The interior of the house where Joshua and Carla went in was a mixture of traditional and contemporary theme. It was obvious that the structure was built during the nineties era because the architecture has a theme of the said decade, but some furniture has modern designs that fit well in the overall structure of the house. 'The furniture are included in the selling price," Joshua said as he accompanied Carla in the living room. 'And as for me, there are a lot of things that I want to change in the house. I like an industrial minimalist theme. How about you?" Joshua waited for Carla to answer, who didn't, but instead looked away after a few moments of them looking at each other. 'Well, it's okay if you still can't decide now," Joshua said, a little bit embarrassed with Carla's quietness. 'If you'll change the design, then why buy it?" Carla asked. 'Well, I like the shape of the house, and also the landscaping. And the location is good as well. It's just near TGH. It will be easier for you if ever." Carla turned to face Joshua. 'Why does it matter?" 'Well, because you'll live here as well," answered Joshua. Carla gaped at him in shock. 'Why do you look so… shocked?" Joshua frowned. 'Because I am!" Carla exclaimed. 'Are you insinuating we live together? Because Joshua, I won't do that. Do you really want my father to have you imprisoned?" 'Hey! That's not what I mean," Joshua said as he tried to calm Carla. 'I never thought of living with you until we're married." 'Married?" Carla asked. Joshua nodded. 'Yes. And, like what I've just said, there are a lot of things I want to change in this house, so we still cannot live in here." 'Joshua, it has only been a few weeks since I became your girlfriend. We haven't celebrated our first monthsary yet. You're already thinking about getting married?" Joshua was stunned. 'I'm… sorry…" Joshua said. 'I just thought you'll love to see this place." He looked around the living room. 'When this was offered to me, I immediately thought it will be a good place for us to settle down. As I've said, it's near your workplace and the subdivision is very secured." Carla kind of felt guilty with what he said. 'I'm sorry. I'm… I'm just tired. I just came from my shift." Joshua smiled at her. 'It's okay. I understand." Carla walked around the living room like she was examining it. 'Don't you think it's too… it's too soon?" 'Huh?" Joshua asked. 'Getting married." Carla faced him. 'Like what I've said, we haven't even celebrated our first month yet. Then you're already thinking about marriage." 'Well, we're old enough to settle down, right?" Joshua said. 'Besides, the renovation will take some time. It can take a year or more than that." 'Joshua…" Carla swallowed. She can't think of anything else right now but those posts about someone not being able to move on yet. 'I think it's too soon for you to think that… what we have is for forever." Joshua stared at her. Carla thought that he was hurt about what she said. She can't do anything about it. She has to be honest, because that's how it is, right? In love, you have to be honest with each other. 'Can you really say that we were destined to each other?" 'Because it's what I feel." Truth is, Joshua is thinking about how he can tell Carla that they are destined for each other without mentioning the red thread of fate. 'I feel that you're the one for me," he added. 'How can you even be sure about that?" Carla asked, with frustration lacing her voice. 'Because I can feel it in my heart," Joshua answered. 'Joshua…" Carla is really frustrated right now. 'Okay, you're in love with me right now that's why you are saying that. But what if someone else is destined for you? What if what we have right now, it's just a chapter of your life? An episode in this lifelong series you're living in. After this, things will happen, you'll meet other people, you'll fall in love with someone else." 'My love for you will never change," Joshua told her. He's obviously trying to suppress his frustration. 'I won't fall in love with someone else." 'And how can you be sure about that?" 'I am very sure of that!" Carla was stunned when Joshua shouted. The latter kind of realized what he just did. 'I'm sorry. I never meant to shout on you. I'm just a little pissed." He looked around again. 'I just thought you'll like this house." 'It happened to you and Caith." Joshua looked at Carla again. The latter looked back as she blinked the tears that are starting to form in her eyes. 'You also thought she was the one, right? Everyone thought that you'll end up together. But it didn't happen. You broke up." 'It's different this time," Joshua said. 'Joshua… What if…" Joshua kind of sensed what Carla is about to ask. 'Don't…" He shook his head. 'Please don't go there." But Carla continued. 'What if Caitlyn Soriano is really the one for you?" 'Don't say that…" Joshua said while shaking his head. 'She's still in love with you, Josh. She's still hurting because you broke up." 'That's not true!" Joshua shouted again, but this time he did not feel guilty and continued shouting. 'I already told you, right? She cheated on me! She chose someone else over me!" 'But she's still hurting!" Carla shouted as well. 'Joshua, her posts are very painful it breaks my heart reading them." Joshua was stunned. 'I can feel the regret that she's feeling right now. Okay, maybe… maybe she really did mess up. But right now, right now she's starting to realize that you're the one she loves. That she regrets leaving you for someone else." 'Why are you defending her?" 'I just understand her," Carla answered. 'I can feel her pain. I can feel her regret. I can feel her remorse." 'She's just doing that because her career was ruined when we broke up. The fans could not love her like the way they did when we were still a love team." 'That is so conceited of you, Joshua." 'I'm just being honest. Isn't it that when you love a person, you should be honest?" Carla did not answer. 'I can prove to you that we're meant for each other." Carla frowned but did not answer. 'Do you want me to do it?" Joshua did not wait for Carla's answer. He immediately grabbed her and kissed her on the lips. Carla was shocked, but she did not push him away. It didn't take long for her to get lost in the kiss and respond. Maybe because her love for him is overflowing, that's why even though her mind is sad with what she is reading in the social media, she still wasn't able to stop herself from making her feel her love for him. After what seemed like forever, Joshua pulled away from the kiss. He immediately saw the reason why he suddenly kissed Carla. He smiled when he saw the red thread of fate that connects his heart to her. 'We are meant for each other." He looked at her. 'Because you are my red thread." Carla frowned. Joshua closed his eyes like he was concentrating, then after a few seconds he opened his eyes and looked at her. 'Look down at my chest," Joshua suddenly told her. Carla was confused as to what is happening, but she still did what Joshua said. There she saw a red glowing string that seems to connect her heart to Joshua's. 'What is this?" Carla asked. 'Our red thread of fate." Carla looked at Joshua. 'That means, we're meant for each other." Joshua smiled weakly. Carla looked at the red thread again. She's not sure if she will be amazed or afraid of the mystery that she is seeing. 'So don't ever doubt… that we'll end up together… because we will…" Carla's eyes returned to Joshua. What she heard was right. He sounded exhausted and weak. As she looks at him right now, he really looks weak and seems to pass out. 'We're destined for each other…" It was quite breathy like Joshua is struggling for air. 'Are you okay?" Carla suddenly felt worried about Joshua. 'I'm a bit… dizzy…" Joshua closed his eyes. 'Ria is not lying… It really is… weakening…" He flopped on the nearby sofa while Carla held him to support him. 'What do you mean? What did Ria tell you?" Carla is really worried right now. 'I'll be fine," Joshua said even though his eyes are still closed. 'I just need to rest a bit." 'What is happening? Joshua…" Joshua held her hand and put it in his chest. 'I'm a Human Cupid."
