Chapter 35 : Finale: Part 2
WHEN we entered his room, I already expected what his room looks like. It's elegant and I could feel that I'm not suited in here. I waited for him as he went inside the bathroom to take a bath. And when he came out, I cursed under my breath. Damn! he's topless. I immediately looked away.
I close my eyes when I heard him chuckle, softly.
"You can see this when after we are getting married. And if you want it now, we can—"
"Shut up. I didn't go here for that," I said, pissed.
Of all things he wants to say, why does he need to bring that thing up? And I can't stop myself not to think differently. Damn!
My eyes remained outside until arms snaked from behind, hugging me. He rests his chin on my right shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Becca," he said. I turned to him; his hands remained in my waist.
"Explain."
"Let's talk about my favorite place," he said and pulled me as we walked through the door.
We walked for a couple of minutes before we reached his favorite place. I was stunned by what I saw.
It's a beautiful garden filled with different flowers and different colors. We walked on the pathway and stop right in front of a tree—a huge tree. Plants and flowers were all over it.
Linus is still holding my hands, we turned left, and I gasped for what I saw. I looked around before I looked back at him. There's no one in this place except for us.
"The chamber?"
Linus smiled and pushed the door. He led me inside and for the nth time, I gasped again.
"It's magical…" I uttered.
"It is."
He closes the door and we walked forward. Butterflies were shining as they fly all over the place. I looked up and see the branches of the huge trees. Flowers are fresh and fragrant. And what caught my interest is the falls with raging sparkling waters as the luminous sun shines on them. just a couple of hours, and it will be going to set.
Dusk is coming.
Linus leads me to the big rock in front of the water and gestured to sit down.
"Welcome to the magic chamber," he said.
"I thought it was just a—"
"Yes, it is. This is a man-made chamber and was built a long time ago by our ancestors. The place remained magically. And as time goes by, people who knew this place told to everyone that it was magical. Yes, it's magical but not in the way that it will lead you to another dimension," he said and laughed. "And the tale about the magic chamber begins, until now."
"I love this place," I said as I roamed my eyes around.
"This is my favorite. If I want to be alone, I always stay here. just to find peace."
I looked at him and almost forget about my intention. "Why did you lie? And why did you leave?" I asked, straight-forward.
"I love you, Becca."
"A-huh?"
"It's not my intention to lie to you. I just don't want to lose you. If I'm going to tell you that I'm a prince, would you still accept my love?"
I didn't answer.
"I take that as a no. I escape Denmark to find a new life. I don't want to be a king. I just want to live as an ordinary man, finding love because my heart told me to. I hate to arrange marriage. I hat the royal duties—"
"But you were born with it," I said.
He held my hand and pressed it. "But I wanted to marry someone whom I love the most not that someone who will help me expand the business," he said.
"And that would be?"
"You," he said.
"But I'm too young for it—"
"I'm willing to wait. Just don't break up with me," he said almost pleading.
I laughed. "Who's breaking up? We? Of course, not. I flew to Denmark to ask your reason why you left me there and didn't even respond to my messages and calls," I said.
"I'm sorry."
"Is it true that you're bound to marry someone?" I asked.
"They're just planning it to. Since they never see me engaging with women. Mom wanted me to have a girlfriend and I'm not going to have one, I'm going to marry whoever they want me to. But you're here and I will tell them about my lovely girlfriend," he said and crossed our distance as he pressed his lips into mine.
We shared a kiss as the dusk embraces the sky.
I know I have still so many things to understand about him, but it takes time and there's always a perfect time with it. It's good to take one at a time.
When the world trying to break you down, when reasons trying to part your ways if you love that person, we must take the risk and understand things within. We're just at the beginning of our journey and I know many things are waiting for us as we continue our journey in love.
Who would've thought that a commoner like me can be with a prince like Linus?
I never thought that fate will make us meet unexpectedly. And giving us the chance to grow love sweeter than candy.
I hope things will just get worst when I fell in love. But it turns out to be great. And when we set our goals to focus on what's truly important, it's easy to find meaning in our daily actions.
Love is more than a feeling—it should also be considered as enacted emotion.
THE END.
