69. What an ideal man!
Braun had barely closed his eyes when he felt Briella move and approach him, wrapping her arms around him.
'Hubby," she called out to him.
'Hmm?" he responded, embracing his wife's body.
'I'm hungry," Briella said.
He opened his eyes and sat up, then turned to his still-lying wife.
'What do you want to eat?" he asked affectionately, switching on the light in their room. He glanced at the clock; it was almost half past two.
'Pizza," she replied simply.
'Okay," he said, getting out of bed and putting on the black shirt hanging on a chair.
'I'll come with you," said Briella, getting up as well. She leaned on him as they walked hand in hand to the kitchen.
After he helped her sit down, he went to the fridge to get a pizza to heat up. Their large fridge was almost filled with ready-to-cook chicken pizza because that's what Briella liked to eat when she suddenly craved something. Her fondness for ube ice cream hadn't faded either, but he tried to control that because he was worried she might overindulge and upset her stomach.
'Can I have my ice cream, too?" she asked sweetly after he put the pizza in the oven.
'Later, after you've eaten your pizza," he said. 'Do you want coffee?"
'I want ice cream," she said with a pout. He smiled as he approached and pinched her cheek.
'You're hungry, and it's not good for you to eat something cold on an empty stomach. I promise, after you've eaten pizza, I'll give you ice cream," he said.
She stared at him for a long time before sighing and bowing her head.
'Good girl," he said, kissing her on the forehead.
He left her briefly and made coffee for himself and milk for Briella. He felt tired and sleepy, but he could endure it for his affectionate wife.
'Here, drink this first," he said, handing her a glass of milk.
She drank it silently while waiting for the pizza to cook. He sat beside her and massaged her shoulders; she had only been pregnant for a month, but he noticed the slight changes in her body.
She leaned on him and closed her eyes. 'I'm sleepy. Is the pizza still not cooked?" she asked.
'Close your eyes for now. I'll wake you up when the pizza is ready," he said, stroking her hair.
She followed his advice and closed her eyes; he moved closer to her so she could lean properly on his shoulder. He hugged her and made sure she wouldn't fall while he fought his sleepiness. He recalled his conversation with Mommy Lebyth again; though reluctant, he knew she had a point.
He just didn't want Briella to get tired and stressed. He wouldn't allow that! Who could he trust to be Briella's Personal Assistant once she got Lé Fragrance? He couldn't just hire any assistant; it had to be someone capable of protecting his wife and being clever.
He sighed and looked at his sleeping wife.
Couldn't she just stay at home, and he'd take care of these things?
When the oven beeped, Briella quickly opened her eyes and looked at him.
'Is it done?" she asked.
He smiled and gave her a quick kiss before taking out the pizza and slicing it. Then he got a plate, fork, and knife. He was about to sit down when Briella stopped him.
'Where is my ice cream?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
He chuckled and approached the fridge to get her favorite ice cream. He scooped some into a bowl and returned the ice cream to the freezer.
'Here," he said, unable to contain his smile at the unusual sparkle in her eyes. She looked like a child who had been given her favorite treat.
She immediately devoured the ice cream while he sliced the pizza and fed her. He knew she would ignore the pizza once she finished the ice cream.
He was a business tycoon who had studied every twist and turn to maintain his position. He could analyze and understand the people he interacted with, but he really couldn't grasp what was going on with a pregnant woman.
He couldn't understand why her tastes were different and even the foods she wanted to eat. Just like now, he was amazed at what Briella was doing, turning ube ice cream into pizza toppings and eating it.
'Here, try this, hubby," Briella said, offering him a bite of the pizza with ube ice cream on top.
He didn't complain and immediately ate it.
'Delicious, isn't it?" she asked with a smile.
He nodded with a smile. 'I never eat like this before. Can ice cream really be used as a pizza topping?" he asked, nodding repeatedly.
Briella's smile widened as she fed him another bite, almost finishing an entire pizza if he didn't keep up.
Meanwhile, Lebyth watched with a smile as the couple happily ate pizza. She couldn't deny how lucky her daughter was to have met a man like Braun.
Feeling thirsty, she decided to go downstairs. She was careful not to make any noise as she descended, afraid she might wake the couple. But she heard Briella's voice, sounding delighted as she fed her husband.
