CHAPTER28

If I ever said I have had better nights than last night I would be lying. My nights have never been as peaceful as last night. In fact, I would say, that was the best sleep I've had since Leon went missing and for some reason, I don't know why. I stir awake, gaining awareness of my environment. The warmth of my bed comforting me, causing me to moan silently. Wait. My bed doesn't smell like it just came out of a Giorgio Armani store, neither is it grey. Still not fully awake, I survey my surroundings to see where the hell I am exactly. Okay, no pictures in the room, no clothes on the floor, no litter, no dirty magazine, no stuffed animal, too neat. No, it can't be Carter's room but it does look very familiar. Turning to my side, I came face to face with a very amused Lexis watching me. Then everything from last night came back to me like a speed of lightning "I thought you'd never turn" he chuckled "Uh, so you just kept on watching me like a perv?" I scoff. Such audacity. "I'm a perv for pretty girls" He deadpanned and I won't lie, there was a part of me that felt hurt. "Well I think you're just a perv for your species, the ugly ones" I shrugged, feigning hurt. "Aw, that hurt" he teased. "Good, I was aiming at telling you the truth, sooner or later" I grin "Well to tell you the truth, I kind of started watching you when you moaned in your sleep. I almost thought you were having a wet dream" and ladies and gentlemen, that was all it took for me to blush like an utter fool. "Shut up" I hold my cheeks in an attempt to control myself. Lexis noticing this burst out in laughter, clearly finding joy in me. "I'm out of here" I announced "Begone" he replied childishly That reminds me "I can't wait to tell the rest what I saw last night" I laugh to myself. Instantly, the roles changed. Lexis was now the embarrassed one and oh my, his face was just... "Don't mind me, I'm kidding" I lie blatantly.  Why would I miss a great opportunity to get revenge on stupid lexis? "You better be" he released his breath, not at all noticing my lie. "Sure bro" I skipped to the door "Lorraine?" He called out in his deep, soothing voice. What is wrong with me? "Yup" I answer, placing emphasis on the p "Not one word to anyone" he warns. This guy doesn't at all know who his dealing with. "Mkay" I press my lips together before exiting the room As if. ***** Feeling super excited about telling the rest about what happened last night as make my way to the girl's apartment. They are so going to flip! Odd. No one was around and it was just one pm. And really, those guys are LAZY! "I might as well just treat myself before they come back" I spoke quietly to myself. Searching for something to take, I see the love of my life just standing there ugh! Cookies and cream ice cream and it's full!!. My God, they really do love me. Grabbing it, I got a spoon and walked towards Melia's room to binge watch Brooklyn nine-nine (Yes I'm in love with it!) As I got closer to the room, I began to hear voices coming from inside. Not ready to take any chance, I carry the nearest lamp (I know, not very wise) alongside my ice cream. Actually, I hold on to my ice cream more than the lamp. As I neared the room, I was beginning to feel like it was Melia in it but I shoved that thought aside as I opened it wide, ready to launch it when I saw the most shocking thing in my existence, making me drop the lamp. Not the ice cream, of course, someone has to keep it safe. The sight in front of me gave me happiness and also made questions to be stirred up in me. Here I was in front of my two best friends going full-on lip lock. I mean, who would have thought. "Whoa whoa. I can't believe this, I can't, can't" I chant Melia, in shock and embarrassment, covers her face, moving as far away from Carter as possible. "Tada, I love Melia. There you go" and trust me, that confession brought joy to my heart and from the looks of it, Melia too. "You do?" Melia asks, clearly surprised "Yes I do" Carter grins like a child, something very new of him. "Okay, we get it, someone is standing here guys and I need answers. NOW" I terminate their growing conversation. "Well, what can I say, I'm also surprised. But, it is what it is". "Wait, when did this start" I inquired. Melia, still unable to control herself from blushing groaned "Oh God, Lorrie we will talk about this later" "Okay fine. But both of you are giving me details" I point at them for emphasis. Melia groans while Carter just laughs, remaining unfazed. "Oh, I can't wait to tell Brooke this" I pip up "Lorra-" "She's so going to flip" I interrupt "She-" "She's going to super excited too" I dance around once again, interrupting them. "Ooh, who's excited too?" Brooke walks in upon hearing my voice. "Melia and Carter were just doing some dirty" I squeal She just laughed and shrugged "What? I thought you are going to be excited too" I pout "Oh I was when I caught them red-handed" she shrugged again I gasp "You knew?" "Oh great, and we forgot to tell you that" Melia answered sarcastically. Oh, I guess that was what she was trying to tell me. I flipped her off "You caught them too?" I nodded "Sheesh guys, keep your goodies we're they belong. Y'all ever heard the meaning of being coded?" Brooke walked to the bed. "Y'all ever heard the meaning of privacy" Carter retorted "Uh excuse you, I thought you were both burglars. Don't worry, if I ever see one, I will just act like it was nothing" I said with a straight face. "Why are you even here" Melia asked. Don't worry, it wasn't offensive but I had to make her feel bad. "And what is that supposed to mean? That I can't come to see my friends once in a while to hang out?" "No" "Nope" "You're just too lazy" Brooke, Melia and Carter said "Word I am lazy, but that's not it. I just wanted to tell you guys that I saw Lexis's butt. Like he was stack naked" I burst out in laughter with Carter, Amelia and Brooke remained normal. I don't know why but I couldn't contain the laughter. Carter's sense of humor is just... "And?" Brooke said as if expecting more "And well, I slept with him. No, not your definition Carter" I quickly hushed him before he could speak "We slept on the same bed and I slept really good" I finished Now it was time for Brooke and Melia to scream. After they calmed down, Brooke laughed "You know I already knew that, Ryan's kind of a big mouth" she stated. "He wasn't even there" "I guess Lexis told him" "I will kill both of them I swear. Well bye, I don't want to stay too long unless I won't want to go back home" "She said home" Brooke and Melia gushed like children "Bye Carter, if you happen to see our friends, tell them I say bye" and with that, I left. ***** "Why would you even tell Ryan" I yelled at Lexis whilst hitting him "Oh because I knew that, he would tell Brooke and it will ruin your whole surprise thing. Unfortunately, she didn't get to Carter and Brooke on time I'm sure" Jerk "Of course she didn't. I still have Aiden to tell" I grin "Uh, no you don't, perks of having a big mouth for a best friend" he placed his hands at the back of his head I flipped him off and he chuckled After some minutes of silence, Lexis spoke "You know yesterday was her birthday and she always wanted to go to travel all over the world. Weirdo" he chuckles silently I'm not good at giving comfort but yet again, I did the only thing I could do. Being there for him. "Oh, I'm fine thanks" he assured me but I took it as a lie We sat in a comfortable silence until he said those five words that made me freeze "I know about your brother" Suddenly, the air was too tight for me then Lexis moved to sit close to me, placing his hands around mine. "You don't always have to talk about it. We have time" he whispered gently and for a moment there, I thought something in me moved. "Yes, we do" I agreed. I inched closer into him, placing my leg on the seat as he played with my hair until I fell asleep with a smile etched on my face. What? I love sleeping. And also, for some reason, I felt very safe in his arms.
