Chapter21.

Rina walks into the kitchen "Someone was here with you".  She says holding a strong conviction that Fedrick was not alone. Fedrick had no option but to play the innocent card with her, he lied but she thought otherwise and was gradually walking towards the storage room. "Rina! Baby?" He dragged her back the moment he saw me peeking through. "What the heck are you doing?" She angrily shoved him away being suspicious. "What? Don't give me that look and besides, I want to say, I forgive you for everything, even though you lied to me, yet I still love you, baby". He said hoping it throws her off my trail. "Aww! Isn't that romantic" she dances to the same music Fedrick weaved in her head "yes" he happily answered her. Rina understood and pushed him, "I know Sophia is in here with you!! Do I look stupid? She exposed. "What are you saying? Why would Sophia, be in here with me" He laughed nervously. She looks around, "bestie, I know you're in here, it's fine if you don't want to come out but no worries, just know that Fredrick's blood will be in your hands if, at the count of five, you don't come out," She pulls out a gun hoping to see me run out. "Now do you believe me, when I tell you that Sophia isn't here" Fredrick replied after nothing happened. Rina smiles and points it at again. . Fredrick gets stunned, "baby!! Calm down, and let's not do something we might regret" He withdrew a little. "Really? Do you think I am a fool, huh!!". She jerks up the gun in front of him. Fredrick feared for his life. "No please, of cause you're not but how many times will I tell you that no one is here!!! I was only trying to prepare a nice meal for you, there why I locked the kitchen door". He lied. As foolish as that might sound to your ears, and also hard to believe, apparently Rina did and tossed the gun over to him. "Pheww". Sweats drip on his face as he lets go of a deep whiff. Rina left after blackmailing him. She swore to send him to jail if he dare to act smart. I waited for a while, until her feet faded away, before leaving the storage room. He turns to me, " look, Sophia! I am truly sorry for what happened and for not being able to know Rina's true color and I do know that I am nothing but a selfish bastard," He admitted in an emotional state Although Fredrick was all that, I believed there was bigger fish to fry than his sappy story of forgiveness. I left without altering a single word. The same day after getting dressed for bed, something asked me to check my father's property papers. I opened the drawer and found out it was empty. How in the world would it disappear. I ransacked my room, yet no sign of the document. I clearly remembered making a promise to father that I wouldn't let anything happen to it. who would have gotten into my room and taken them without my knowledge? My intellect thought of who might have been behind it, but I felt it was just a baseless accusation. "Looking for this sweetheart?". Rina sags the documents in front of me and truly I had every right to indict her because she's not only a hypocrite but for a thief as well. "You fucking crook!! How the heck did you get that?" I asked agitated by her presence. "I collected it from your ex-husband, he was more than generous to hand Ricardo's properties over to me". She lets out after Fedrick walks into the room. He couldn't even face me. I knew he was going to end up doing something stupid. "Rina, Give me those documents and I swear to God, if you refused to, I'll end up killing you today". I took a step further to her but Fredrick pulls me back, "I am sorry" he saddened his eyes. Rina took notice of the odd conversation we both had. "Okay, enough of that, it's making me sick". She says. I raised an eyebrow and answered, "really!! Says someone who's the lunatic here and now I want you to hand those documents to me". I wanted to go after her however Fredrick stepped between and stopped me again. She winked and walked out of the room with them. The second her feet faded away, I turned to him "what are you doing? Are you seriously going to watch Rina take possession of everything Father owns?". "Sophia, as much as I don't want to, I had no choice but to do what I have to save my family!  There's no stopping her and before you say anything, I need you to please save my brother, from her". He looked serious. "Wait! What did you just say, how the hell did Chris get into the picture! I thought went to work?". I said "That's what we all thought, but my little brother thought it wise to run some investigation about Rina and unfortunately she found out and now Chris is missing". Fredrick told. I can't believe he would risk his very own life to save us. (Inaudible conversation) The following morning, Rina strolls over to the police station and paid a visit to father, in the early hours of the day. "Hello Ricardo, good morning." She smiles evilly at him. Father got anxious seeing her there and he knew nothing good would result in her visiting. "Why are you here?" He asked in a distant attitude and viewed as she brings to his knowledge of the property papers being in her custody. "Why are you asking me, I came here to bring news, you might not like it". She adds "What! I don't understand?" He says in return. "You will" Rina smiles while bringing out the documents from her handbag (Continues talking) "Here with me Ricardo is the property papers of Rick's entire fortune,   transferred by Fredrick to me, under my name, and please don't even think of asking me to stop because, I swear that, I will make yours and your family's life a living nightmare and whoever tries to get in my way, isn't going to make it out alive". She smiled at him. (Evil eyes)
