Chapter 50 Worst Argument

"GET OUT! Get away from here! GET OUT!", Carlos yelled when he arrived home and Dina had welcomed him with her happy smile. Dina was surprised and was truly horrified by how Carlos had just treated her. "W-wait! Carlos, what is happening here? Why? And where is Dino?", Dina asked, panicking. "Dino? Your son? I sent him to his father already since he knows that I am not his real father. Isn't it just proper to return him to his real dad?", Carlos replied in a sarcastic tone. "You did what?! Carlos are you insane?!", Dina blurted out angrily. 'Rico knew now about his son. He knows about Dino and it would be good if you would just go back to him as his wife again!", Carlos answered. Dina couldn't believe what Carlos is saying, she doesn't know what is happening now. "And yes, I am insane! I was crazy to bring you to Canada! Everything had turned downhill when you and your son had entered my life!", Carlos hissed angrily. "I don't understand Carlos. Why are you blaming us now? I am really sorry because we had become your burden but you said---' "I regret all the things I have said and done! I should have told you how painful it is for me when I lost my teaching license and even up to now I couldn't find any decent job because everyone treats me as evil and useless person! It's all because of you!", Carlos yelled furiously. But Carlos... I don't understand. Why are doing this to me now? And why have you given Dino to Rico! You are the one he recognizes as his father and he loves you so much!", Dina yelled back. "That's too bad... I really couldn't love someone who's not my flesh and blood especially he's the son of your scumbag husband! Go back! I don't need you here!", Carlos yelled again and hurriedly went to Dina's room. Dina immediately followed him and she saw Carlos went over to her closet and took out her clothes in bulk at a time. Dina just stared at him, she is still confused and she doesn't know why Carlos is doing these things. They were okay when they left earlier. "Stop doing that!", Dina shouted as she forcefully snatching her clothes away from his hand and putting them back in the closet, but like a toddler having tantrums, Carlos just hurriedly did the opposite as well. Dina is almost running out of patience and she decided to aggressively hold Carlos's shoulders and stared into his eyes. "Tell me what is wrong. What is the problem? Tell me, Carlos. I've known you for a long time already and you couldn't convince me just by doing this. I know something is wrong. Please tell me.", Dina begged. Carlos avoided her eyes because he couldn't endure Dina's lovely eyes, he might give away and wouldn't be able to let her go. 'Did Rico threatened you?", Dina asked. Carlos laughed sarcastically. "Do you honestly think that prick could make me scared? I am Carlos Tan! Are you kidding?!", Carlos replied in a sarcastic tone. "Then please tell me what is wrong?", Dina probed. Carlos was silent for a moment and he cleared his throat before letting out a deep sigh. "Yes, something is wrong, Dina. EVERYTHING. Everything about us is wrong! So please while I am being nice, get away from me and leave me alone. I want to have a peaceful life from now on.", Carlos in a calm and sincere manner as he stared straight into Dina's eyes. Dina couldn't believe what Carlos is saying but he knew him, he couldn't lie and he couldn't stare directly into someone's eyes when he is lying… If he really is indeed hiding something, he wouldn't be able to look directly into her eyes. Carlos wanted to be alone and he really means it. Dina cried. 'You don't want us anymore, Carlos?". Dina asked with tears in her eyes, asking for confirmation. Carlos, still looking directly into her eyes. "Yes. I want both of you out of my life.", Carlos answered. Dina was silent for a moment as she gathered her thoughts and her strength to face this situation with Carlos. This is their biggest argument ever. 'But that not enough reason for you to push us away easily. We had our good times together.", Dina answered sadly. "I know... but I want to start anew. I hope you understand what I mean.", Carlos answered in a now calm tone while still looking straight at Dina. Dina couldn't endure Carlos's eyes, it was enough evidence for him to prove that he is saying the truth. 'There's no one we can run to, Carlos… Rico wouldn't accept us easily---' "He will because you are his wife.", Carlos abruptly answered. "But you know that he doesn't love me---' "You had a son with him. He will accept you because of your son. SO please, don't make things between us became more complicated. I'm really tired, Dina. I hope those years I've spent with you are enough already. I want to spend my time with myself. I want to cherish my self and my dignity, I also want to be happy.", Carlos interrupted with what Dina is about to say. "I thought you were happy to be with us---' "That's what I thought so too.", Carlos as if ending their conversation as he started to get Dina's clothes out of her closet once again but Dina stopped him and instead, she did all the packing by herself now. 'You don't have to push us away like this…you should've told me nicely. You know I am an understanding person, right? I even set my beloved husband free because I understood him that he loved someone else, not me… how much more to my best friend who is willing to sacrifice just to take care of me and my son? If there is only one person who would sincerely wish for your happiness, it would be me, Carlos.", Dina said as she tried her best not to cry in front of Carlos. Carlos became speechless, he seemed to be nailed on his position, slowly looking down as if he was defeated. They became silent for a long moment. "Thank you, Carlos. I appreciate everything you have done to us.", Dina finally broke their silence and hurriedly packed her clothes inside a suitcase, disregarding any details of what she had put inside it. She was hurt, she wanted to cry, and she wanted to run away far from that place as fast as she could. Few minutes had passed already when Dina left but Carlos remained standing in the same position where Dina had left him. Then suddenly, he felt shivers from his hands as he slowly reached over the doorknob but he loses all his strength and his hands fell at the same time that he also fell down on his knees. He was trembling all over his body and he felt really weak… he had been trying his best to control his hands, not to hug Dina… he had been forcing himself not to cry in front of her… and now, she's gone all the pain he tried to hide, he could no longer contain them all. His tears fell from his eyes, which earlier he had kept blind with his happy memories with Dina so that he could stare directly at his beloved's eyes while convincing her with his lie. Now, his eyes also gave in and cried. "Dina! Dina!", Carlos cried as she shouted her name and as if he had a renewed energy, he wanted to run after her and stop her from leaving. He is determined to do it, he couldn't take it if Dina will leave him. He hurriedly ran outside, opened the door, the gate… but Dina is no longer there. She had really left him. Dina, the only woman he had loved his entire life is now gone. "Dina!!!", Carlos yelled as he cried, then his knees gave in again… he fell and sat on the pavement in front of their house. He cried and felt as if there's no energy left anymore. Despite his sadness, he is still thankful because Dina had left him for good already. He thought Dina could move on a lot easier if she is mad at him. For this reason, it somehow eased his burden even though it hurts… it doesn't matter because he is still doing all of these things… for Dina. Carlos bowed his head and he remained in that position for how many hours, he no longer knows. He had become unaware of his surroundings, disregarding the people who walk past him. Others stared at him curiously, others were scared of him, and others even mocked him of his desperate look. Carlos didn't mind all of these things because Dina is gone and for him, life had become useless too… he is indeed ready to die now. Dina is so annoyed, she feels angry because she knows this is not what Carlos really wanted. However, she doesn't understand why Carlos is so determined to hide the root of this problem. So she decided, instead of them fighting each other, Dina thought that it would be better to leave him alone for a moment and confront Rico about what had happened between them. She has a suspicion that Rico is behind Carlos's overacting tantrums, that's why she won't run away from him, she will face him head-on. She remembered the last time they saw each other is that he will sue them both. Dina couldn't just let Rico harass Carlos especially that he is pleasuring himself with different women which she originally thought was happy and faithful to Alice… that's why she gave way for them, right?
