Chapter 13 - IMPOSSIBLE
Luna Morris
My grandparents told me that I was born to be an artist. They knew about it ever since they saw how fascinated I was when they took me to an art gallery when I was three. They took me to many places before, but only the art gallery that gave me sparks.
I never wanted to leave that place.
I've locked myself in a painting room for hours. It's where I found peace. I've been painting a view of Seattle's night streets because I've been looking out the window at night.
Someone knocked on the door, and it must be Daisy because she was the only one with access to my apartment. I told her to remind me if I've been locking up myself too long.
Because even though my painting room is my safe place, it's also where my destruction comes from.
"I bought some Thai food." She said, convincing me to come out. "Okay, I'll be out in a sec." I put my paintbrush down and took a last look before going out. I was greeted by Daisy when I opened the door. She smiled as she raised a plastic bag full of food.
"Let's eat." She gestured for me to follow her to the dining room. I washed my hands in the sink and looked at myself in the mirror. I have paint all over my face.
"Do you mind if I take a shower for 5 minutes? I look like a mess?"
"Sure, I'm reheating the tom yam broth anyway. Go!" She chuckled, and I gave her a thumbs-up before running towards my room and taking a quick shower. I walked out of the room excitedly to eat, and Clyde decided to put a frown on my face by sitting in the dining room talking to Daisy.
"What are you doing here?" He nods his head showing what he bought. He bought three steaks, three Korean hotdogs, and three strawberry shakes.
"I opened the door for him," Daisy said, avoiding my eyes, knowing I'll be glaring at her.
"You said you'll be in Florida for some time." He gestured for me to sit, and I sat across from him. "I finished my work early, Butterfly. Besides, I've missed you, so here I am." Daisy teased me with a smile, and I kicked her leg lightly, causing her to give him her poker face.
"Eat up. Daisy told me you've locked yourself to paint for over 7 hours already." I can't help but sigh, knowing my best friend spilled everything to Clyde so easily.
We started to eat silently because Daisy didn't dare to open her mouth, but she's been stealing glances between me and Clyde. She even smiled secretly when Clyde put food on my plate.
I'm going to kill her after this.
"I'm taking you to a charity event this Friday," Clyde said after his meal. "No, I'm busy."
"I'm introducing you to some of my friends since you rant so much about me not allowing you to have friends," Clyde added as he put both of his elbows on the table, intertwining his hands together and looking at me like he was judging at all of my sins.
"No, I'm not interested." Daisy kicked my leg, causing me to glare at her. "She's interested, don't worry."
"Daisy can join—" Before he could finish his sentence, "YES! We will go!"
"Great, I'll send you the details tonight." After we ate, Clyde insisted on washing the dishes. Daisy moved to the chair beside me and nudged me with her elbow.
"What did you do to have a boyfriend like that? What kind of blessing did you get? Which church did you go to?" She whispered. "It's a curse, Daisy."
"Why did you agree to him anyway? I won't be a good idea." I said, whispering to her. "I want to find myself a Billionaire boyfriend since you already have one. It would be fair for me to have one too. It's a charity event, full of Billionaires." I can't believe this woman.
"Fine," I said, and she hugged me tightly from the side.
"Oh well, look at the time. I have to feed my cat." She said as she got up from the seat. "You don't have a cat," I stated the obvious. "My neighbor's cat." She lied.
"Thanks for the meal, Clyde. Bye, baby girl." With that, she disappeared. "She doesn't have a cat?"
"She's allergic to cat and dog fur, so..." I said, and Clyde nodded before returning to washing the dishes.
"Are you tired?" He asked after finishing everything.
"Why are you asking?"
"I want to take you somewhere." He wiped his hands and walked towards me. He sat down and checked the time.
"Where?"
"Go get ready."
"I hate it when I don't know where we're going."
"Art Museum." He said, and I was sold. I got up and went straight to my room to change. I put on a long sleeve dress that falls to my middle thigh. I put my hair into a bun and wear white kitten heels. I put makeup on and some perfume.
I walked out, and Clyde checked me out from head to toe.
"Don't be rude!"
"It's not rude to check my girlfriend out. You look beautiful, Luna." My heart stopped for a second when he complimented me and said my name. "Let's go." He got up and put his hand out. I walked to the door, ignoring him. I could hear him chuckling before following me.
We went down to the lobby, and there were two cars ready. Blanc and a woman came out of the vehicle. "Ms.Morris." Blanc greeted me. I turned to Clyde, confused.
"This is Mila, and I assign her to be your assistant. She will help you with everything." Clyde said, and Mila smiled, introducing herself. "Clyde, I don't need an assistant."
"She will lose her job if you don't want her." I panicked. "Okay, fine." Mila gave me her card, and she told me that she already had my contact on her. She will stand by whenever and where I need her.
"Take us to the art museum, Blanc." Mila excused herself, and Blanc opened the door for us. After we got in, "Clyde, this is too much. I don't need an assistant."
"Nothing is too much for you, Butterfly." He kissed me on the top of my head.
Blanc drove us to the Art Museum, and two people were already waiting for us right in front of the building. Clyde gave his hand to me. I held it and got out of the car.
"Mr.Nielsen and Ms.Morris, welcome to Seattle Art Museum. My name is Liliana, and this is Fred. If you need anything or ask about anything, you can call us. We're ready to assist you." Liliana said as she led us into the museum.
"For this month, we have Eduardo Pollis that featured this museum," Fred said at the entrance. Liliana gave us a flyer about this month's theme. I looked around to see if there were other visitors, but the museum was empty.
"Is the museum usually this empty?" I asked.
"We're already closed but—"
"Let's go inside." Clyde cut Liliana, and they stayed behind as we walked in. Clyde was dragging me by the waist, "Did you rent the whole thing?" I asked as we stopped at the first piece.
It's a beautiful dinosaur artwork that Edward created with strings.
"That's weird." He commented. "Hey! What do you mean? It's cute!" Clyde tilted his head, trying to understand the concept of the art, making you chuckle. "You still don't know and understand art."
"I don't give a fuck about other people's art, and I only care about yours, so... I was just trying to make you happy since you enjoy going around the museum so bad." He stepped back, trying to see the dinosaur the way I did.
This reminded me of when we were little, and he couldn't stand to accompany me in the museum. He said the same thing when we were kids, and he was just there for me even though he thought museums were boring. He hates art galleries even more, and he said it is far more boring than Art Museum.
Rude.
We walked through the art museum slowly, and Clyde ranted about how Edward was weird because he only used red, yellow, and black.
"Did you rent the whole thing?" I asked since he had avoided the question earlier.
"Yes."
"Next time, we should go when it's open. It will be fun to have other people around."
"No."
"Why?"
"If you want to go to a museum, tell me. I'll rent the whole thing or buy the museum if you like it so much." My jaw dropped, and I shook my head, looking at him in disbelief.
"Buy the museum? Is it even possible?"
"You underestimate me, Butterfly. I'll buy all the museums in Seattle if you don't believe me."
