Chapter 14: It's Mine, Isn't it?

Vale scrunched her eyebrows. Why does it feel like someone was staring at her? Feeling disturbed, she rolled over and continue to sleep. However, the feeling of someone's staring at her came back. Annoyed, she opened her eyes and glared at the ‘thing' who disturbed her sleep. Nope. It's not a thing. It's a person. Keith grinned when he saw her fierce gaze. "It's almost noon. Are you planning to sleep all day?" Vale grumbled before she sat up while holding her belly. Her actions didn't go unnoticed by the person in the room. He immediately went into action and helped her to lean on the headboard. His eyes were shooting arrows to her growing belly. "What are you doing here?" Vale wiped the sweat of perspiration on her forehead. However, she was caught off guard when the man lifted her oversized T-shirt, showing her bulging belly. She had forgotten to hide her pregnancy from him! Thinking about it now, she regretted wearing the oversized T-shirt instead of her pyjama. "You...what are you doing?!" Vale tried to push his hands away but failed. His hands already landed on her belly. The warmth on his hands travelled to her body, causing her cheeks to flush. "It's mine, isn't it?" he ran his finger gently on her protruding belly. Vale gritted her teeth as she pushed his hands away and pulled her T-shirt down. "I didn't expect you to be so shameless as to claim someone else's baby as yours." Vale sneered. Keith gritted his teeth, "Mn. I'm shameless. Because I know this baby is mine." "No. This baby is mine. Sherry is already pregnant with your baby. Why are you bothering mine?" Vale moves to the other side of the bed and stands up. "What?" Keith was stunned. Vale didn't answer him as she wobbles to the bathroom. When she remembered the events a few weeks ago, her eyes went cold. However, her body soars into the air, and her face immediately went pale. Her arms flailed as she grabbed the tall objects beside her. Closing her eyes, she waited for the impact of the fall. Nothing. Opening her eyes, she was shocked when she saw the enlarged face of the man in front of her. Glancing down, she realized that he had scooped her up, and she had looped her arms around his neck tightly. Seeing her panic-stricken face, Keith felt guilty. When he saw her wobbling towards the bathroom, he immediately went anxious and ran over to scoop her up. He walks towards the bathroom with the woman in his arms and put her down after they got inside. Vale look at the man who was leaning on the door with displeasure all over her face, "Why are you still here?" "Oh." Keith turns around and leave. Vale closed the bathroom door loudly before locking it. After cleaning herself up, she went out of the bathroom and was greeted with a surprise. Keith was waiting for her with a trolley of food beside her bed. Why hasn't he disappear? "Why are you still here? You're awake. Why don't you go back and manage your work?" Keith felt a tug on his heart. Did she despise his presence so much? "It's alright. Dylan and the rest can manage it for now. I prepared porridge for you." Keith lifted the bowl of porridge on the trolley. Vale looked at the porridge warily. Keith notices her cautious look, and he felt like a thousand needles were stabbing his heart. She thought that he would poison her? "Go back. Sherry and your parent must be worried about you right now." Although Vale felt hungry and salivated at the sight of the porridge, her paranoid win her over. "If I care about her, I would have married her long ago. If I truly love her, I would be long gone the moment I wake up. Why can't you understand that?" Keith gritted her teeth. Vale snorted, "Why would I bother? You can't understand me. What makes you think I can understand you?" "Valentina Rodriguez!" Keith roared. Vale flinched and immediately distanced herself away from him. Keith put the porridge back on the trolley before walking towards her. Vale arms instinctively went to her belly as she steps away from him with her head lowered. "Stop there!" Vale stopped and closed her eyes for the impact of his slap. Moments later, she felt a pair of arm circling her waist. Opening her eyes, she was startled when she saw his wet cheeks. Lifting her eyes further, the pain and grief on his eyes were frightening. She gulped, "You...why are you crying?" her voice softens. However, she didn't receive any response as the man leaned in and enclosed his lips with hers. Vale's eyes widen in shock, and she forgot to react. The man finally let go when she felt like her breath would leave her any second from now. "I'm sorry...I never meant any of my words before. Maybe its too late for me to say this but I really didn't mean to say those words to you. My heart hurt whenever I recalled what I've said." Vale sneered, "I don't believe that you will lick back the saliva you've spat on the ground." Her words slapped Keith hard. Indeed, who would believe that a high and mighty person like him would stoop so low to eat his own words? "I'm willing to do it if you want me to." Vale was shocked when she heard his words. He...he actually said that? "It's too late. It would be best if you didn't do anything at all. I don't care. Now, let me go." Vale tries to push him away. Keith let her go with a dejected look on his face. He stepped back and wiped his tears on his sleeves as he staggered towards the door. Vale watch as he closed the door behind him without looking back. Her heart was overjoyed, seeing his pained look and a small part of her felt guilty for her next move.
