Chapter 26: Wife

"They did what?!" Keith's face turns dark. "It's fine. I killed Mia, and Kayden wouldn't last long either." "What about their parents?" "Mia's mother died after she gave birth to her and her father is a dirty businessman. He wanted Mia to marry Kayden to have a share of his company." Vale pursed her lips. "The doctor said that there was a slim chance for Kayden's mother to give birth. So, they adopted a son to inherit their business. He's living in America now. If they can't found Kayden at the end of this month, his parent would call their adopted son back to take over their business." Keith looks at Vale in admiration. She had become more and more knowledgable. It was like she had everyone's background information at the back of her hand. "Wife...you're so admirable..." Keith muttered. Vale saw the hooked looks he's giving her and thought back of the past. If she had admitted everything, then, would he be as calm as he is today? "When are you going to call them back? It's been too long since I saw them and my limbs had been itching to move." Vale pondered for a moment. Two months ago, she had destroyed the Black Rose and Black River gang in one fell swoop. It took her one week to destroy them completely. One-third of them died, and the rest were injured. Some of them who were unwilling to surrender had been thrown into prison. Others who were scared out of their wits pledged loyalty to her. Lint River didn't make it out of his house and died in the fire. But, Sherry managed to escape the chaos. Eric Grey, on the other hand, was locked up in her electric cell. She hesitated whenever she wanted to kill him. Looking at him made Vale thought of a certain someone. The last person she wanted to hurt was Keith. But...his mother's words made her wavered, and doubt appeared on her heart. She didn't believe him when he asked her to sign the termination contract and move out of the house. He was the one who blackmailed her into becoming his assassin. When she runs away from his home, he was the one who coaxed her to go back. When she was lying in the emergency room at his house, he was the one sitting at the chair beside her bed. He brought her to his parent's home. He was the one who treated her injuries when the bullet scraped her shoulder. He was the one who helped her when she was drugged. He shows up at her cousin's wedding to support her. He came to her parent's house and said that he wanted to marry her. It doesn't make sense when he suddenly asked her to move out of his house. Either he can't stand that she didn't tell him about her gang or someone threatened him. No one can suppress him except his father. The marriage between Sherry and Keith was Eric's idea. Eric must've threatened him with something. She felt suspicious when there was no news about Keith and Sherry getting married. There was no marriage certificate forged. She didn't hear anything about him for six months. He never went out of his house. The guys were the one who settled everything for him. As for what happened inside his house, Vale had no idea. "Sherry is pregnant with your baby." Keith raised an eyebrow, "You believe it?" "Otherwise?" Vale glared at him. "How did you know she was pregnant?" "She told me the day she kidnapped me." "I've never stepped out of the house after you moved out and she never stepped inside either. How did she become pregnant all of a sudden?" Keith sneered. Vale was startled, "You really did forbid her from entering your house." Keith caressed her cheek gently and drunk in her appearance as much as he could. Grasping his hand tightly, Vale looked at him with nervously. "Keith, what actually happened six months ago?" Keith's eyes flickered for a second, "I'm sorry. What I said that day...I don't mean it." "The arranged marriage was your father's idea, isn't it? And he was the one who threatened you." Keith sighed and nodded. "He threatened to kill me, right?" she looks at him anxiously. Keith stiffened before he nodded. "Why did you agree with him?" Vale becomes more agitated. Keith knew that the more she learned, the more she became agitated. "I'll tell you somedays later. For now, don't think too much. You will affect the baby." Vale saw how stubborn he was and know that he won't say anything even if she pushed him now. She nodded solemnly and leaned on him. "After the baby is born, let's get married." Keith hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead. Vale's heart thumped. Did he just propose to her? "What?" Vale lifted her head in shock. "Let's get married." "But, I'm not ready to get married yet!" Vale squeaked in panic. She looked at her chubby hands and touched her slightly bulging cheeks. Tears seeped out from her eyes, "Noo! I've become fat and won't be able to wear those beautiful gowns...boohoo..." Keith laughs out loud, watching her antics. Vale pinched his waist, "Oh, you're laughing at me now that I've become fat, huh? Let's see if you would still laugh when you met my family this weekend!" "Ow! Ow! It hurts! It hurts!" Keith struggled to dodge her attacks and stood up, laughing.
