CHAPTER 26: A crowd at her door.

Jordan paused and looked at Tina. The latter looked at an empty space, thinking and analysing a possibility. " The autopsy report for the fingerprints found on Kitty's is here right?" She asked, now glancing at Jordan whose head was placed on the back rest of his seat. " Yeah" he answered, thinking and contemplating on his own thoughts. Maybe Tina can think and analyse things faster than him. "Compare the fingerprints with Pascal's. The probability is there that he killed Kitty and he was shot to conceal it.." Tina asked. Jordan squinted and glanced at Tina. That is possible though. Such things happen in movies and home com where they destroy any evidence or link that might get them implicated. He nodded. He would ask the forestry department to do something soon. He took his phone and called the head of the forestry department. " I want Pascal Parker's fingerprints analysis and it's urgent please…" he requested and hung up. " That might be a possibility. Thank you for being smart" Jordan smiled and turned on the ignition. "I will drop you off at home and return to the office, I need to personally interrogate Collins" Jordan stated. "No, I am returning to the office with you,"Tina insisted. She looked away, knowing Jordan might throw glances at her. Jordan squinted. What kind of a human is Tina? Despite her fractured arm, she still insisted on working and not going home. He us relieving her of work to go home and rest, and she wouldn't, insisting she would return with him to the office. "No, you'll go home and rest. I will continue the investigation from where we stop, ok?" Jordan insisted. "No, detective Jordan. I am not used to being treated like a toddler. I am returning with you to the office and that is not negotiable" Tina declared. "There is not much work left. I am returning to the office because I needed to interrogate Collins Bruno. You return home and rest for the day. You narrowly escaped a deadly attack. I won't want you to break down before realizing that you need to have some time off. I am ordering you to go home and you must obey the last command" Jordan ordered. Tina became quiet. Jordan turned on the car ignition and started the car. "Where do you live?" He asked. Tina gave him her address and he drove in that direction. Tina just stayed relaxed. She doesn't feel like parting with him. But he insisted that she return home. She wants to work side by side with him. But the law in the force is that you obey superiors first before laying your complaints. "Do you feel uncomfortable with my presence?" Tina asked, giving Jordan a side view glance. The latter paused and squinted. He turned and glanced at her briefly before chuckling aloud " on the contrary, I think I enjoyed your company" he smiled and said nothing else. Tina didn't say anything either. They both were quiet on the way to her apartment. " If you observe any movement or trailing next time, get yourself mingled with the crowd. Even if you don't know where the road will lead you, just go in the path where Many cars are taking. This is something you know already as a detective,just reminding you though. Then call me immediately. I will track your cell phone number and cross you. And don't think I want you to be away from me that's why I insisted you should go home. Rachel taught me to appreciate women and think more of making things comfortable for them before thinking of myself or another man…" Jordan explained. He tried clearing any misconception that his insistence that she go home might have caused. Tina nodded and thanked him. She likes it though that he is the type that appreciates women. But making mention of his wife again,makes her jealous. From the way he talks about her, it shows he loves her. He is deeply in love with his wife. Despite, she was yet to meet his wife Rachel, she already knows her name and how much her husband cares about her. When they arrived at Tina's house, he parked at the ground floor and said he was going to escort her in. Tina smiled and was happy. They got in the elevator and arrived at the second floor where Tina's apartment is. But a scene greeted them. They saw a few of her neighbors all crowded around her door and some peeping. What is going on here? Tina walked closer until one of the neighbors pointed her finger at her " here she is" Sergeant Kelvin sneaked into his office. He had his bluetooth on and called " Kitty's boyfriend has been arrested and is being interrogated as we speak. The autopsy report is with Jordan I guess. I don't know how your men can cross him and get the report. I will keep you posted on how things unfold and how far the team has gone about it. But Jordan is a hard knot to crack.."he explained quickly and in a low tone. He kept on looking to see if anyone was approaching or if someone was eavesdropping on his conversation. He is the insider that leaks the secrets and information of the department to the outsider at a price. He had informed them about Tina's arrival and how she could be attacked. He also had heard about her past achievements and discipline. And seeing that she now works side by side with Jordan, the two would be like a volcano, destroying any obstacle on their path to get answers. He wished his client could arrange for his boys to cross Jordan. No matter how strong a man is, he cannot be stronger than five men attacking him at the same time from different Angles. But the client said no. There's nothing in the autopsy report that might indicate or ever point fingers at them to Jordan. It would only point them to someone else. How smart he is, no one can underestimate his ability when it comes to strategy. All the neighbors looked in her direction. They saw her arrive with a man, handsome and charming. Such a compressing aura emanating from him. Quickly they assume he is her boyfriend. They fit perfectly as lovers. Both tall with a Feminine attraction and masculine charms. "Miss, we were going to call you when you arrived,"The neighbor who pointed at her said, her eyes resting on the man behind her. This man, his face is familiar. Who is he and why was he with the new neighbor? He is very handsome and she wished her daughter was there so she could introduce them. Such a man is who she admired for a future son-in-law. If her daughter could get hooked up with a man as handsome as this fellow, she wouldn't rest until she saw them bonded. " I am here now. What's going on?" Tina asked, looking past everyone standing and looked at her door. To her utmost surprise, the door was kicked open. " Your apartment was robbed. We do not know when it happens, only that at a time, I heard the door sound like being forced open. I didn't raise an alarm but thought you were in and perhaps have a problem with your door. Only a few minutes ago, I realised that your apartment was broken into.." the neighbor explained. "I think we should call the police before anyone gets in, perhaps some fingerprints can be detected" another neighbor said, a man standing with his arms crossed around his chest. Tina turned and looked at Jordan. The latter looked at her too and their eyes locked. These people don't understand what happened. But she did, and Jordan does as well. Those who attacked her must have burgled her apartment to see if they can find anything useful to them. Perhaps they were after the recording that Tina had from Lulu. It's so unfortunate. It's too late for them.
