Sixteen years old.
When my grandparents told me that I'd be moving into a private school, I was excited. Ecclesias Private School was known to be the best school in Britain. I was ready to join their art course because I heard great things about it.
"Have fun!" Grandmother kissed me on the top of my head. I walked away from her and waved goodbye. The building is an old building from the 1800s, but once I got inside, they renovated it beautifully. The interior was full of wood and black marble.
All the students that enroll here are elites. They're the sons and daughters of the riches people in Britain.
My feet stopped right in front of the mirror to check my uniform. Ecclesias' blazer is dark red, a short black skirt and a white shirt underneath my blazer. I let my straight hair down because I don't want to have people's attention on me.
I took my schedule out of my bag and searched for my class. My eyes scanned the room, admiring how beautiful the interior is it. Suddenly, I bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry." I apologized without looking, and I walked past the person. "Are you new here?" I was stopped by the elbow, forcing me to look at the person I bumped. I looked up to see a tall, handsome blonde hair boy. He's lean like he plays some sports.
"I am," I said shyly.
"What's your name?" His friend beside him asked as he looked at me from head to toe. "I'm Luna Morris. How about you?"
"Clement Bandini and this is Edric Morgan." The blonde hair boy is Clement, and the brunette boy is Edric. "You're one. What year?"
"Year 11, how about you two?
"We're year 12. It's nice meeting you," Clement said as he put his hand out for me to shake it. I smiled widely and took it. "Since you're new, let me show you around the school." He offered, and I checked the time to see that I still had 20 minutes left before class started.
I took Clement's offer, and he bid his goodbyes to Edric. He led me up to the second floor, where all the year 11 students were. I could feel that everyone was looking at me weirdly. I felt intimidated by their stares. I never wanted this, not when it was my first day.
"Let's go up."
"Why is everyone looking at me?" I asked him when we walked up the stairs. Clement stopped in his tracks and turned to me. "It's because you're beautiful and adding the fact that you're the new kid."
Instead of going to the third floor, he led me to the rooftop. He showed me the small garden and some bean bags for the students to relax. He's so nice by telling me all the good foods in the cafeteria and what kind of extracurricular I should choose.
The bell rang, and he dropped me off in front of my class, "Thank you so much for the short tour. I would love to treat you to lunch if it's okay with you." I was so shy that I didn't even dare to look at him.
"How about a date? This Saturday?" He asked, and I looked up to him. He gave me his best smile, which successfully charmed me. "It's a date then."
I walked into my class and waved Clement goodbye. I sat on the last empty seat. It's at the back near the window. I put my bag down, and I heard low whispers. I decided to ignore it and moved on to enjoy my first day.
After three classes, it's lunchtime.
I was walking out of my class when someone tripped me. I fell face first, and before I could turn my head. That person put their foot on my head, stepping on me like I was a goddamn rock. "What the—" I tried to get up, but another foot pushed my back to hold me.
"Hey!" I shouted, and that person pulled me by the hair and pinned me to the wall.
I was face-to-face with a blonde-haired girl. She has pink highlights on her hair. Her eyes were brown, and she had freckles on her nose bridge. One thing I noticed before she slapped my cheek so hard was that her eyes were filled with anger.
She grabbed me by the hair again, literally trying to pull my hair out from my scalp. She kicked my stomach and let me fall to the ground.
I blamed my parents for teaching me always to back away when there's a problem. They're the type to let the problem solve itself because if you deal with the situation, everything will get worse. That's why they abandoned me. I'm such a problem and a burden to them that they want me to solve myself alone.
"How dare you flirt with my boyfriend!" Shit. Was Clement her boyfriend? Why would he ask me on a date, then?
I got up, planning to run away, but my face was pushed against the window. I tried to make my body out, but three people held me.
"Please..." I tried to beg, but it came out as a whisper since they pushed my throat against the glass.
"Mara! That's enough..." Mara let me go instantly, and I took my time to breathe. "Luna, are you okay?" I turned to see Clement looking at me, worried. He held on to Mara, who looked at me like she would kill me.
"She stole my pencil and my book!" Mara said, looking at Clement sadly. I shook my head, but Mara's minions took my bag and revealed her book and pencil that were inside my bag.
"No, I didn't," I said, but it came out as a whisper again. Clement narrowed his eyes at you and shook his head.
"Let's go, Mara." Clement wrapped his arm around her shoulder, leading her away from me.
"What have I done?" I whispered to myself.
