CHAPTER23

"Do you at least know when she'll be up?" I heard a familiar cold voice ask as I slowly drift into consciousness "I can't say for sure, it's up to her" I'm guessing the doctor replied I felt pain as I woke up and a wave of deja vu passed me as I opened an eye to survey the room, plain walls and beds but the only difference was that it was a little bit comforting. There, I found my friends passed out with Ryan and oh Lexis talking to the doctor With all my effort, I managed to open my eyes but I shut it back immediately due to the brightness. I tried to sit up but I couldn't due to the pain on my head. Using my hands to feel the bandage wrapped around my head I winced from pain, causing all eyes on me, even my friends who were just asleep. "Am I in heaven?" I croaked "No am in hell, you're here" I answered myself looking at Lexis "Oh I can imagine" He rolled his eyes "Very immature man, very immature" Ryan joked hitting his back lightly "Por qué diablos me asustaste así? Melia cried, hitting me "Whoa cool your horses' woman, she just woke up" Brooke scolded her "You don't need to go all Spanish on us" Carter joked "No biggie. She just said why the heck did you scare me like that" he answered for us as we all stare at him dumbfoundedly except Ryan of course "He learned Spanish in high school" Ryan answered our thoughts "Show off" I shrugged "Okay, now that you're up, we are going to take a shower and we will be back immediately Okay?" Carter said pushing my friends out even Ryan not before giving me a kiss on my forehead, leaving Lexis and I "So" he mumbled "What about my parents, do they know I'm in the hospital" I asked silently praying he didn't tell them than answering my question to why they hadn't come to see me He shrugged "Uh yes I called them but they seemed rather unfazed" A little pang filled my chest. "Yeah Aiden and or whatever told me what happened. He's the one that called actually" he rushed in an attempt to change the subject "Well, that sounds very good. See I told you he wasn't a bad guy" I chirped in "He's an okay guy. I really don't care" he dismissed "Where is he?" "He was here on your first two days" "Whoa, how many days have I been here for?" I asked "Just four" he shrugged "Four? What about the party?" "How do you expect it to hold without you and besides it's a fake engagement party so who cares?" "Well I care, I worked hard for that shit" "Next time you tell yourself that before you run into a pole" he retorted So annoying. .......... "It's been three days since I woke up, I think I have the right to decide if I want to stay or go" I complained "You are not fit to go yet" The past three days have been bearable. Lexis and I talked a lot probably because we were alone most of the time. "Come on, why do you have to be such a terrible fiancé" I pouted. "I'm not even going to continue this topic because I know what it will lead to" he rose his hand. "Fine" "Great" he smiled as we fell into a comfortable silence. "Thank you" I finally said. "For what?" "For taking care of me and keeping me company ah and showing me that you actually have a heart" "I do have a heart, you're just too stupid to realize that" he chuckles as I flip him off "Well I don't think so" I teased. "What's the deal with you and Nate?" He asked and I tensed but before I could do anything the door opened revealing the doctor "Good day, well it seems here that Lorraine might be ready to go home, after all, you just have to take her meds accurately and don't stress" he smiled "Easy for you to say doc" I chuckled lightly "Hey I mean it and you, be a good fiancé and take care of her" he pointed to Lexis "Yeah I guess I will" he says leaving me as shocked as ever. "Close your mouth princess" lexis laughed as I hawked at him. "Okay, then that will be all. Take care" he says leaving. "Well then let's go home!!" I hoot. I really can't believe I just said that.
