18.Do I need to do this every morning to get a sweet kiss from you?
As soon as he put down his phone, Braun entered his office.
'How's it going?" he immediately asked her.
'Perfect," she replied, giving a subtle smile. 'I just need to ensure the genuineness of the proposal he's offering and check their background before making a decision."
Braun quietly approached her with his laptop. He placed the laptop on the table there and opened his Gmail.
'Give me your email address, and I will check it myself," he said, surprising her.
'B-Braun, you don't need to do that." She said shyly.
He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. 'Briella, this is the least I can do for you... for now. Would you deny me that?"
'But…" She couldn't finish her sentence when, without warning, he took her phone as it rang.
She had no choice but to let him. She felt embarrassed thinking he would scrutinize her proposal, which paled in comparison to the proposals of several companies in his agency.
'Don't you have other things to do?" she asked when he started typing on his laptop.
'I do," he replied.
She sighed deeply, feeling small for taking up his time. Next time, she wouldn't let him get involved.
'I'll have to review this proposal. Can you give me twenty minutes to read this?" he said, looking at her.
'You don't need to do that, and I can read it and—"
'No more arguments, wife," he interrupted.
She just shrugged. Whenever he used that authoritative yet gentle voice, she couldn't resist but comply. She held back a smile, thinking it was too early to acknowledge her budding feelings for the President.
Even though they knew their feelings for each other, she needed to put them aside. She wouldn't be at peace until she had her revenge on those who betrayed her.
She sat silently beside him for a long time, occasionally glancing at him as he read the proposal seriously.
'Would you like some coffee?" she asked. She was about to make some when he quickly grabbed her hand.
'Please stay with me, wife," he said without looking at her.
Her face turned red, and her heart raced; even the butterflies in her stomach fluttered. Braun didn't let go of her hand while he continued reading, and she felt as if she would lose her heart with every heartbeat.
After a while, he closed his laptop and faced her. 'Their offer is good, their proposal to you is very detailed, and I didn't find any flaws. It will be a good opportunity for you," he said.
She remained silent, thinking about what he said. However, she felt shy, fearing what he might say if she hesitated. On the other hand, she couldn't just rely on him; she had to decide for herself.
'Thank you, but I hope you won't take it the wrong way. I will still look into it. I've asked Chelsey to research Janice Ortega and her company," she said softly. She didn't want him to get offended.
He raised an eyebrow, and the corner of his mouth curled up. 'That's quite impressive."
She blushed at his praise. She felt like hitting herself for behaving this way.
'Anyway, I only read her proposal and gave you my feedback. It's up to you whether to accept or reject it," he said, smiling.
She nodded and bit her lip, feeling awkward in their silence. What should she do when they run out of things to talk about?
'Uhm… if it's okay with you, I'd like to sleep now. I've taken up too much of your time, and you still seem to have a lot to do," she said, lifting her gaze only to look down again as he stared at her with a smile.
He chuckled softly and lifted her chin.
'I like it when you show me how gentle you are when we're together, Briella," he said, still smiling.
She stared into his gray eyes, which were shining with happiness.
'I have no reason to hide from you, Braun. This is the real me," she whispered.
He slowly approached her and softly kissed her lips. It was a light kiss, but it profoundly affected her. She felt like pulling him back when he pulled away and deepened their kiss.
'As soon as your problem with your ex-fiancé is settled, I will announce our marriage, and I will marry you again in front of everyone," he said, his eyes serious.
She gasped, and her eyes widened. 'D-Do we need to get married again?"
'Don't you want to?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
'Of course I do, but can we take things slow?" she replied.
'You are already my wife, Briella. What do you want me to do to convince you to marry me in front of everyone?" he asked, smirking.
She bit her lip and scratched her neck. 'I can't let you do that unless I regain my career. I want to feel worthy of being your wife when we get married, and you present me to everyone."
'Are you afraid they will criticize you?" he asked.
She took a deep breath and nodded. 'In our world, we both know that the media isn't always fair. If they see an opportunity, even if it's false, they'll twist it to make it seem true. They're always looking for something to profit from that elevates them."
