Chapter 150: Alpha Lleus' Awakening
On the Snow Mountains struck , deeper inside, Viktor, Alfonso, and Daisy had successfully entered the ice chambers.
"Is this really him?" Alfonso whispered, amazed, and a step closer.
"Yes," Daisy said with firm softness. "This is Alpha Lleus. He has been like this for six months, brought in her by me and my brother by Queen Rieka's orders. But today, we bring him back."
Viktor did not take his eyes for a single second from the lifeless body of the Alpha as his heartbeat ran wildly in his chest. "I can hardly believe that finally I am looking upon him again-my half-brother-after so many months."
Daisy laid a comforting hand on Viktor's shoulder. "It's not about seeing him, Viktor, but waking him. He is the key for us to take Ariadne down and bring the balance back. You ready for this? "
Viktor nodded . "More than ever.".
She drew closer to him and collected spider rose flower from him. It was almost glowing, deep crimson-colored, pulsed softly with some otherworldly energy. "This is a very rare flower, a very powerful one," she said most carefully. "Infused into a potion and drunk, it is said to revive even the dead. Still, caution must be taken because the ritual requires patience and strength."
Alfonso furrowed his brow. "How are we going to prepare it? And supposing this does not work?"
"It will work," said Daisy, even as her eyes fluttered, "We will reduce these petals to paste, add the enchanted snow water from these mountains, and administer three times to Lleus. His body must absorb that energy. Do not lose faith."
"Here," Daisy said, extending the first dose to Viktor. "You should give it to him.
Taking the bowl in her hands despite his racing heart, Viktor hunched down beside Alpha Lleus and leaned him carefully back. He got a slight and the potion emptied into his mouth. A moment later, nothing had changed: nothing on Lleus's body moved, and Viktor's heart nose-dived.
Alfonso crossed his arms, furrowing his brow. "Are we certain this will work? He no different."
"It is only the first shot," Daisy said, her voice shaking. "These things take time. He has lain there all these for mo. It is not a miracle that shall happen overnights."
Indeed, two more shots within a successive twenty-four-hour period was given but still Lleus was not moving. They were consumed in this room by tension because now their minds seemed wrapped by some shadow.
Alfonso slammed his hand on the ice-cold wall. "We've done everything right! Why isn't he waking up?
"Alfonso, stop," Daisy said firmly. "This is so sensitive. You really think at no time in all these months I have not doubted a thousand times? I didn't give up then and won't do that now"
Viktor had been silent until then, but he sat up beside the Alpha and said, "Daisy's right. We can't give up on him. Lleus wouldn't give up on us." He looked over at Daisy and asked. "What else can we do?"
"We wait," she whispered back. "We stay with him and give him strength, even when that is all we can do.
And so, they waited. Days turned into the passing of time as one watched over Lleus while his hope would never break, even when it wavered. They spoke to him, told stories of wars fought and sacrifices made. Viktor told him of their lineage-of a brother he had yet to meet fully.
The third day was different. Viktor was standing watch at Lleus's side when his fingers moved a little.
"Daisy!" he exclaimed.
She turned to him, Alfonso beside her. "What?"
"His hand," he pointed. "It moved."
With held, collective breath and dead silence between them, Lleus's chest started a shallow and light, but nonetheless regular, rise and fall in the beginning stage of breathing.
"It's working," Daisy whispered, brilliance welling in her eyes but spilling nowhere.
And so the three remained with him, sweet words and all, to life his spirit. A week passed, and the difference was somewhat visible on Lleus-the pale face on his flesh and body and the rope of muscles beneath just about healed.
Finally, his eyes flickered open: piercing silver, sharp, commanding, full of strength from a true Alpha.
Viktor leaned forward, his body shuddering with emotion. "Lleus… it's me, Viktor. Your brother."
Lleus turned his head, his eyes locking into Viktor's in a slow move. A little play of a smile began to appear on the lips. "Brother…"
Alfonso exploded in a relieved laugh and clapped Viktor on his back. "You did it, Viktor. He's awake!
Daisy knelt beside Lleus and laid her hand delicately upon his arm. "You're back, Alpha .We have waited for you so long."
Lleus sat up in slow, jerky, but deliberative motions. He peered into the faces of those who had fought to return him. But his first words now spoken in deep resonance took them all by surprise.
"Where is my Luna?
The question hung heavy in the ice. Daisy's smile fell for a second as she looked at Viktor and Alfonso.
"We… don't know," she stammered. "Ariadne's reign has scattered many of our allies. But we'll find her. I promise."
The muscles in Lleus's jaw set, his eyes blazed to life bright with an inner determination. "Then we waste no more time. My Luna is somewhere out there, and I'll find her. And if Ariadne stands in my way, she will be sorry."
Viktor exchanged a glance with Alfonso, both of them feeling Lleus's words. This was the beginning of a new chapter in their fight against Ariadne. With Lleus awake, their chances of victory had grown.
'We're with you, Lleus," Viktor said firmly. 'Every step of the way."
Daisy nodded, her face set . "We are going to put her together, and Ariadne is going to pay for all she's done."
Lleus stood up, his presence commanding the attention of all others in the room. His strength was not yet fully regained, but his spirit was energized
"Then let us prepare," he said. "Ariadne shall know the folly of challenging an Alpha.
