Chapter 26
Who is he? Another Karl?
"Where you went?" He almost yelled in front of my face which sent a shiver to my body. He was nice to me but now-- he is behaving like Karl.
Why?
"Do you have any idea how I have been worried about you?" He kicked the nearby chair by his leg.
What? I stood there speechless.
"Harry?" I almost whispered. "What happened to you?" I asked and stretched my hand to touch him, but he shoved my hand away.
"I tried to contact you many times but it didn't reach," He whispered slowly.
Okay. He is creating a scene for nothing.
"Harry I gave my phone to my brother for his project work and I don't have another one." I pointed out.
"Then why didn't you show up for the whole week?" He fisted his hand and took a step forward while I took one step backward.
"My brother needs my help so I---" But he cut me off in my midst "Dammit!! Here I thought you might have gotten an accident or something but you enjoyed your time with your family, aren't you?" He shouted again.
That's it. He touched my sensitive spot. "What's your problem, Harry? I didn't do anything wrong. If I want to spend some time with my family then, of course, I will do." I raised my hand in the air.
"I don't think I own any of your permission and it's none of your business." I spat angrily and walked past him to reach the door. But his next voice stopped me on my track.
"What?" I furrowed my brows totally confused by his words.
"I thought you were dead," he whispered again.
Dead? I glued on my spot. No words came into my mind. What made him think like that? This is silly, isn't it?
"But I'm alright," I said and went near him to reach his hand but his next gesture made me freeze on my spot once again.
He is crying.
"I even tried to contact you on your social media but no response. At least you have to drop me a message about your situation but you didn't. Why?" He asked, his voice was broken.
"Harry I didn't think it's a big matter to you. I had taken one week leave. That's all. It's not a big deal." I tried to comfort him but he was not convinced as I thought.
He shook his head. "So I am nothing to you. Isn't it?" He asked looking directly into my eyes.
Harrry! I didn't say that.
"It not like that, Harry. I just..."
"It's okay, Sheila. I get your point." He averted his eyes from me before walking out of the room.
I felt totally numb, he made me feel guilty. I thought no one is going to care about my absence but he worried about me while I was there enjoying my life with my family.
I followed him where he went, but he was nowhere to find. Most probably he would have gone to his class. I let out a long sigh. I will deal with him later. Now I want to face two more peoples.
Oops!! I forget Tammy. What about him?? Is he too mad at me?? Ahhh!! Stupid! Stupid!! Stupid!!! I mentally scolded myself for being such a fool.

Sheila's POV:
"I'm sorry okay, don't create too much scene." I scolded him and as a response, he narrowed his eyes at me before folding his hands in front of his chest.
"Really?!" He raised his eyebrow, his tone held accusation.
"Who is creating a scene here? You or-- me?" He pointed a finger at his chest when he said the word me.
"You have been absent for a month and you didn't even attend my call." He snarled like a Rhinoceros.
"Oh, God! Tammy. Don't be a drama queen. I just absent for a week and it's my hundred times I'm telling you that I gave my phone to my brother for his project work. Can't you understand?" I asked him placing both my hands on my hips.
"Okay! As you said you gave him your phone--" Even before he could complete his slogans I nodded my head like a child followed by a curious 'yes' as I thought he finally understood me but the disappointment in his look strike down my hope in an instant.
"Okay leave it. That's not a problem but that doesn't mean you can't call me. Right?" He inquired.
Ahh... How I am supposed to explain everything to him that I have one phone but it will not receive any call, instead, it uses only for outgoing.
That was my first phone my dad presented on my 18th birthday and the next day it accidentally slipped down into the water while I was washing the dish.
What can I say? Instead of putting plates into the sink, I put my phone. From that day it wasn't working properly. I cried for a month because that was the first gift I received from my dad; something he got me from his hard saved money but it all went futile.
"Tammy, I have one but it was not working properly. What made you think that I didn't try to call you? Lots of time I had tried to call you but the line went busy. Then how come I do contact you?" I lied.
Please fall into my trap. No more question Tammy!!! Framing lies were no easy task for me. Please! Don't push me further. I prayed internally.
And it worked on him.
His facial expression was unbearable. I bit my tongue to prevent the maniac laugh which will break our friendship bond anytime soon. His eyes widen in surprise like a Panda before he spoke.
"Sheila, trust me." He put both his hand on his chest. "I was not busy with my phone. I barely talked to my girl. Maybe twice a day!" he exclaimed.
