CHAPTER 43; Someone is crushing.

" We both will track the car together," Tina declared. She seemed to say it as a commitment rather than of necessity. She is afraid of what might happen to him if he goes alone. What if it's a trap to lure him? Would she let him go alone and face those rascals? What if they gather in their numbers and lured him there. They would just fight him to his death. Jordan turned and glanced at Tina. He stared at her. Why is she talking like Rachel? The last person who was so concerned about his safety was Rachel. Now, Tina is making him think about those good old days. He chuckled and told her to go and get a backup and meet him then. Rather than go, Tina pulled the walkie talking strapped around Jordan's belt and sent a message of backup immediately. Every attempt to send her back was proving abortive. He has this feeling that it's going to be bloody. There might be some casualties as well. He doesn't want to endanger her life. She might be a detective like himself but she is still a female. He wouldn't let any harm come to any woman around him henceforth. He looked relaxed as if it wasn't his car that was stolen. It may have been stolen but he knew he would get it back. It can't be missing forever. "Stop stalling for time detective Jordan" Tina requested and the latter shrugged. His pistol is strapped around the other side of his belt but the extra gun and bullets are in the car. As he started approaching the gate, he brought out his walkie talking and started making a report. His car has been stolen and there are some confidential documents in the car. He needed to track it and get the car back, retrieving the documents back. He soon finished making a report and Kunle called. He asked that Jordan wait for him. He is on his way already. He received the message through the communication department and was heading to them at once. As Kunle and Isabella drove towards the hospital where Jordan and Tina were asked to wait, the patrol van was loaded with a few officers. They were following Kunle from a few distance behind. Jordan was calm except that he kept looking at his wristwatch. Some documents were in the car that are also important. He can't afford to lose any of those documents or allow them to fall into the hands of the wrong person. Kunle soon drove towards them and the two detectives got in. Tina kept glancing at Jordan at intervals but the latter pretended not to notice. " Your car is sophisticated, how can anyone succeed in getting into it in the first place?" Isabella asked and Kunle said he was going to ask the same question as well. Jordan replied and said, it's only possible if someone has access to his censor or has its duplicate. Talking about the censor, he remembered that they had no specific direction they were heading if they couldn't track the car. He activated the censor and it wasn't responding. He did it two more times and still,no response. He immediately brought out his phone, and started trying to locate where the car might be. Tina was sitting by him in the passengers' seat and saw all he was doing. He was relaxed while doing it and doesn't appear as if he just lost a car. " Drive towards the road to the University square and make a turn by your left" Jordan directed. He could detect his car was somewhere around there. The inbuilt tracking device was blinking in a place around there. Kunle did without asking questions. He knew Jordan was tracking the car. He kept driving and after twenty minutes, he arrived at the University square. They parked. Kunle had hardly parked the car when Jordan received a text message on his phone. He read through it and remained expressionless. Jordan looked around and soon detected the place where the car is. He asked that the other detectives wait for him while he go and find his car. He instructed the patrol team to stop and wait as well. He would call them when he needs them. In the meantime, everyone should wait for his call. " What do you mean Jordan? We should wait here while you go and find your car?" Tina blurted out. How can Jordan be so annoying? He is a senior colleague but that doesn't mean he would make grave mistakes and they will sheepishly obey him. Does he know where exactly the car is? Even if he does, they cannot allow him go alone, it's too risky to let him go alone. " What part of wait here don't you understand detective Tina? Are you going to defy my orders?" Jordan bellowed. Isabella knew something was odd. Jordan has his reasons for asking them to wait where they are. He was trying to aviod something only he knows about. Without another word, Jordan started descending on a pedestrian. He kept going and the other detectives exchanged glances. Tina was going to talk when Kunle beat her to it "we will follow if he didn't call us after thirty minutes" "What do you mean thirty minutes? Does it take that long to hurt someone? How can you say that Kunle? F*ck! damn! What kind of job do you do in this country? No wonder criminal rates is high in this part of the world. If after five minutes, I don't hear or get a call to follow up, I will go in search of him. I won't let anything happen to him.."Tina was fuming in rage. What has she done to have left her job and come take up a job in this place? These set of people she is working with are too slow for her liking. Kunle just stared at Tina, is there anything else besides being a detective under Jordan? Why does he feel her reaction was more than it should be for a colleague? Is what he is thinking true, could there really be something going on? He stared at Tina and the latter suddenly realized she had reacted too much, she turned and glanced at Kunle sharply "What?" She asked as their eyes became even. "Oh, nothing" Kunle responded and raised his hands up with a quiet chuckle. He turned away from Tina and smirked. "Someone is crushing here!" He said loud enough for them three to hear. " Whatever" Tina replied, not denying it at all. Isabella smiled, she wished things fall into place, that Jordan reciprocate this feeling that Tina has for him. That he opens his heart and embrace love again. She subconsciously glanced at Kunle and caught him stealing glances at her too. They both harmoniously chuckled and looked away. They are still having something for each other but none of them wants to accept that reality. But maybe is Isabella that don't want to accept that reality. As for Kunle he was ever ready to get things straightened between them but the latter vehemently refused to get back to him. If this case was not so urgent and important to Jordan, he would have talked some senses into them already. He is good at that even if he finds it difficult to love any other woman after Rachel's death. They were still waiting for Jordan's call when suddenly they heard gunshots coming from the direction he went. "Jordan!!!"
