CHAPTER 86
'No."
I had had it.
I had enough of everything life threw at me.
'Jevan is your son, so I wouldn't deprive you from being a father to him. You can fly to LA whenever you want to see him.
As he grows up, he will travel to see you and spend summers and Christmases with you."
'Jasmine, I can't be travelling back and forth every time I want to see him, plus I have a company to run and..."
I didn't let him finish.
'Then go Evan! And don't come back!"
Tears fell down his face and that was the first time I saw Evan Hollen cried.
Mr. CEO
Mr. Hollen Tower
Mr. World's strictest boss
'Where's my son?" I asked him.
'He's with my brother."
EJ is here too?
'So your mind is made up Jasmine? You're not going to give us one more chance?"
'Did you give me one more chance when I begged you for it Evan?"
'Okay. I'll fly here whenever I could to spend time with my son. I wish you all the best in life Jasmine. Just know that I'll always love you."
He planted a kiss on my forehead and walked out the room. Jevan was placed in a small crib next to me until I was discharged from the hospital three days later.

My world was finally at peace. Evan came whenever he could to spend time with his son and every time he came by, he tried to talk me into moving back to Brooklyn and starting over with him but I wasn't hearing it. Every day, Jevan looked more and more like him too so I was constantly reminded about Evan and everything we had before.
Aria was sentenced to life in prison along with her ex-boyfriend Michael. I had Evan to thank for saving my life and was because of him, Aria was finally where she belongs. Behind bars.
Who's the monkey now?
Zenia and mom still resided in the penthouse but always promised to come visit Jevan and I. I know they would soon.
Emma, Emily, EJ and Ethan always kept in touch with me. They also promised to visit soon. The distance was killing the bond between us.
I found another job as a secretary in a lawyer firm. It was nothing like being Evan's assistant but it was still a great job.
Jevan was placed in a day-care whenever I had to work. He was such a wonderful child with the personality of an angel. We got a new apartment with much better security. I didn't want to be reminded of Aria having a gun to my child's head so I moved us.
All in All, I was finally finding myself for once and life had favoured me.
I had settled the past, engaged in the present and I was looking forward to what else life has in store for Jevan and myself.
It was April 10th. Three more days to his first birthday and she was already planning a huge surprise for him.
His tiny heart desired one thing and one thing only. His mother knew just what that was and she was going to give it to him on his very first birthday.
The following day, she had set out and prepared for her gift to him and to herself as well. She had sent in her resignation letter to the the lawyer firm she had worked at for six months and booked a flight to Brooklyn, New York.
At six in the pm, they had already landed and were making their way to their home.
Although there were strict guards at the huge familiar gate, they were let in without hesitation and clarifications. After all, the little one with her was the heir to everything around them.
She stepped out the taxi with her son in her arms. She took a deep breath, inhaling and absorbing the fresh surroundings around her. She walked up to the main entrance double doors and pushed it open.
The house was quiet. She knew he wasn't at home, that he was still at the office but she decided to wait and surprise him.
He would not be expecting this.
The maids eventually greeted her and acknowledged her presence in the house. The chefs provided them with meals. The two, who travelled almost three thousand miles, eventually became exhausted and jet lag. They snuggled up on the large L shape couch, newly purchased, and looked at cartoons but eventually fell into a comfortable sleep.
He had just arrived home from the office. He parked his car into his storage garage and strolled up to the doors in front of him. He loosened his neck tie and held onto his briefcase as he pushed into the door and walked towards the living room.
Without even noticing the two sleeping figures on his couch in the living room, he walked pass them and went to the stairs.
He stopped when he saw the television in the living room was on and an animated movie was showing.
His maids didn't look at television nor the chefs. So who could have been in his house looking at cartoons on his eighty inch smart flat screen television?
His feet took him over to the living room and that was when his heart raced around with happiness in his chest. He was speechless. He was definitely not expecting to see them back in his house.
He had already made plans to fly out to LA to spend time with his son on his first birthday. But instead, they were already back and in his house.
'Jasmine," he said softly. He picked his sleeping son up and shook Jasmine's arm gently.
