65. I’ll behave
Upon landing on Braun's private jet, he immediately instructed Luigi to set up a meeting with the CEO of Lé Fragrance and erase all traces of the spreading video turmoil involving his wife.
After Chelsey dropped him off earlier, he had a feeling of what was happening, he called Travis, who filled him in on everything.
Of course, it was Briella's idea not to tell him the truth. He felt she didn't want to disrupt his work because she knew he would leave whatever he was doing to be by her side.
He headed straight to MMG, seeing reporters waiting outside the hospital, seemingly anticipating Briella's emergence.
'Call Travis," he instructed Luigi. 'Tell him not to let any reporter inside the hospital," he ordered.
The man nodded and immediately made the call. Their car entered the basement, and before Luigi could even park properly, he got out and left him behind. Clenching his fists, he stepped into the elevator and headed to the second floor where Briella was.
He couldn't believe that in the three days he was away from Briella, people had already hurt his wife. It seemed he needed to officially announce to the world that no one could harm his wife. And anyone who dared to hurt Briella would pay dearly!
The elevator stopped, and as it opened, he turned left and searched for the room number where his wife was staying. Upon finding it, he immediately opened it and found his peacefully sleeping wife, while Chelsey sat beside her, accompanied by a man nearly her age.
'Big Boss!" Chelsey exclaimed, but he gestured for her to be quiet and ushered her out.
'What the hell happened?" he demanded as soon as they were alone.
'Um..." Chelsey scratched her head, clearly unsure how to explain everything. 'You see..."
'Damn it, Chelsey just tell me what happened!" he snapped at her, feeling her fear of him and her panic every time she spoke. 'Do I need to call Luigi and talk to you instead of me?"
'Huh?" she said in surprise, further perplexing him. 'B-Big Boss, you might twist my neck if I tell you what really happened."
This woman was truly different; just mentioning Luigi's name made her suddenly coherent.
He took a deep breath and was about to speak when the door to Briella's hospital suite opened, and the man who had been with Chelsey stepped out. At first glance, he knew it was Briella's brother because he bore a slight resemblance to his wife.
'My sister's awake," he said, looking at him.
He nodded and simply passed by him, but before he fully entered, he thanked him.
Upon entering, he saw Briella sitting up and looking at him. He approached her and immediately kissed her on the lips and then on the forehead.
'How are you feeling?" he asked softly. It pained him to see his wife in a hospital bed.
'I'm fine," Briella replied, leaning against his shoulder and hugging him.
He sighed in relief; when Briella was this affectionate, his worries melted away.
'This will be the last time I will not be by your side, wife. I don't want this kind of chaos to happen again," he said, his tone serious.
'Yes, Mr. President," she replied, teasing him.
He hugged her tightly and kissed her on the head. 'God, I missed you!"
'I missed you too, hubby. But what happened to your collaboration project?" she asked as if she had no intention of letting go.
He sat beside her on the bed and held her in his arms again. 'The deal was set, and our next meeting was for them to come here to the Philippines and sign the agreement."
She didn't speak and just remained embraced in his arms, neither did he move, just feeling his wife's presence. He knew she was worried about what he might do regarding the circulating video, but she couldn't bring herself to tell him.
After a moment, Travis and Nami entered one after the other, and he immediately narrowed his gaze at Travis, who quickly raised both hands in surrender.
'Ceasefire, dude! I wasn't around when the chaos happened," Travis defended himself right away.
'Don't worry, she's fine. Dizziness and fainting are normal, it's a part of her early pregnancy," Nami said with a smile.
Even though he already knew about Briella's pregnancy, he couldn't help but be surprised; it was as if the good news had just hit him now. He's going to be a father soon!
He heard Briella release a deep sigh, so he looked at her.
'I'm sorry, for not telling you earlier. I just didn't want to bother you with your work," she said.
He smiled at her and gently kissed her forehead.
'It's okay, what matters is that you and our baby are safe," he said.
'Whoa! I suddenly got goosebumps, can you repeat it again? I would like to hear you say the last words," Travis grinned, pretending to shiver.
'F*ck off," he said sharply to Travis and then turned to Nami. 'Can we leave now? Or does she need to stay here?"
'She's fine, all she needs is rest and to be extra careful," Nami replied.
'Okay, thank you," he said. 'Are you ready?"