'Okay, I'll support your decision. But promise me, when the right time comes, I won't take no for an answer," he said.
She smiled broadly and nodded. 'I won't say no, promise."
'Then let's seal it with a kiss," he said, quickly approaching her to kiss her lips.
She was taken aback by the sudden kiss but responded when she recovered. Their kiss deepened, and she felt excited, hoping to feel his warm touches and caresses again.
But after a few minutes, he pulled away. She couldn't hide her disappointment, which made him laugh. He lovingly kissed her forehead and the tip of her nose.
'Everything has its time. Let's wait for the right moment," he said, effortlessly lifting her.
'Let's sleep. You have an early day tomorrow, and you can't stay up late," he said, heading towards the door.
'Y-You don't need to carry me," she said. 'Put me down, Braun."
'Your legs are precious to me, wife. I don't want them to get scratched. What if you slip or twist your ankle?" he replied.
She was taken aback by what Braun said. She wanted to tap his forehead and ask if he was okay. What was he talking about? She's wearing slippers, for God's sake!
When they reached their room, he gently laid her on the bed, pulled the comforter over her, and tucked her in. She watched him silently, holding back laughter for fear of upsetting him.
After adjusting the comforter, he grabbed the air conditioner remote, ensuring it was set to a comfortable temperature. He then turned off the lights, leaving only the lampshade on.
He lay beside her, stretching his arm for her to rest on.
'Good night, wife," he said, kissing her forehead.
'Good night, Braun," she whispered. Soon, his natural masculine scent enveloped her. Braun's body was sturdy and robust but felt soft and comforting.

When she opened her eyes the next morning, Braun was no longer by her side. She frowned when she looked at the digital clock on the side table.
It was already ten o'clock. Had Braun left already?
After fixing it, she got out of bed and went into the bathroom to shower and perform her morning rituals. She had intentionally not woken up early since they had agreed to meet Chelsey at one o'clock. Besides, she had nothing to do at the agency today; she was sure the two would be together again, up to whatever in Xander's office.
A few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom and almost screamed when she saw Braun coming out of their walk-in closet.
'You scared the hell out of me!" she said, clutching her chest.
'I"m sorry," he said, approaching her and kissing her on the lips. 'Good morning." He greeted her with a smile.
'G-Good morning," she replied, unable to stop herself from swallowing hard. Her mouth suddenly went dry when he kissed her; thankfully, she had already showered and brushed her teeth before he kissed her. 'I thought you had left already."
He shook his head. 'I cooked breakfast, and I showered in the other room. I didn't want to disturb your peaceful sleep," he answered.
'Why are you always making me feel embarrassed," she said, covering both cheeks because she knew they were blushing again.
He's going overboard!
'Because you're even more beautiful," he said, winking at her.
She pressed her lips together and quickly turned away. She hurried out of the room, unable to face him with her face all red from his comments. She headed straight to the kitchen, and her jaw nearly dropped as she saw the table set with four kinds of dishes, fried rice with garlic, toasted bread, and two cups of coffee.
Three red roses were facing her seat, making her smile as she picked them up.
'Do you like it?" she heard him ask from behind her.
She turned to face him and smiled. 'We've only been married for a few days, but I've already learned many unusual things about you. I don't know if the man I married is Mr. Braun El Cueva."
'And why is that?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he approached her.
'Because you're different from what I've heard about you," she answered.
'Tell me about it while we're eating. Luigi will show up any moment and ruin the romantic ambiance I tried to master."
She couldn't help but laugh at his honesty, approach, and kiss. Her action took her back. Braun smiled and returned to his seat.
'Do I need to do this every morning to get a sweet kiss from you?" he asked her, recovering from his surprise.
'I don't want to ruin everything. As you said, you worked hard to master this," she replied, smiling and placing the flowers beside her.
She thought about putting them in their room and taking care to keep them from wilting too soon. These were the first flowers Braun had given her, so they were important to her and must be preserved. She would frame the leaves and hang them on their room's wall when they had dried.
'Let's eat?" he asked.
They happily shared the meal he had cooked for her. Throughout the meal, he was attentive to her needs, always close at hand. She felt very special, someone he cared for and cherished most.
