CHAPTER34
"Look I didn't intend for you to find out this wa-"
"Now what way did you want me to find out. Oh, you wanted me to find out when you have already left or what? "
He ran his hands through his wet hair in frustration "It was a spur of the moment thing. I wasn't planning on leaving so soon but I just have to. For my safety and most especially yours" he pleaded.
"My safety? If this is for my safety then tell me what's going on" I shouted.
He shook his head "I- can't. I ju- I can't"
I scoffed. I can't believe this guy "So what you were planning on just leaving everyone and everything just because of some unexplained reason?"
"I didn't choose this. I was going to eventually tell you but now you're making it difficult " He fired back.
"You got to be kidding me" I gasped, took my belongings and walked out as he kept on following me back to the house
"Lorraine wa-" I interrupted him by slamming the door in his face.
"Whoa, what's with the look feisty?" Ryan asked as I stormed into the kitchen.
"You okay there Princess?" Lexis asks as all my friends looked at me in worry.
I was just about to shout about how angry I was when Aiden came in pleading "Look, Lorrie, I know you deserve an explanation but right now, there isn't and I'm sorry I can't provide one"
"Whoa, okay what the heck is going on here," Lexis asked.
"Tell them Aiden, tell them how you're planning on leaving for good without informing anyone. Tell them." I shouted.
"What do you mean you're leaving for good?" Brooke spoke for the rest of them.
He sighed "I'm leaving for Toronto in two days and I'm not returning at all" he mumbled.
A series of whoa and surprised faces filled the room.
"Honestly, I can't believe you. I was starting to enjoy our friendship but I don't think it meant anything to you." I glared at him before walking away.
Honestly, I don't know what prompted me to act that way because I wasn't one to lash out like that.
I flopped down on my bed and let sleep fill me.
****
After a short nap to ease the anger, I sat up and faced the window when I heard a knock.
Assuming it was Aiden, I answered "Just leave"
"Not intending on doing so" Lexis chuckled, opening the door.
"You really are something you know." he said as he walked into the room.
"I know that I acted way overboard. It's just-"
"No, you didn't, you were just sad because he's your friend I get it. But ah, I can't believe I'm saying this but I think you should listen to Aiden and just trust him. If he says it's for your safety, let it be. He'll never do anything to hurt you that's for sure" he said, placing a hand in mine causing goosebumps up my skin.
"I can't believe it; you're taking Aiden's side and for once you didn't call him Adrian " I laughed lightly. "But I get it, I guess it was just because it dropped on me so suddenly"
"Well, according to what he said, you were snooping" He smirked.
"In my defense, I wouldn't have known he was leaving if I didn't snoop" I shrugged then we laughed.
His phone buzzed and he paused to see what it was about and immediately he did, his expression changed.
"I have to go" he spoke curtly.
"Where?" I asked.
"Eri-my dad. He wants to see me" He responded.
That can't be good "Bye" he nodded then left.
I just hope Lexis will be fine. I mean he has been doing fine when he wasn't communicating with Eriel.
My thoughts were interrupted by the knock on my door. I turned to see Aiden standing sheepishly and I instantly felt bad, I might have overreacted.
"Am I allowed or are you going to kill me?" He asked cautiously.
"Ha-ha funny" I replied, beckoning him to come in.
"I think I owe you an apology" I smile sadly "I might have been a tad over the top with the whole issue. I guess it was my way of expressing how much I was going to miss you and I was just hung over the fact that I was losing yet another person-"
"Hold up, you aren't losing me at all. I'm one phone call away and of course one ticket away" He stopped me.
"Oh I feel terrible" I buried my head in my hands causing him to chuckle as we descend the stairs.
"Here comes the drama queen" Carter announced as soon as he spotted us.
"Give her a break, you aren't any better" Melia scolded him and he stuck out his tongue at her.
"Excuse me for acting out because I'm going to miss my friend" I reprimanded.
"Yo did you guys happen to see Lexis anywhere?" Ryan asked food in his mouth.
"Gross Ry ever heard of table manners?" I gagged "And yes actually, he went off to see Eriel" I completed.
"That can't be good" Brooke announced and we all nodded in agreement.
"Speaking of Lexis, what's the deal with you two lovebirds. We can't help but notice the sexual tension radiating from you two lately. So what's the hunch?" Carter asked, seemingly interested.
All words vanished from my mouth as it became dry. I couldn't even form words to begin with and I knew they caught my act.
"A-ah-a I- I don't know what you're talking about. There's no such thing" I deny which was not believed by my friends.
This one time they decided not to be gullible... Ugh!
Aiden's phone buzzed and he signaled us to be excused.
"I know my best friend and I speak for him when I say, he's so into you he just has a hard time when it comes to girls. He hardly dates" Ryan chimed in.
"Hm, I always pictured Lexis as the player type" Brooke speaks.
"He gets that a lot and besides, he's too much of a soft guy to be that kind of person. Just don't tell him I said that."
"Let's just say, I kind of do like him" I smiled sheepishly. Ugh, that felt good to say.
"Called it" They all shouted.
Aiden came back with a smile etched on his face "Uh guys what would you say if I told you that I got you all tickets to Toronto for the weekend?"
A smile formed its place on my lips "I would say who are you and what have you done to my stalker Aiden"
*****
After the whole Canada thing, Brooke and Melia literally ran to their cars to go back their bags while the boys just laughed at them.
I was at a loss of what to do and Ryan wasn't helping matters so I began packing in which I ended up making way more than I was meant to.
After unpacking and repacking, I decided to make myself some coffee to ease my nerves and of course for Ryan who refused to go home.
I wonder what was taking Lexis so long though. Usually, he gets back after an hour mostly because they both can't stand each other.
As that thought came in, the front door burst open to a raging and frantic Lexis who stormed up to his room, leaving Ryan and I in confusion.
Ryan then nudged me to go check up on him but I refused.
"Just because I said I like him doesn't mean I volunteer to be the scapegoat uh" I declined.
"Yes, just because you like him means that you have to tame the man-beast" Ryan compelled.
"Fine. But he's supposed to be your best friend" I grumbled while ascending the stairs.
I reached his door and gave it a light knock which he didn't seem to hear. "Oh fuck it" I opened the door wide ready to warn him not to shout at me when I saw a glass cup fly over my head hitting the wall outside.
"Shit I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hurt you I-I" he rushed to my side running his hands through his neck as I tried to maintain my breathing pace.
"I know I know it's fine," I told him. It really was fine I don't think I could stay angry at him. Well, except it actually landed on me.
"No, it's not. For God's sake, I almost sent a glass cup flying towards your face"
"On the bright side. It almost hit me so it didn't hit me. Got that? Now why don't you tell me the reason you stormed into the house like some crazy animal"
He took a seat beside me on the bed, sighed then muttered "Fucking Eriel"
"I am not his fucking son" he fumes.
Oh.
"Wow um, did he tell you this or?" I asked
He then faced me "Do you want to know the worst part? I know he isn't my father but he still denied it"
Uh-oh...
