She could still clearly remember the way heading to the Ballestros's residence, but she is still contemplating how to face them now. 'It doesn't matter anymore! He has my son! I must get my son! I am the mother and I will fight for my son!", Dina tried to convince herself before pressing the doorbell. Dina was nervous, she could feel her heart beating fast as she thinks of what Rico might say to her because ever since she went back to this country, and had met him again, she felt intimidated by his presence. She must make herself ready, she could almost count every beat of her heart while she is waiting for the door to open. She won't let him intimidate her because she needs to get her son. This is what she was supposed to do but when the door opened and she saw Rico there… her courage had all vanished away, especially when he stared at her intently as if he was happy to see her. Dina couldn't believe what she is seeing right now. It feels like she had mistaken his emotions as happiness. "Hello Dina.", Rico's tone was gentle. He looks completely different from the last time they saw each other, he was like an angry bull but now… he seemed glad. 'Were you expecting me to come here?", Dina hissed. "I will lie if I told you I didn't.", Rico smiled, a smiled that could melt Dina's heart though she is trying her best not to be affected by his charm. 'Where is my son?!", Dina angrily said in a loud tone. "He is inside… with mom and dad. The oldies were so happy to see their grandchild. You know it was and has been always their dream.", Rico continued to talk to her in a gentle manner. Dina wanted to make a fuss but when she found out her son is with Rico's parents… she calms down. The old couple had long wished to have a grandchild and now Dino is here, how happy could they have been? It will be rude of her if she will immediately get her son away from them. Dina stop and think for a moment, she wanted to get Dino but it seems wrong. "Want to get inside?", Rico initiated. "No.", Dina strongly declined. Rico was surprised at what Dina had answered. He was curious as to what Carlos had told her because she isn't even willing to go inside their house. 'How about Carlos? What did you tell him? What did you do to him?", Dina added. Rico's emotion had shifted when he heard the guy's name and he doesn't seem to be in a good mood anymore. He looks annoyed because Dina seemed to be so worried for that low-life man. Dina had noticed Rico's change of behavior, for this reason, she had concluded that she was right that he did something wrong to Carlos. "What did you do? Did you threatened him?!", Dina hissed again. Rico had become annoyed. "I don't know what you are saying.", Rico answered, trying to keep his cool. Dina was also annoyed because Rico keeps on denying it. 'Return Dino to me! Return him to Carlos and me!", Dina bravely argued. Rico became furious about how Dina is acting, he hates the way she is attaching Carlos's name attached to her or Dino's name. "Dino is also my son and I am not snatching anything away from you and especially to that bastard! In fact, he is the one who stole lots of things away from me! Look, even you… you should be with me and you should be taking my side but look at you now! You are like a soldier ready to fight in a war for being so fierce! You are acting like this just to defend that worthless scum!", Rico angrily answered. 'We just couldn't get along!", Dina hissed. "Yes, we really couldn't! Unless Carlos stops forcing himself in our marriage and would get out of our lives!", Rico hissed back. Dina was stunned, it was unusual for her to hear him say their names along with the words 'marriage" and 'our". She couldn't say anything. 'Carlos is the root cause of our problem---', Rico complained but it made Dina angry. "And let's exempt Alice in our count, huh? That even THAT night I gave myself to you, I caught you talking with her on your cellphone at 4 am! And even despite you did THAT THING to me again and again then…", Dina blushed as she puts emphasis on the words THAT THING which she pertained on Rico making love to her… she felt embarrassed remembering that moment at the same time she also remembered how broken she was that time too. Rico also blushed when he realized what Dina was talking about. 'Then…?", Rico trying to persuade Dina to continue her words. He could feel his heart beating fast because of the memory both of them had shared together as a couple and he wanted to know what could it be that bothers Dina so much to the point that she left him, mistakenly believing he is still in love with Alice even up to this day. "And despite that... to that woman, you said… to her…", Dina is having difficulty in explaining because she felt really embarrassed. But Rico patiently waited because he really wants to know what Dina is trying to say. "That night when THAT happened to us, you told her that she is the only woman you had ever loved. You want me to say the exact words that you had told her? You know I could never say no to you. You know that. I love you, Alice… even before up to now. You are the only woman I have loved… When I heard those words from your mouth. I was disgusted! I was instantly shattered into pieces! Your words kept on haunting me! Look! It keeps on replaying on my mind to the point that I have memorized it already! I really felt insulted and I never thought you were like that at all---", Dina said angrily and because she could no longer contain her emotion while remembering the past, she didn't notice that she was already crying because of the pain in her heart. Rico instinctively hugged Dina, it was what his heart dictated him to do and his body willingly followed. Dina was surprised for a moment but she immediately fought to free from his embrace. To her dismay, Rico is a lot stronger and within a few tries of freeing herself, she gave up. She let him wrap her around his strong arms and warm embrace. They had been in this position for a long time. They were silent as if just feeling their moment together. 'I am not like that, Dina. You should've known that better.", Rico broke their silence. 'If I just knew about this then I would've explained everything to you clearly.", Rico added. Dina wondered. 'Next time… if you eavesdrop, make sure to listen to the whole conversation, okay? Do you want me to tell you the rest of the conversation you heard that night?", Rico sounded so sweet towards her. Dina couldn't believe what Rico is saying and just stared at his face. Rico seemed to be really happy with what she told him today but Rico's handsome face still couldn't ease her pain. "You know I could never say no to you. You know that. I love you, Alice… even before up to now. You are the only woman I have loved…it's what I have made myself believed ever since you left me and I thought it would still be until I grow old but it changes. I couldn't convince myself about this anymore because even my heart tells me who I really love now… it's Dina. She's the one I truly love. Yes, Alice… I am sorry but I am really madly in love with my wife", Rico said. Dina's eyes widened in surprise at what she heard. She was not expecting this is how the whole conversation between him and Alice that night had been.