She discreetly peeked at the two, and her heart was filled with joy at their sight. No parent could help but shed tears when they saw their child happy and with the right person.
She forgot about her thirst and carefully returned to her room. Now she knew her child was in good hands, so she could rest assured even if she had to be away for a while.

At seven a.m., she woke up with the intention of cooking for the two before she left to meet with her lawyer. However, she was surprised to see Braun preparing breakfast.
'A-Aren't you still sleeping, Son?" she asked, surprised.
'Good morning, Mom," he greeted her as he set the plates on the table. 'I need to prepare her food before I leave; I don't trust her friend."
She was taken aback by what he said, and only then did she notice several Tupperware containers with food, not including what he had prepared for breakfast.
She admired him even more for his extreme care for her child.
'Sometimes you need to rest too, Braun. Briella wouldn't like it if you got sick from being overworked," she said, approaching. 'I'll do the dishes—"
'No need, Mom," he quickly interrupted. 'I'll take care of it," he said with a smile and started washing the dishes he used for cooking.
What kind of person did my daughter marry? In front of others, he seemed dangerous and heartless, but at home and with his wife, he was like a different person. What an ideal man!
'Do you need something, Mom?" he asked as he busied himself with washing the dishes.
She sighed heavily and shook her head. 'I was planning to cook for you and Briella, but it seems unnecessary now."
He didn't respond, and she only heard a soft laugh from him.
'I'll excuse myself for now; I plan to talk to my lawyer today about the cases I can file against those shameless people," she said.
'You don't want to eat with us? Briella will be waking up soon and coming downstairs," he said.
Before she could speak, they heard a car stop outside the house. Her attention returned to Braun when she heard him take a deep breath, and she couldn't help but frown as it was evident that the man was already troubled by whoever arrived.
They soon heard the doorbell, and Braun's frown deepened as he abruptly stopped washing the dishes, leaving them to go straight to the door. She followed him, her curiosity piqued by the sudden change in his demeanor.
'Good morning, Big Boss!" she heard a woman greet.
Big Boss? His secretary?
'I told you not to use the doorbell, didn't I?" Braun said to the woman.
'How am I supposed to come in if I don't ring the doorbell?" the woman countered.
Braun sighed heavily, clearly restraining himself from yelling at the woman. He opened the door wider and turned away from the woman.
The woman stopped in her tracks when she saw her, as if she recognized her, and was shocked to see her there.
'A-Aren't you Briella's mother?" she asked with widened eyes, pointing at her.
She smiled and nodded, now recognizing her. It was Chelsey, Briella's friend, and her manager. 'Nice to meet you, Chelsey."
'Does that mean you're not..." she didn't continue speaking but gestured and spun her finger around her ear. 'You know what I mean?" she asked with a grimace.
She laughed and shook her head. She liked Chelsey's vibe; she exuded such good vibes. She was pleased with her daughter's choice; she was grateful that she stayed by her daughter's side.
'Oh, sorry. I apologize for my question," she said, scratching her head.
'It's okay, there's nothing to worry about it," she said to her.
'Chelsey, come here. I want to explain something to you," Braun called to the girl.
Chelsey immediately complied and politely bid her farewell. She also said goodbye to Braun and said she was leaving. She would just eat at a restaurant while talking to her lawyer since their conversation would probably be long due to her long-delayed lawsuit.
As she stepped out of the house, she was surprised to see a man standing by the side of the car, seemingly waiting for her to come out.
'Good morning, Mrs. Montañez. Are we leaving?" he asked kindly.
'Huh?" she said in surprise.
'President Braun instructed me to take you wherever you want to go," he replied, opening the car door for her.
She opened her mouth to speak but closed it again because she couldn't find the words. She was really surprised by what he said; she had just talked to Braun, and he didn't mention anything to her.
After a moment, she smiled and looked back at the door that Chelsey had come out of. He really is something. He's very forward-thinking and constantly worries about the people who are important to Briella. It's rare to find a man who's a complete package, as the young people say nowadays.
It's like I want to go back to being a teenager and dream of a man like Braun. What's the trendy saying of the youth these days? Ah, right. I hope everyone has a President Braun.
