Chapter 28 : Trust Him
| Trust Him |
Telling the truth to your parents is very important, and I know I don't have to deny our relationship.
My mother smiled. "I thought, you will finish your study first, hmm… why a sudden change, sweetie?"
I put the plates on the table before answering. "I thought so, mom. But things happen unexpectedly. At first, I don't want to, but this bizarre feeling seems to grow. And I don't have control—Ah, I can control it, but mom, I can't resist it," I said. I sat down on the chair and heaved a deep sigh.
"That's what I'm talking about since then, and I'm not against it, sweetie. I'm happy that you're experiencing it, yet I want you to set limits, okay?"
I smiled and helped her to fix the table. "Yes, mom, and thank you."
"Anyway, sweetie, Linus seems nice and a responsible man. He's mature enough for you and I like that. I think he can help you with your childish attitude sometimes."
"Mom…"
My mother laughed. "Kidding aside. Well, dinner's ready, you can call him," she said, still wearing a smile on her face.
I shook my head and climb upstairs. I knocked three times before I twitched the knob and step inside, but I immediately turn around when I saw Linus, shirtless. Damn!
He was sleeping and—damn, my not-so-innocent eyes!
I hemmed to clear my throat. I walked backward, trying my best not to look in his direction. I stopped when my leg touches the edge of the bed. I pursed my lips and closes my eyes as I heaved a sigh.
I counted inside my mind up to three.
"Linus," I speak out. "Hey," I tapped his legs? I think. "Linus, wake up," I said, once more and tapped him again. "Linus, wake up."
And I still didn't get any response. So, what I did is give some force with it and tapped him again.
Still, he didn't move. I clenched my fist and was about to turn and look at him when I heard a soft chuckle.
I then slowly turn my gaze on him.
I gasped when I saw him wide awake and a grin flustered on his handsome face.
"You…" I went closer to him, a little pissed, and was about to start beating him when he reached out of my hand and pulled me, and I landed on his broad chest.
"You're cute," he muttered as he envelops his hand on my waist.
I was stunned by it and my heart pounds fast and loud.
"Let's stay like this for a while," he said.
I closed my eyes and cussed inside my mind when his breath touches my nape. Can't he be considerate, that I'm not used to the position? Me on his top, and for goodness's sake, he is topless. And my, my… my pile is on his chest.
I tried to let go, but he was strong and pinned me to his body.
"Linus… don't you dare," I threaten when his hand started to travel on my back.
Again, I heard his sexy chuckle. He let go of me and I swiftly stay away from him.
"Don't worry, I won't do it, not unless you want me to," he said and grinned.
I grabbed the pillow and threw it right on his face. "Shut up! And put your shirt on. Dinner's ready. Mom and dad are waiting downstairs," I said and marched my way out of the guestroom.
As I closed the door, I leaned on the wall and hold my chest. Damn! What's into him? The pace of my heartbeat was faster than usual. I almost had my heart pop out of my chest.
"OH, where's Linus, sweetie?" my mom asked when she saw me entering the kitchen.
"He'll be here in a minute, mom," I answered.
"You have a good-looking boyfriend, honey," said Dad.
I smiled. "And you have a beautiful daughter. So, I guessed I deserve it. Don't you think, daddy?"
My father laughed. "You're really my daughter."
"It's because, you two shared the same attitude—childish," my mom said.
I was about to talk when Linus approached the kitchen.
"Good evening," he greeted and sat down beside me. He looked at me and smiled. And that was a captivating one that makes my heart thumping fast.
"Let's pray," said mom and cast a short prayer.
"Let's eat," said Dad the moment mom ended the prayer.
"Feel at home, Linus," said mom, and Linus just nodded and smiled.
I reached out for the bowl of rice and handed it to Linus. He smiled at me again and I was stunned when he suddenly put rice on my plate rather than on his. And on my peripheral vision, I saw my mother smirk.
"Thank you," I said.
we don't talk too much while having dinner, it was just dad, mom, and Linus, and sometimes I talk when I was involved in the topic. And I was shocked that Linus talks about farming and seems to know all about it. Well, he was rich and rich people don't seem to know much about farming, but Linus, he even knows and replied to all my father's questions. And my mom was smiling at me, seems like she was very much proud that I have Linus. It's what I felt, at least.
After dinner, we decided to walk outside and feel the cold breeze. Linus' hands were inside the pocket of his jagger while I wear my floral dress below the knee. I'm used to wearing dresses because they will not hide my belly fat, though I didn't have a big one.
"So, you graduated Architecture?" I started and kicked the small stone in front of me.
"Yes, sorry for not saying it—"
"It's fine, we're just new with our relationship. But I want to know more about you, if that was fine," I said. I stopped walking and looked at him. He then stopped and look at me.
"I already took the board exam and ranked at number 1 in Denmark," he said.
"Denmark?"
"I'm from Denmark," he replied.
I let out a soft chuckle. "Oh, tell me more about you—let's talk on the top of that hill," I said and pointed to the hill near us, I reached out his hand and dragged him up.
"Hey, take it slowly," he said but I didn't bother to listen, his hands in mine give an electrifying feeling and the butterflies in my stomach started wiggling again.
"Is it fine with you if we seat on the grass?" I asked.
He smiled. "Of course," he replied and sat down.
And I was stunned when he helped me sit down. "Thank you," I said.
"So… why did you choose C.U? Denmark has a good education quality, why choose a far place?"
"I have reasons."
With that, I think, he doesn't want to speak about it for more.
"I'm sorry."
He held my hand and pressed it. "It's fine, it's just that, I have a small problem with my family that I choose to study overseas," he said.
"Hmm…"
"I have a younger sister. And we have lots of properties to handle in the future." He looked up. "There's no interesting story about myself," he laughed, and I think it was sarcastic.
"Hey, let's just talk about us. Let's change the topic. Hmm… are you really fine with the relationship we have? That I choose it to be private?" I asked to change the topic.
He raised his hand and touches my left cheek. "I'm okay with it. And you're important more than anything. I love you, Becca," he said, suddenly.
I held his hand that's on my cheek and pressed it. "I love you, Linus."
"No matter what happens, please trust me," he said, putting a question mark inside my head.
My brows were wrinkled. "What do you mean?"
"I want you to trust me, Becca. And please don't ever question my love for you."
I stared into his eyes but I can't see it clearly, since we're on top of a hill.
"Of course."
"Promise me."
I pulled my body away from him. "Hey, wait, what's hap—" I didn't finish what I'm saying when his lips pressed unto mine.
