Chapter 45 - FUTURE
Luna Morris
I looked at all the boxes inside our new house. We have so many things to put away that I don't even know where to start. The movers are here to help us, and tomorrow, we have more furniture coming in.
"Butterfly, can you get me my measuring tape? I think it's in the painting room. I left it there yesterday." Clyde said as he was busy opening a box in the living room.
"Okay."
I walked upstairs to the painting room where Clyde designed it for me. It's a big room with an extensive shelf for my painting tools like brushes, painting kits, and even buckets of paints. He bought so many new canvases for me that I didn't even know where to put them.
He told me that my painting room needed to be finished first so I could have a safe place in the house, but I insisted on finishing the bedroom first. We fought yesterday about putting a motion sensor in our bedroom.
When Clyde discovered that I had renovated my room in my apartment for him, he was unhappy. He told me the motion sensor would only scare me at night, but I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable because I kept the lights on.
He glared at me for it.
He told me he's getting used to it, so he doesn't need to install new motion sensor lights for us in the new house. I kept insisting on installing it when he didn't want it. I ended up winning the fight because I threatened him that if he didn't want it installed, he might as well get a separate bedroom.
He shut his mouth that second and agreed to my terms.
I grabbed my measuring tape from my painting room and returned to the living room because we would install our vacuum machine on the wall.
"Did you find it?" Clyde asked me, and I gave the measuring tape to him.
"Do you need my help?" I asked as I squatted down with him as he read the instructions.
"No, I'll be fine. Blanc will help me." He turned to me and smiled before kissing me.
"I'll be in the kitchen then." I went to the kitchen to put away all the kitchen utensils. Mila joined me after I sent her to the post office to return some things.
After a few hours of working on things, I ordered food for all of us because it was almost lunchtime. I walked out to the garden with a cup of tea, enjoying the view while waiting for our food.
"Loving the view?" Clyde stood beside me with a bottle of water.
"Yeah, and I still can't believe you bought this house three months before I came here." I took a sip of my tea and turned to Clyde. "You had the confidence that we would end up together," I said as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Yeah, you made me swear I'll marry you, so... I'm pretty confident." He smirked as he drank his water, causing you to chuckle.
"What if we don't end up together like you predicted when you built the house?" I asked curiously.
"I will make sure that we will end up either way."
"So arrogant," I commented, and he laughed. He put his water bottle on the ground and then grabbed my cup of tea, putting it on the garden table behind me.
"I can't wait to marry you." He held my hands and kissed me before kneeling on one knee. My eyes widened, and my hands covered my mouth in disbelief.
Clyde took out a small black box and opened it, revealing a beautiful blue and white diamond ring.
"Butterfly, I won't ask you if you want to marry me because you have to. You don't have any other choice about who you're marrying because it's always been me." He smiled, and tears started to fill my eyes.
"I've always seen spending my whole life with you. Stay with me forever, and I'll give you the world. I will love you as long as I live, and I can't wait for you to be my wife." He grabbed my hand and put the ring on my ring finger.
I hugged him, and he spun me around. I cried in his arms and kissed him before pulling away.
"I love you so much," I whispered, and he kissed my forehead.
"I love you more, Butterfly."
Our food came, and we all ate together. I told Clyde to give Mila and Blanc a long vacation because they'd been working non-stop. They rejected the offer, but I will make sure Clyde gives them one.
After a long day, we returned to my apartment for a movie night. Clyde fell asleep right after the movie started, allowing me to look at him. He's been teasing me a lot by looking at him.
"I love you so much, Clyde," I whispered and kissed his head.
"I know," he whispered, and he snuggled into me.
I really can't wait to live my life with this man. Even though it won't be easy, knowing we both have a complicated backgrounds, I know we will work out. We're not perfect, and there will be ups and downs, which I know will make us stronger than before.
He's my safe place and my peace.
I will never trade him for anything in this world.
At first, I thought I would never be able to love someone, especially after what happened. Clyde proved me wrong. He made me believe that love exists and that I can be happy despite my past.
I will protect him as much as he protects me. I will make sure he's safe as much as he did to me. I will always put him first, like he always puts me first.
"Clyde," I called him.
"Hmmm?"
"I want you." In a split second, he opened his eyes and looked up at me.
"What did you just say?"
"I said I love you," I smirked, and he slipped his hand into my sweatpants.
"I'm not deaf, Butterfly. You can't fool me." I chuckled.
The End.
