Chapter 9
Whenever I get free time I read books or sleep. I have read almost five hundred romance novels till today but the thirst for the book I have didn't quench even after I spend my every two hours reading novels.
I'm a bookworm. No one can beat me!
"Be on time. Bye! Bye!" He was happy. At least today I made him happy.
Now I can't refuse his offer because it all worth it. He is the one and only friend I got from college and I can't deny him.
But---
What if I spot Karl there? Will he treat me nicely?
As I promised him earlier I went to his home to attend the party. I just wore a simple navy blue gown and a matching ear stud with two bangles. I curled my hair and let them free on my waist. Totally, I look presentable for the party; Not too good either ugly.
Tammy engulfed me in his warm embrace the time he spotted my nervous frame before dragging me to the group of his friends. Like an excited kid, Tammy introduced me to his friends but I am not attracted to them.
They all have a disgusting look on their face like I was some kind of worthless species. And to say, I have a weird feeling in my heart that something wrong is going to happen here. I don't know why but I feel this way.
Sensing my uncomfortable tract, Tammy squeezed my hand in a comforting manner all the while his face exhibited tenderness as saying I'm here for you. I gave him a small smile to let him know I'm fine despite deep down my stomach is curling because of the weird thought. He nodded his head before offering me a drink.
Alcohol?
I looked at the drinks hesitantly because I don't have a habit of drinking. "No, I can't," I declined politely only to hear his chuckle.
"It's just an apple juice, you can drink this. What compelled you to think that I am offering you a drink?" He asked amusement was written all over his face.
"Ahh..." I just shrugged my shoulder.
I heard that they offer alcohol at the party and even girls would drink without any thoughts. I wonder don't they afraid of their parents? If I do and they come to know, my mom's best weapon broom would beat me to the core until I surrender my dear life to God.
Later at night, we had more fun at the party. He said he never hooked with a girl like me before because he found me innocent that gradually made me roll my eyes.
God knows only what the truth is.
Dear Tammy. Don't underestimate the power of girls. I may calm and innocent towards you people because you are new to me. If you really wanted to get to know more about me then come to my village and ask the small kid who Sheila is. You will know then who I am exactly.
"I'm leaving. It's getting late." I said glancing at my wristwatch but like a true gentleman, he tried to give me a ride. "I already booked Uber so there is no need for any ride," I pointed out.
At that time I received a message from the driver. "See!" I showed him a message that somehow eased his worries. I gave him one last hug before hurrying my way out but look like I did a bad move. I bumped into the waiter and the drinks he was carrying in the tray spilled into someone who was very familiar to me in an unpleasant way.
He looked so furious.
I gulped down slowly thinking the awful history is going to repeat again. Why him? Of all these people why him?
"What the hell are you doing here?" he yelled and I shivered under his hard tone.
"I invited her." A voice defended me.
I turned my left to see the source of the voice and saw Tammy was standing beside me.
"And why?" He asked annoyingly.
"Because she is my friend," he mumbled.
"Friend!" He raised his eyebrows at him like he is not believing his cousin. "Well... your friend did two mistakes and need to punish." He uttered arrogantly.
"It's not college, Karl. And please it's not her fault. I only forced her to attend the party," Tammy explained.
Tammy if you had ever listened to me once I would be sleeping on my bed right this time.
"Stop it!" He yelled loudly that gained most of the guest's attention from the party. Then his glance turned towards me. I wanted to run away from him for my dear life but I glued myself there.
"Get out!" He grabbed my hand and pushed me down to the floor. I fell down on my face and the floor hit my head strongly; I felt dizzy at that moment. Everyone's attention turned towards us, some of them have a look of what the hell is going on here.
"Security!" He yelled, making myself wince. Suddenly a man who seemed to be in his late forties came and stood there. He had a blank expression on his face like what to do?
"Get her out of here. Immediately." He ordered.
I'm not a dog. Why are you treating me this way? My inner self screamed.
The security took one step towards me, but even before he could grab my arms, someone hold his hand stopping him from touching me.
"No need. She is my guest. I will take care of this." Said a well brave Tammy.
Then he helped me to stand up and gave me an apologetic look. "I will give you a ride." he announced firmly.
"You will regret this Tammy." Said a hard voice. He tensed slightly but without looking at Karl he guided me towards his car.
The ride was indeed horrible. We didn't utter any words; the moment felt we two are the complete stranger.