She nodded at him and composed herself.
'Are you ready to visit your father's family? ‘Cause, we're going to meet them, now," he said firmly to Briella.
Briella paused, looking surprised at him while Nami let out an exasperated sigh.
'You're not supposed to stress the pregnant woman, Braun. Are you even listening to me?" she scolded him.
'Shut up, I know what I'm doing. They need to know what kind of person they messed with," he said firmly, his expression hardening.
He wouldn't let the humiliation those two inflicted on Briella go unpunished.
No one can hurt his Queen! That was his golden rule. If anyone tries to break his rule they're gonna all pay and wish they were never born.

Briella couldn't do anything about Braun's decision; they were now on their way to the Montañez mansion. Jeydon was with them in the car, quiet and waiting to see what would happen when they faced each other.
Briella took a deep breath, something Braun immediately noticed and glanced at her.
'Stop worrying, wife. I just want to talk to your father," he said.
'And that makes me more worried," she replied.
He took her hand and brought it to his lips to kiss.
'I'll behave myself, as long as they face me as humans, but if they act like animals in front of me. I'm sorry, wife, but I can also act like a beast in front of them," he said to her.
She glanced at Jeydon through the rearview mirror, and the latter gave him a tight-lipped smile, perhaps she would talk to him later to apologize. Braun still referred to Jeydon as family, but even he wouldn't overlook what Megan did. She made it clear that starting today, she would take back everything, and she would prioritize visiting her mother and taking care of her.
After a while, they were outside the mansion. Jeydon got out first to open the gate for them, then they followed, and for the first time after a long absence, Briella entered the house again. Many happy memories flooded her mind—times when she and her Daddy happily chased each other while her Mommy was busy making sandwiches for the two of them.
'Briella!" Her Daddy exclaimed happily as they entered. She felt Braun's arm around her waist as her Daddy approached, seemingly showing that he was ready to protect her from anyone who wanted to harm her— even from her father.
'I was delighted when President Braun called me," he said, glancing at her husband. 'He said he wanted to talk to me," he added.
'With all due respect, Mr. Montañez, I want to talk about how your family treated my wife," Braun bluntly stated. 'Are they here?"
Though puzzled, her Daddy nodded. After letting them in, he instructed Jeydon to call Megan and her siblings. They sat side by side with Braun on the long sofa while her father stood in front of them, silently observing.
She remained silent and didn't look at her Daddy. If given a choice, she wasn't ready to face him yet, but for Braun's peace of mind, she was here now, facing the man who had broken their happy family in the past.
'What's this all about?" she heard Megan ask as she approached, accompanied by her husband, with their mother following closely behind, visibly flustered and nervous.
'Megan, sit down. Mr. El Cueva wants to talk to us, where are your other siblings?" her Daddy said seriously.
Megan sat on the single sofa while her husband stood beside her, looking at Braun, while her mother sat beside her Daddy. Her other two siblings—Jeydon and Kimineah—arrived with her father.
'Briella, so good to see you!" Kimineah happily exclaimed, approaching her for a hug. She hugged her back, while Jeydon took a seat next to her on a separate chair.
'Now that we're all here, can I know why you suddenly called for this gathering?" her father asked Braun.
Braun looked at her, took her hand, and glanced around before stopping at Megan.
'I came all the way here just to make your daughter apologize to my wife," Braun said firmly and powerfully, looking directly at Megan.
She sighed. Where was the 'I'll behave" part he mentioned earlier?
'What? And why would I do that?" Megan retorted sharply to Braun. 'She provoked me and mocked my pregnancy, did she tell you that? Or did she just manipulate you and play the victim to gain your sympathy?"
He raised an eyebrow and lifted the corner of his lip before glancing at her.
'She never told me anything about what happened. I saw the CCTV footage, and right now, my attorneys are sending it to the authorities to file a case against you and your mother," Braun said calmly.
If Megan was surprised, she was even more so. She had no idea about that. That explains why she didn't see Luigi.
'I—I didn't do anything!" Megan exclaimed, feeling nervous.
'What the hell did you and your mother do this time?" her father interjected, unable to resist joining the conversation.
'Dad, don't tell me you believe what he's saying—"
'Just answer my question, Megan. What did you do?" her father demanded, his voice strong and authoritative.
