Hello Katie, remember me?" I greeted with a sly smile tugging on my lips.
She stayed quiet for a while after Chris got rid of the duct tape preventing her from speaking and it seemed like she was still trying to understand what was happening and if truly she wasn't seeing things.
"Miss Gabriella?" she asked and I scoffed.
"Really, you idiot? You still can't differentiate between us even after you dared to throw me out of the cafe a few days ago? Well, aren't you just stupid?" I hissed irritatedly and she stared back at me with a dazed expression.
"W...wait, what's h... happening? Why...am I here? What did I d...do wrong?" she stuttered, her lips trembling in fear and I immediately felt triggered.
"Did you just ask me what you did wrong? Really? Did you not just hear what I said? Okay then, let me be kind enough to refresh your memory. You my dear, kicked me out of the cafe you work at a few days ago and you didn't just kick me out, you disrespected and insulted my friend and I in the most rude and insolent way. In other words, you forgot your place you stupid, irrelevant bitch!" I yelled furiously at her, recalling how she had boldly and daringly embarrassed us and making us look like idiots.
"B...but, I w...as only following y...your sis...sister's instructions. She told me not to let you in," she tells me shakily with her voice trembling and tears rolling down her cheeks nonstop.
"Exactly that my dear! She only said not to let me see her but that did not give you the right to fucking disrespect me the way you did and for that sweetie, I'm sorry but you're gonna have to pay with your life cause nobody, absolutely nobody is allowed to fucking talk to me as they please and unfortunately for you, you'll be learning that the hard way," I said to her with a sly and satisfied smile playing on my lips as I watched her repeatedly beg and plead for my forgiveness and that I should spare her life.
I'll never understand why people always choose the hard way to learn. She could have just avoided getting killed if only she had been smart enough to be polite. Truth is, I wish I didn't have to do this. In fact, I don't want to kill her cause I've never actually taken a person's life before but weirdly, something in me can't just let go of the insult and the humiliation I felt when she practically kicked me out like a dog and for the first time ever, I want to appease my anger by doing what needed to be done myself.
"So, what's next princess, would you like to do the honour or should I?" Chris asked, pulling out a black handgun and waving it in my face.
"No...no...no, ma'am, please don't do this to me. I'm really sorry, I swear I am, I promise I'll never disrespect you ever again just please don't kill me I beg of you please. I'm sorry for everything I said and I promise I'll never do it again, please have mercy..." Katherine rants on and on, distracting my thoughts and I unconsciously, out of anger and irritation, send a tight slap across her face that caught her completely off guard.
"Shut the hell up you bitch!" I yelled at her in frustration, staring back at Chris and at the black object that he carelessly held in his hands.
"So, will you do it or not? We really don't have all day to decide," he drawled impatiently and I took a deep shaky breath before muttering out my next words.
"First, put something over her mouth. Her constant pleas are irritating me." I instruct and he immediately picks up a duck tape and uses it to seal Katherine's mouth shut, although she did try to put up a good fight but another tight slap from Chris and her noisy hole immediately went numb.
"What now?" Chris asked, obviously running out of patience.
"Hand it over," I muttered slowly, putting my hand out and he immediately placed the gun in my hands. My hands feel slightly sweaty and a nervous and excited feeling overwhelms me as soon as I feel the weight of the weapon in my hands.
Call me crazy but the fear I had earlier started to disappear as soon as I realised just how much power I had in my hands right now. I could take a person's life in a split second with this thing and that obvious fact made me feel both powerful and fulfilled.
"Do you know how to pull it?" He asks, staring at me with an amused and impressed expression.
"I think so," I replied.
"Then do it. I dare you," he said suddenly and my eyes widened slightly at his sudden confrontation. Judging by that look in his eyes, he probably doesn't think I have what it takes to actually pull the damn trigger and the fact that he underestimates me makes me feel both insulted and excited. If only he knew just how much I loved a good challenge.
"Are you daring me?" I asked and he scoffed.
"Hurry up princess, you're taking too much…," he's saying but before he completes whatever it is he has to say, I pull it.
I pulled the damn trigger and my oh my was it satisfying to watch Katherine fight so hard to survive whilst been unable to scream out loud and then and there, I watched her eyes widen slightly one last time before it finally closed, with her blood pouring out of her stomach, where I had actually aimed at and surprisingly didn't miss and I could tell by how long it took her to actually stop breathing that she still tried to fight even in death. Sad but interesting.
"Happy now mister?" I teased a slightly taken aback Chris, who just stared back at me without saying anything.
"I guess I was wrong about you. Didn't think you actually had it in you," he said.
"You have no idea how much I have it in me, Mister. Anyways, now that this is over, I'd like you to make sure they're no traces of my existence in such a place and also, I'd like her body to be dumped in front of the cafe so that my sister can see what exactly happens to anyone who disrespects me. Is that clear?" I instructed.
"Whatever you wish, miss," he replied in his usual husky tone and I immediately handed him the gun and turned to leave but not before making sure that he cleans off my fingerprints right in front of me.
"Oh Chris, one more thing," I said and he turned to look at me.
"Don't forget to burn down that cafe. I don't know how you're gonna do it but that place must be in ashes tonight with her dead body lying right in front of it, we clear?" I added and he stared at me with an unimpressed look.
"We're already on it, miss. We'll get the job done and you know the rest," he replied a little too coldly for me but I brushed it off since he doesn't matter anyway. The only business I had with him and his brother was to pay them to do my dirty work and nothing else.
I walk out of the warehouse and back to my car with an unexplainable feeling of fulfilment and sheer happiness. I may not have enjoyed the idea of killing someone in the past but now that I actually did it, it feels kind of refreshing and it's definitely something I'd like to do to that bitch that calls herself my sister and hers will be a long and painful experience.
